Welcome to our home away from home! This is our first season to rent out this family home with beautiful views and we are excited to share it with you. We hope you find it as relaxing and enchanting as we do!
The house is comfortable and spacious, two-story, has a yard to play in, a patio downstairs and an upstairs deck. One of the main reasons why we bought this house is for its proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park, which begins right behind the house. We also love the abundant wildlife in the area such as deer, elk, moose, and red foxes that we see often. We just visited the house in May 2012 and saw nine moose in three days of hiking!
We also adore the town of Grand Lake, which you can walk to in 5-10 minutes from the house, it is small and quaint but with lots of activities. It has some great restaurants that we frequent such as: great barbeque at Sagebrush, delicious Mexican food at Poncho and Lefty's, an elegant dinner at M&T's, and yummy pizza at Grand Lake Pizza.
Come see why we instantly fell in love with this house and view!

Me and some friends and family stayed at this location just last weekend. We were very pleased. With everything! The house was clean and well furnished. The pictures do not do it justice. We cooked 2 meals while we were there and had everythig we needed. We actually liked your waffle maker better than the one we brought with us! We went for appitizers and cocktails at Panchos and Leftys one afternoon. Very fun place! And the food was good there too! There was plenty of room and blankets for everyone to be comfortable at the house. And we had a good time playing Scattergories too! The only hiccup we had was with our snowmobiling reservation but they were able to fix that pretty easily. And snowmobiling was a blast! What a beautiful area! And it was snowing too so that made it even more gorgous. I would totally recommend Grand Lake and this house for future visitors. And all of us hope to revisit also. Thank you so much Laura for being easy to reach and being so hlepful.. Really appreciated it..Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

I stayed at this house as a 'base' for hiking Rocky Mt National Park (four of the best trailheads into the park are minutes away). The house is a remarkably beautiful and comfortable place to return to from time on the nearby trails. The interior is clean, new and felt like an inviting home. The views of the lakes and the mountains are simply stunning. Wildlife - elk and a pair of foxes - visited on two evenings. For those wanting a quiet, beautiful and comfortable house in Grand Lake, as a place to stay while exploring the park, this house is an exceptionally good choice. I plan to go back next summer.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

Beautiful property!! Perfect rental for a gathering of family or friends!! The house was in perfect condition with everything you could ask for to make your stay enjoyable!! The deck overlooking the lake was fantastic! The house provides privacy for all and yet more than enough space to gather as a group! We found the walk to town was a little too far for some of our group, but was a very close drive in! Thank you, Laura, for everything!! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and I'm sure we'll stay here again!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, age 55+.

The house is even nicer than the pictures are able to represent. So much space---a great house for a big family; there were only six of us, so it was beyond ample. View is nice--too bad there is a house that obscures some of the lake view, but I did a ton of looking and as a package this rental is hard to beat. Owner is extremely friendly and helpful:) We are experienced theatre-goers, and highly recommend the repertory theatre in town. We saw a fantastic musical there with an excellent cast of professionals from all over the country. Plan to cook; restaurants are expensive and food is not good:( Excellent proximity to the Park and its hikes! Adams Falls hike is great--beautiful falls and meadow beyond (didn't make it to the lake..)Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The house on the corner with the rock that we enjoyed so much. The views are amazing from the moment our eyes opened in bed, from our front porch coffee to our evening meal. Our OTTR snowmobiling was the greatest, we had the best guide. Humphreys store downtown with the hometown treasures was so much fun to shop at. Sagebrush Barbeque, eat there is all I can say!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

About the owner: My wife and I have been coming to Grand Lake for over 30 years and we were engaged in Grand Lake. As a family we enjoy Colorado each year in both the winter and the summer.
Why the Owner Chose Grand Lake:
The house sits on hill behind the town of Grand Lake with breathtaking views. Rocky Mountain National Park is practically in our backyard and the views of Mt. Baldy and Grand Lake are unbeatable. We also love the town of Grand Lake, it is small and quaint but with lots of things to do.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
You can walk to town in about five minutes, we love walking to the lake or having dinner downtown. Hike to RMNP trailheads from our doorstep, or just hike around the hill behind the house for a stunning view of the mountains and lakes. Enjoy our unobstruced views of Mount Baldy, Grand Lake, and Shadow Mountain Reservoir from our upper deck. Alpenglow at sunset on Mt Baldy is breathtaking and then gaze at the indescribable night sky and stars on our patio furniture.
We also love going snowshoeing and snowmobiling in the winter which you can do just a short distance from the house. There is also some great hills behind the house that are perfect for sledding.
