Villa Fiorella: Stunning Lake and Mountain View, at Hand

Villa Fiorella, located in Dizzasco, a small hamlet 2 km far from Argegno, is the ideal starting point to explore and enjoy the many delights of the area: the slopes plunging dramatically into the deep blue waters of the lake Como, and the still unknown to the masses beauty of the mountains, with Val d’Intelvi as its most famous spot.

With breathtaking views of the lake and the mountains all around, ideal for a fantastic, comfortable, relaxing holiday, the house has been furnished with a typical “Milanese touch”, guarantee of the perfect blend between comfort and Italian taste.
Extremely spacious (200 square meters), it is suitable for a big family or a group of friends who want to share holiday emotions: the fully equipped kitchen and the large dining room will make you feel comfy, besides of satisfying the greatest culinary expectations. And when you do not feel just at it, there is a wonderful restaurant at walking distance serving dishes typical of the lake.
The pleasure of staying at Villa Fiorella is appreciated also by the golf players, who can practise their favourite sport at Menaggio Golf Club (15 km far), the oldest course in Italy. Its club house is exquisite with old world, slightly British, charm.. And if the “green” is not your favourite colour, you can just linger there, in front of the giant window overlooking Lake Como and sipping the outstanding red wine served at the bar ….waiting for George Clooney?
At the entrance level we have a fully fitted kitchen, two bedrooms (one double bedded and the second twin bedded) , a bathroom with tub and a large living/dining room, the best spot for your relax or for a long chat with your friends.
Wooden stairs lead you up to the first floor with two bedrooms and one bathroom with tub. On a sunny day when you open the door of the master bedroom, you are dazzled by the light and amazed by the beautiful landscape .
Downstairs a laundry, a cellar and a third bathroom with shower.
Another top spot is the wide garden where guests who want to relax rather than explore the outskirts, can enjoy alfresco lunches and dinners. They can get suntanned, sit sipping a glass of wine or cook an Italian “bistecca” on the barbeque and at the end of the day enjoy sunset on the mountain tops. So Italian!

From Villa Fiorella you can reach the lakeside centre of Argegno in just 5 minutes by car. Argegno is a picturesque and ancient village on the lake shores at the mouth of Val d’Intelvi. It is crossed by Fiume Telo and is divided into two parts, which are joined by an old stone bridge. It is a lively village and if you want to relax you can sit at a “ caffè” and sip a glass of wine or taste a homemade cake or an icecream. Your neighbor may be a cyclist who is taking a break from his tour of the lake. Many family-run restaurants invite you to taste local specialities ( risotto, missoltini, Zincarlin cheese).
The village has a pleasant climate. From March to October it is not too hot thanks to the Breva, a lovely breeze blowing on the lake which guarantees together with Tivano a mild climate, a must for surfers and sailing boats. Autumn and Winter are usually cold but bright with lot of sunshine.
Mountaineering fans will enjoy Val d'Intelvi and by cable car from Argegno you can reach Pigra (800 m) where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the lake. From Argegno explore the nearby towns by ferry and in about half an hour you will be in Como the right place for fantastic shopping, lakeside walks and good restaurants.
Lake Como, the deepest lake in Europe, has so much to offer. The resorts of Argegno, Menaggio, Tremezzo, Cadenabbia and Lenno are situated on the sunny, western shore with Bellagio perched on promontory that divides Como and Lecco. Bellagio and Menaggio, the largest resorts, are characterised by a buzzing cosmopolitan atmosphere with quaint, cobbled alleyways and café-filled piazzas. The adjacent villages of Tremezzo and Cadenabbia hug the road from Como to Switzerland, while Lenno, the smallest one , is a real heaven of tranquillity, with some of the most stunning lake views.
The villages have shores with small gravel beaches, pleasant harbours and water sport areas for windsurfing, sailing and water skiing, whilst the valleys are good for walking, hiking, mountain biking, and in winter for skiing. The slopes of St Moritz, San Bernardino, Madesimo, Gotthard are within an easy reach.
Summer should be dedicated to golf, swimming, sailing and all watersports.
Lake Como for centuries attracted visitors and hosted some famous writers and musicians such as Stendhal, Byron, Shelley, Bellini and Listz and important statesmen ( Churchill and Adenauer). Its openness to “VIP” has recently been confirmed by the presence almost all year around, of George Clooney, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Donatella Versace, Elton John, Madonna just to say some names… who have decided to make this area their own private paradise.
But if you are not into VIP-watching, no worry, the relax-lovers can enjoy the recommended excursions to Como ( 20 km), Milano (70 km), and Lugano ( 60 km) and the shop-aholics will soon love the designer fashion factory outlets near Como and the Swiss border ( Mendrisio).
If you are curious and like lingering in the sun, you can choose between a visit to the traditional museum with a collection of over 100 boats from the 18th century in Pianello del Lario, or a car ride to stunning villas like Villa del Balbianello ((Star Wars & James Bond), Villa Melzi, Villa Serbelloni, Villa Carlotta.
