  We booked this house and two others for a family reunion. It is a fabulous house and was definitely the best of the three we rented. The living room is very large and the way the glass walls just slide back to be open to the outdoors is just wonderful. The master bedroom also has the same glass walls and is at the other end of the house from the other bedroom so it is very private. The master bedroom has a large walk in closet, so was great for stowing all our snorkeling gear. The other two bedrooms and den are on the other side of the house from the master bedroom. Our daughter checked on the koi several times a day – she loved looking at them. From the lanai you look down to the golf course and then out to the ocean – it is a fabulous view. We had many evenings when we sat on the lanai for sunset drinks and also dinner. The kitchen is compact but worked well – we cooked many meals here. The house is in Maui, just a short walking distance from shops and the major hotels. Also Maui is always sunny even when you get stormy showers in Kapalua – so the weather is really good on this part of the island. This house really exemplifies the beauty of Hawaiian living – there are very few places like this in the world.

  After our stay in this home, we agree that it is private and luxurious; yet, the first word that comes to mind is exclusive! It is far enough removed that all you can hear is the rustle of the palm trees and morning song of the birds and near enough to anything and everything that you would want to do in Wailea: a 15 minute walk to the Wailea board walk, (don’t forget brunch @ Longhi’s 10 minute walk); 5 minute drive to Big Beach and a 5 minute drive to Kihei. The fact is that at the end of the day, you realize that all you want or need is at the house itself; watch for whales from the lanai as you sip a daiquiri or simply wait for the sun to snuff out in a fantastic blaze over the ocean. Actually, you do not even need to leave the master bed to experience the surroundings, simply open the sliding walls and enjoy in total comfort. Wake up in the morning and do laps in the pool or simply sit in the hot tub and let your muscles relax after a morning of snorkeling (Ahihi Bay 10 minute drive) or a hike to Perouse Bay (trail head a 15 minute drive). Plenty of room for a large family or guests, semi-detached rooms and spaces make it easy enough to find peace and seclusion even with a full house. The owners are amazing and at the end of it all, you will ask yourself if you really have to leave; apparently it is not uncommon to send stateside for possessions and loved ones and call it all good.
