VILLA GIN DE MER is a private villa located on Long Point Peninsula in the 'less traveled' East End of St. John. This ridgeline location offers 270 degree views from 2,000 square feet of decks, patios and lanais. Coral Bay, where you will find restaurants and shopping, is a 15 minute drive thru Hurricane Hole and the National Park.
Villa Gin de Mer is a spacious, well-appointed, private 3-bedroom luxury villa with breathtaking views of the sea, the animals, the boats, and the beaches that make the East End of St. John such a unique and relaxing spot. Enjoy your morning's first cup of coffee on the expansive lower patio, watching sea turtles come up for air in the crystal blue waters of Hansen Bay. Catch sight of dolphins and sometimes even migrating whales as you lounge by the large in-ground pool or soak in the hot tub. A short, 10-minute walk will lead you down to a private, rocky beach where you can snorkel in the lovely and well-populated reefs of Hansen Bay.
Each of the Villa's 3 bedrooms includes a Queen Size bed, seating area, full bath, TV, walk-in closet, ceiling fan, AC and outdoor patio. The Master Suite also has a kitchenette, a covered lanai and an outdoor shower. The great room is outfitted with a large HDTV, shelves full of board games and books, and comfy seating for all. A fully equipped kitchen makes preparing and serving meals easy . . just add food!

My family and I just returned from our short but memorable Caribbean holiday. Gin-de-Mer was extraordinary in every way . . .the location, the layout, the outdoor dining, the pool, the spa, the views . . . I could go on and on! Each of the three bedrooms, which included full baths, was immaculate and very comfortable. The outdoor shower is amazing. All of us had a relaxing yet fun-filled vacation. Even though it was hard to do, we actually pulled ourselves away from our spectacular surroundings to take advantage of the amazing snorkeling in Hansen Bay. Gin-de-Mer is clearly one of the best values on the East End of St. John, and we can’t wait to return!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I and chose the beautiful island of St. John as our vacation spot to ring in the New Year. We stayed on the East End at the Villa Gin de Mer and all I can say is wow! We have previously visited a number of houses on the East End and none compare to the beauty, comfort and luxury of Gin de Mer! This house has the most magnificent views of anywhere on the island. We would have our morning coffee lounging at the pool overlooking Hansen Bay watching the turtles come up for breath and the pelicans dive for their breakfast. Some days we would stay at the house and just hang with a cold beverage while others we decided to explore the island. A short 5 minute drive gets you to Vie's Beach which also has a charming Snack Shack complete with Johnny cakes and Red Stripes. We also explored The North Shore beaches which were just breathtaking and filled with amazing snorkeling opportunities. We were able to see sea turtles, giant starfish and octopus! After several long beach days we were so gad to return to the Villa because it has all the comforts and ammenities of home such as cable, wifi and a huge kitchen. The house is amazingly clean and well kept with beautiful furniture and island artwork. We decided to cook at home most nights, however there are some great restaurants we found while we were there such as Sweet Plantains, Skinny Legs and Shipwrecked. After our 10 day stay in St. John we were extremely satisfied, relaxed and tan. Hands down this was the most amazing vacation we have ever taken and the next time we go back we will DEFINITELY stay at Gin de Mer!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

This place is absolutely breathtaking with the amenities of ultimate comfort. Great place for a romantic get away, family adventure or fun with friends. The layout is ideal for island living and entertainment. We had complete privacy when we wanted and were able to go out close by to engage and mingle with others when we wanted. The swimming and snorkeling at the walkable Vie's beach is one of the best on the island. Many day trips taken to explore the island with it's history and gorgeous beaches. Most relaxing and enjoyable vacations we have taken in many years. Views from any area of the house at any time of the day or night are the most spectacular and memorable you will ever find, Bring a camera!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Our stay at Gin de Mer exceeded our expectations! It is truly an amazing home and we loved being there. The house is ideally perched high above Hansen Bay and the views and the breezes are spectacular. We never tired of the breathtaking views from the spacious decks that surround the home. There we spent each morning watching the sunrise, with our meals at the outdoor dining table, as well as star gazing at night. When you are there you will see what I mean! We rented snorkel equipment at a reasonable cost from Crabby's in nearby Coral Bay and we experienced some of the best snorkeling ever. The house is sparkling clean, the kitchen is well provisioned and all bedrooms and bathrooms are very nice. Each bedroom is en suite with its own bathroom making it a very comfortable experience for everyone There is also a convenient bathroom outside near the pool. We loved the outdoor shower and took advantage of it regularly . I highly recommend Gin de Mer to anyone considering a vacation to the charming island of St John. You will not be disappointed....I promise.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We recently were able to enjoy a fabulous week at the Gin-de Mer on St John. It was our first trip to the island and we can’t wait to go back! This beautiful villa had much to do with our enjoyment. It is perfectly set up for a vacation rental - large common great room, private bedrooms (and baths), fully equipped kitchen, covered outdoor eating area, large pool and hot tub and the most spectacular outdoor space on the island! The outdoor spaces feature several sitting areas to enjoy your morning coffee, evening cocktail or sky gazing at night. The wrap around view is breathtaking! Our family of 5 agrees this was our best vacation yet!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Why the Owner Chose East End:
What attracted us immediatley to Villa Gin de Mer and the East End of St. John was the quiet and the privacy. The proximity to the sea, several wonderfull beaches and great snorkeling made this a perfect location to escape from our busy lives in the states.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
Villa Gin de Mer offers a spacious and comfortable place to relax. With our large multi level decks offering expansive views of the Caribbean and St. John, you can swim in our salt water pool, relax in the hot tub while star gazing, and find any number of secluded shady spots for catching up on your reading or napping.
There is a covered outdoor dining area, or enjoy our more formal indoor dining space. The greatroom is very comfortably furnished to accommodate all guests and they enjoy DISH Network's 'Welcome Package' on Satellite HDTV. The kitchen is large, fully equipped and will please any gourmet chef.
The 500 sq. ft. master bedroom suite is complete with a small kitchenette and private lanai. This suite has a full indoor bath, and a private outdoor shower.
Each of the other two 300 sq. ft. bedrooms have their own full bath, and they share an outdoor seating area overlooking the gardens and Hansen Bay.
The Great Room includes an extensive reading library for the guest who wants 'me time,' and plenty of games for the guests who enjoy fun interaction with each other.
