We had a great time at your cabin. The cabin was well equipped for a family of ten (two families with two kids each and grandparents). It is in a great, central location to many of the surrounding attractions; isolated but with easy access to anything you need. We enjoyed Grandfather mountain, Blowing Rock, Boone, and Tweetsie. The cabin has plenty of activities for younger children - we enjoyed cooking smores, playing cornhole, and grilling out in the backyard. The house was very clean with everything you need to cook or entertain a family. We would certainly stay again and recommend the property for a family trip.Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

The house was absolutely perfect for our Homecoming weekend! The kitchen/den area is so open and easily accomodated our group of 8. The views were spectaular. We loved how close the house was to Boone. Aside from the steep, gravel driver that a couple of our cars had trouble getting up the first time, the house was super easy to get to. The set up of the house was great and it truly is a beautiful home!! Thank you for letting us enjoy your home away from home for the weekend! We look forward to staying there again next year!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway.

Stunning, breath taking, relaxing, amazing...I could go on and on about this wonderful cabin in the mountains. We stayed for a 3 day weekend and the only problem was the weekend wasn't long enough. This cabin is truly the BEST place to stay and not only enjoy valuable family time but all the beautiful adventures of the outdoors at the mountains. We were one of 5 families who stayed that weekend and couldn't have been more comfortable. There was plenty of room for all 9 adults and 6 kids!!!! There was never a time when any of us felt crowded. My 3 year old slept in a very comfortable cot beside our bed and my 1 year old in a Graco play-pin, all provided. We were all very well accommodated. You can tell the owners went out of there way to make this cabin a very special home away from home. We enjoyed cooking meals together in the kitchen while the guys played corn hole outside and the kids played with toys and watched TV in the Great Room. In the evenings we enjoyed hot chocolate and played games on the lower level. The fire pit was also a blast to sit around while eating s'mores! I can't wait until we get the opportunity to visit again! I highly recommend this vacation rental!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

This vacation home was the perfect getaway. It was beautiful! The owners really have thought of everything. This home is very spacious. We had 9 adults and 6 children and there was plenty of room to spare. Walking into this cabin really felt like home. Toys and games were stocked for the kids and building a fire at night to make s'mores was a huge hit! (I think the adults may have enjoyed that just as much as the kids) The view from the back porch was amazing and the perfect place to have a morning cup of coffee. The location is great and close to a lot of amenities. The owners were very accommodating and we can't wait to go again. It was wonderful!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Fantastic Week near Blowing Rock with Good Friends and all our children. The house was exactly as described, if not better. LOTS of room to play inside and out. House is in excellent condition and we were very pleased with the accomodations. Great communication with the owners. The fire pit is a HUGE bonus! Easy location between Boone and Blowing Rock. We went hiking, rafting and of course gem mining. I would highly recommend this house.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

If you are looking for plenty of room in a secluded setting - this is it. The three stories ensured a quiet night's sleep for us early risers - when everyone else is still up late having fun. The kids stayed occupied at night downstairs with all of the games. The owners were extremely accommodating and made us feel very welcomed in their home. Would go again - convenient to so many things to do! Everything you need.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Our family of six had a blast at Sunset Cabin. The house is beautiful and so spacious. Lots of room to spread out. The kids had a great time roasting marshmallows in the fire pit and just playing outside. Our favorite part of the trip was kayaking. Everything is reasonably close and inexpensive. We will definitely be coming back!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Our family of 9 adults and one baby couldn't have found a more perfect place for fun and quality time. This vacation home is lovely, spacious, and convenient to many adventure options. We enjoyed our early morning coffee and evening glasses of wine sitting on the front porch. The fire pit was the place to be for SMORES and for sharing stories of our whitewater rafting and hiking adventures! The only problem was the length of our stay.... it was only three nights. Next time we will book for at least a week! The owners were very accommodating. We highly recommend this vacation home.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Owner info
About the owner: We are a family of five, our kids are 14, 12 and 9 years old. This is our vacation home and we really love it. We have been spending more time with kids weekend activities and sports and also working more so we have not been able to visit as much this year. We decided to start renting in 2012.
Why the Owner Chose Blowing Rock:
We live in Charlotte and enjoy Blowing Rock and Boone for many reasons. We first started vacationing in the area by renting homes and truly enjoyed ourselves every time. Blowing Rock is located only 2 hours from Charlotte which makes it a really easy drive. We love all the choices for outdoor activities. Our kids' favorits are kayaking the calmer parts of the New River (little and safe rappids) and climbing the rocks at Hebron Falls. We also have become quite good snow boarders spending many winter weekends at App Ski Mnt. We are going to take up fly fishing years.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The feeling of being in the woods without a lot of homes around us yet very close to all the comforts of Boone and the downtown historic environment of Blowing Rock. What we like about our cabin is that we can send the kids (and their friends) down to the playroom where they can be noisy and we can relax on the main area and kitchen. We rented a lot of cabins and homes first and the noise with kids and crowded feeling with many family guests was always a problem. Our cabin is perfect for a lot of people. We hosted a Thanksgiving family reunion there last year. We had 10 adults and 10 kids and it was a total success. We have the shutter fly album on the coffee table.
