Don't get trapped on the mountain!

This charming Victorian home is the perfect place for your vacation in Crested Butte. Located just one block from the historic Elk Avenue, the prime location offers easy access to all of Crested Butte's great shopping, tasty restaurants, and the town movie theater. Also, the home is located less than a block away from the free shuttle that takes you right up to the mountain.

We traded in our mountain condo for an in-town house. By staying in the town of Crested Butte, you'll have the advantage of being blocks from all of the great features this quaint town has to offer, without being isolated on the mountain in the evenings. The grocery store and movie theater are right down the street. You're also less than a block from the free shuttle up to the mountain. The home is conviently located near the Nordic Center, which is great for those interested in cross country skiing, ice skating, snowshoeing, and sledding. Also, the best restaurants and shopping in Crested Butte are only steps away!

This home has two bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. The spacious bedrooms are both downstairs and have attached bathrooms that have been recently remodeled. One bedroom has two twin beds, while the other has a queen. There is also a washer/dryer downstairs.

Upstairs, there is a large, sunny living room, perfect for relaxing with family and friends or watching TV, which has cable and a VCR. There is also a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room, and half bath upstairs. Most importantly, there is a wonderful balcony which offers fantastic views and is a great place to hang out during the day.

There is street parking for 3 cars, but if you fly into Gunnison you won't even have to rent a car. The in-town shuttle is free and will take you up to the mountain in no time, and everything in town is an easy walk. If you decide to fly into Gunnison, Alpine Express offers shuttles from the airport to Crested Butte. United, Continental and Delta all serve the Gunnison airport.

Fantastic House in the Heart of Crested Butte
5/5

Great house in a great location in CB

Guest: Biff (Fredericksburg, TX)
Date of Stay: 07/05/11 Review Submitted: 07/19/11

Location is great, very close to Elk (2 blocks) and everything in CB, Camp4Coffee is about a 3-5 minute walk. The house was great, two nice bedrooms with plenty of space, for 2 adults and 3 kids. Bedrooms were downstairs which was great in that I didn't have to lug luggage upstairs. The living area upstairs with the dining table, kitchen was spacious and we had our friends over to our place more than we spent at theirs. We will be back.

Great location

We enjoyed the house during the month of June; found it to be a wonderful location (in town - a short walk to shops, dining, parks and trails), clean, comfortable for our family (one 15 month old), and a good value. We hope to stay at the house again and would recommend it to friends.

The PERFECT place to stay in Crested Butte, no matter what you're there to do!

Guest: First time CB visitor (Seattle, WA)
Date of Stay: 02/18/11 Review Submitted: 02/22/11

This house is the place to be in Crested Butte. Period. End of story. Ok, the story. Why, you ask? Because this house is in town, where you want to be, in an actual working functioning town that happens to be right next to a great ski area (instead of in the 9 shades of beige sterile Mountain "Village"). This house is a place so close to the heart of downtown you can lace up your running shoes do a glory run straight down Elk St., or, if you're looking for your solitude fix, run across town and in two minutes be running with the hawks and no one else in the shadow of snow-covered mountain peaks on a remote loop through the farm fields and woods and rolling hills of the beautiful valley that surrounds Crested Butte. This house is a place where you're effectively just as close to the lifts, as the town ski bus passes within a stone's throw of the house every 15 minutes and whisks you and your skis or board straight up the hill to the Mountain Resort. If you want to take a day on the skinny skis you can walk out the door, put your skis on in the street, skate around the corner to the Nordic Center and town trail system and off you go. That same Nordic Center houses the town ice rink if skating on skates and not skis is your thing. And when you finally get back to the house from the mountain or the nordic trails or the skating rink, a hot shower and a handy washer and dryer and a comfortable living room with great views of town and the surrounding mountains await. And then when you realize how hungry you are you walk out the door and within three blocks of the house you've passed ten fantastic restaurants and three cool coffee shops...and countless places to pick up that Kjus jacket you've always wanted or the fly rod you've been jonesing for or the impossibly cool locally hand-tied rug you never knew you needed. Yes, this house is the place to be in Crested Butte. Period. End of story.

This is a great, sunny, warm house in walking distance to everything downtown. Love the deck and the front porch. A great place to stay. My kids loved it too. Thanks!
