My husband and I rented this wonderful condo to celebrate 10 years of marriage. We couldn't have been more pleased with the location, accomodations and convienence while adventuring in such a tropical paradise. Everything you need along with Hawaiian charm is provided. After getting some groceries, we were set for the week. The pool is amazing and right out the back door. Better yet, the beach is only a minute walk from the front door, and anything you need....chairs, coolers, snorkel gear, etc. is already right there at the condo. We felt completely content to just hang out at the condo on the lanai, or at the pool with a good book or your ipad...free wifi! The local establishments are all in walking distance...be sure to check out the fish taco vendor on the corner north of the Kamaole Sands. Otherwise, our rental car was parked close to the condo for long excursions. I higly recommend renting a scooter from the Harley store next to Denny's for a day. It was affordable, fun, and a great way to explore the beaches all the way to Makenna. We loved walking through the grounds at night or hanging in the hottub. At night, the ocean breezes flow through the condo and I had no problem getting a good night's sleep in the GIANT king size bed in the bedroom. At night the grounds are quiet and in the morning the birds are awake calling you out for a cup of coffee on the lanai. This property is like a home away from home. It is clean, well maintaned, and offers the essence of the Maui lifestyle. The associates at the front desk are friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend this condo others, and plan on returning soon.

This condo is the beautiful! It is clean and very nicely decorated. Also, it is very close to the pool so you can just throw on your bathing suit and be out sun tanning in seconds. The ocean is a quick walk across the road and is the BEST place to go snorkeling. Would absolutely stay there again!

We were so pleased with the excellent accommodation! This condo was the most well equipped, comfortable unit we have ever stayed in.We enjoyed our week in Maui there so much--it was wonderful! Such a treat to sit out on the lanai to eat all of our meals while soaking up the warmth and listening to the birds every day And the king size bed made for great sleeps as well! We would definitely return to this condo in the future.

We had the privilege of staying at this condo from 3/1711-3/27/11. We thought that the location was the BEST! It is not only on the ground floor but is in close location to the pool. As my daughter remarked after seeing all the other places to stay, " Our place is the best of all the condos here!" We thought the furnishings were great and the lanai was perfect for that morning cup of coffee. We enjoyed the close proximity to many beaches and shopping. We are so glad to have found this place and hope to return for many years to come.

We stayed from March 5-17/11. The location is great, beautiful Lanai and close to pool. Great for small kids! We were concerned since the last reviews spoke of bug issues but we never saw one bug the whole time we were there, it must have been an isolated incident. The condo could use some updating and its located right across from the elevator and trash, but overall it was comfortable, clean and decent. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Stayed here, from Jan.12 thru to Jan.22. Had some issues similar to one reviewer above. I will describe both the positive and negative in this honest review of the condo and property and this is my opinion... it may not be yours. The positives: The location of the condo complex is very good. Close to beaches, close to shopping, and Kihei of course is pretty central for trips to Kahalui or up to Lahaina. The condo grounds are very well kept and being an older property, the landscaping, trees, and gardens are beautiful. Good parking spot for this unit, shaded and pretty close to buliding. Cost. This was about as reasonable a place as one could get on Maui in the same time frame. Beach chairs, umbrella, and cooler available, nice not to have to buy or rent those. Kitchen was well equipped with plenty of glasses, plates, and cutlery. Various utensils and appliances too. Pool was clean, long hours, maybe could use another one! Now the Negatives. I realize Maui has come out of a drought lately and it is a tropical locale but the number of roaches in the condo was excessive. Killed 15 the first night in and on counter tops and cupboards. 20 the next morning. Some in bathrooms too. [ NOTE** Contacted the owner that first morning and they were prompt in contacting the resort managers about getting the bugs taken care of ] We spent two nights in another condo while they tried to get rid of the critters. Numbers were reduced but not by enough to let us cook and eat in comfort there. Just not a good feeling. Shower door in hall bath does not close easily. It will close but feared breaking it so we did not use. En Suite bath needs new or repaired faucet fixture, new toilet paper roll holder, paint. AC is noisy but maybe they all are. Didn't use much due to decent trade wind breeze thru unit. Electronics are way out of date and I know, I know, what are you doing inside, you are in Maui!! But it isn't always nice out and sometimes you have to be inside. Need to update. Condo location in the complex is both good and bad, again in my opinion. You are close to the pool and have a nice garden view but you are also close to the noisy elevator and trash room. The main thing that made our review lower than some of the others here, was the bug situation. Some of the other things are maybe nitpicky, but the more info the better for people I think. Must add that the owners were easy to deal with and perhaps we just had bad timing. :)

I thought I did my homework on this one. We were disappointed and this was why. #1.The unit is described as MODERN AND REMODELLED. The only portion of this unit that was remotely modern and remodelled was the kitchen, which was in fact nice. The rest of the unit was tired, worn and often broken. Specifically: a)The fridge was not working and froze all our expensive fruit on the first day b)The shower door in the second bathroom doesn't close on the way without a fight c)None of the clocks were working, the television crackled and the audio equipment was dated d)The decor was badly out of date #2.The unit was described as having a Kingsize double pillow-top bed Seriously? This bed was very uncomfortable. I specifically had conversation with the owner expressing concern about this one particular aspect of our stay and how important it was to have a very comfortable bed as my husband has a back problem - the lowest motels we've stayed at have more comfortable beds than this. #3.The unit was described as having a New Sofa? Really? When was it new? 2000? #4. BUGS!!! There were cockroaches crawling all over our counters every morning and some other black small black bugs. It grossed us out. To top it all off, there was a water leak from another unit which caused a water alarm to go on unceasingly until security arrived to shut it off. We had multiple people coming and going to fix the various issues and it was a pain. The description of the Lanai was accurate - it was very nice. The location is as described - it was excellent. We would not recommend this unit to friends. We saw some other units which were as described - MODERN AND REMODELLED - this was not!

Owner response: Unfortunately, this posting was the first time we had heard of any of these problems. I would like to address some of these issues: I was just at the condo in November, and the 4 year old refrigerator was working great. Apparently the thermostat had broken (which I was unaware of) and was fixed by the on-site maintenance crew during their stay. There was not anything wrong with the shower door during my stay, and I will of course handle that. We only supply one clock in our condo which is in the kitchen. It is battery operated, and apparently the battery had died. I will have the television checked out. Many people have commented how wonderful the double pillow top bed is as you can read on our website. There has been an unusual amount of rain! Everyone had a increase of the bugs in Maui, and we were no exception and have handled the problem. All of our pictures show what our condo looks like, including the couch. In fact there is one frame solely showing the couch. I personally choose the material for our custom made sofa, which was purchased 2 years ago, and we love it! There are things that happen that we can not control, and I am truly sorry that the condo from above leaked. That was a first. Again, we knew nothing of this until this posting from our guest. We have MANY return guests and have owned the condo for years and this is the first complaint we have ever received. We are SO sorry that this guest wasn't happy and wish they would have come to us first. We are very thankful for all our returning guests, new guests and full calendar.

My main question was... why did we wait SO long to do this! This condo is such a great location. I realize now what a plus it is to have first floor access. The lanai was so pleasant - many hours of relaxing out on the lanai with lush grass within inches. The kids enjoyed having that grass to run on and such easy access to the pool was awesome. I loved the kitchen - obviously newly remodeled. The condo was fully stocked and so pleasant. We will be returning to this condo AT LEAST once a year - hopefully more.

Hello Mosca's We had such a great time,We think your condo location is the best in the whole complex.Other friends we were there with had to hike a new york mile ,up and down stairs to get to everthing,We were perfectly situated. With the cool trade winds we never even looked at the air conditioner. We loved the birds coming in at night to roost, then waking us up in the morning.During Wed night Mai Tai party we just listened to music from the lanai. The room is so comfy and homey,We loved seeing the picture of your family. You are so lucky to have that little piece of paradise and thank you for letting us share it with you. Mahalo Andrew & Katie

It's great to see the photos...happy reminders of our trip and this great condo. The place is awesome. First floor, no stairs, the lanai is spacious and a skip to the pool. The walk to the beach is an easy stroll and while I was a bit nervous about it, that distance is perfect because there is NO TRAFFIC noise that one would hear if "across from the beach" like some of the other condo's advertise. The king bed is REALLY comfortable and my husband is very hard to please in this category...kind of a mattress snob, as it were. Walking distance to Fred's and another great restaurant Cafe Ole. Of course, Kihei is divine. Thanks to the owners for a great place to stay. And thanks for the prompt and courteous service with setting up our reservation. If we are ever in Maui again, we would definitely stay here if it were available.

February 27, 2007 Aloha!! We regretfully have to leave this lovely bit of paradise today but wanted to say what a wonderful time we have had here for the last month!! The Mosca's were a delight to deal with from the start and VRBO is the only place I go to look for accomodations anymore.....anywhere in the world!! We have stayed in this complex before and both expieriences have been wonderful!! We have been delighted to find this unit very well equipped and comfortable. The king size bed is great!! The decor lovely!! The kitchen has every last thing you need to cook anything!! There are plenty of dishes and glasses....enough to actually fill up the dishwasher!! The lanai is wonderful and the view spectacular. The location ideal!! We give it 5*****!! Mahalo!!

We arrived Sunday around 10am to check in...they did, indeed, have someone staying here on Saturday night, so we went to Polo Beach and spent a few hours before coming back and getting checked in. You have a beautiful condo! Easy to locate and WOW! The front office people were very nice and let us put our luggage in their special little room while we were at the beach. By far your condo is the NICEST one we have ever had the pleasure of staying in during our long tenure of Maui visits over the past 22 years. WHERE DID YOU GET THE COVERLET ON YOUR BED? John and I are going to be redecorating our master bedroom when we get home and wanted to do a Tropical theme with shades of green on the walls and tropical plants (fake ones, of course, or I'd kill them for sure!) I have fallen in love with the coverlet/bed skirt on your bed! If you bought it recently, can you remember where? I'd get one and ship it home... So, it's day 2 in Paradise and we will be heading over to Costco today to get our supplies for the duration. We are also taking our car back to Alamo as they didn't even clean it and it is unacceptable for what we pay for a couple of weeks. Oh well, can't have EVERYTHING turn out just right, eh? Take care of yourselves and know your place is in good hands...absolutely gorgeous! Aloha! Eileen and John High

I have stayed at Kamaole Sands numerous times over the last ten years, this complex is in a great location! This is the nicest and most updated unit I have stayed in; well equipped kitchen, new tile, comfortable king bed, locking screen door for good crossflow breeze, large lanai, and not too far from the pool! I highly recommend staying in the Mosca's condo, you won't be disappointed! P.S. Don't forget to bring binoculars with you to the beach across the street during whale season, I have seen many whales from here... Mike Corey

Welcome to our "home away from home". We want you to have a great time while visiting maui and as our guests at the Kamaole Sands. We are in the highy sought after 6 bldg (105). We hope you find our ground level, poolside condo to your liking. We live in South Lake Tahoe, Ca. and have two girls. These are some of our recommendations on things to do while on Maui. The sunsets from the Kam III beachpark across the street are magnificent and some evenings there are local musicians playing on the grass. Don't miss the Wednesday Mai Tai parties at the pool from 3 until 5. The Mai Tai's are free and there is live music. If you are into doing a snorkel trip by boat and have children or would also like to get an education on the marine life around Maui, we recommend the Pacific Whale Foundation boat out of Maalea Harbor. The staff there are friendly, professional and have abundant knowledge of the local waters. The Maui aquarium is a must see attraction. It is also located at Maalea Harbor, a fifteen minute drive from Kamaole Sands. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance of Kamaole Sands. We like Fred's for dining and great sunsets. Maui Tacos is just a bit farther down the road and has great food for reasonable prices. Eskimo Candy is another fabulous place. It is family owned and operated and they are wonderful people. This is THE spot for fresh Sushi and they have a small kitchen for wonderful fish and chips, ribs, hamburgers ..etc. they are closed on weekends (thier family time). Enjoy your vacation! Aloha!! The Mosca's
