Teton Views, Off Ski Hill Rd, 1.5 Acres, 15 Min. to Grand Targhee
- Minimum stay:2 nights
- Internet:No
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Beds for 10 in this beautiful and spacious 3 BR + loft, 2 full bath house on 1.5 acres off of Ski Hill Road, between Driggs and Grand Targhee Resort. Great views of Grand Teton and surrounding mountain ranges through huge picture windows, plenty of privacy, and peace and quiet. It is a 5 minute drive into town, where there is an excellent, modern grocery store, a fine wine shop, several outdoors shops and outfitters, and many other stores, as well as several very good restaurants. It is 9.7 miles (about a 15 min. drive) up to the ski area, where there is fantastic downhill and nordic skiing, as well as a tubing hill.
Grand Targhee consistently gets more snowfall than any other ski area in Idaho, and has unbelievable powder skiing! Additionally, throughout the valley there are multiple opportunities for nordic skiing and snowshoeing in the winter.
When the snow melts, the trails are great for hiking and mountain biking, and there is fantastic outdoors music concerts and festivals. There is also fantastic fly-fishing in the area with 3 world-renowned rivers (S. Fork Snake, Henry's Fork, and Teton) and ~ 20 productive smaller streams within 40 minutes.
We are a 45 min drive over the pass to Jackson Hole, and an hour drive up to Yellowstone National Park. Many people say that the summers in the Teton Valley are even better than the winters--come see for yourself!
For details about skiing / snowboarding / nordic skiing during the winter and music festivals / mountain biking / hiking during the summer at Grand Targhee, check out Grand Targhee's website.
Amenities in the house include:

* Dining area with dining table with leaves and chairs that can accommodate up to 10 people

* Anteroom with futon cushions that could potentially sleep 2 additional people (this would allow sleeping space for 12 total).
We have chosen to not have cable or satellite television, internet, or land line telephone, because we regard this house as an escape from everyday life and an opportunity to get 'off the grid.' If needed, there is great wireless telephone access at our house, with 4G data via both AT&T and Verizon, and perhaps others. We use our cell phones for communication, and in the rare event that we require internet, we use our cell phone as a hotspot via its 3G connection.
Please come check out our house, and one of our favorite places on Earth. And please let us know if you have any questions or need any recommendations during your stay. We want you to be thrilled with your stay in our house and your time in the Teton Valley!

I recently vacationed in Driggs, ID and stayed in the home. I am always a bit concerned about other people's home and everything that's in them when staying there. Well, this time we hit the jackpot. This home is in a wonderful location with easy access to Driggs, Victor, Jackson Hole, Swan Valley, etc. There's so much to do it in area depending upon the season, but for late summer we were definitely not bored: world class fishing, mountain biking, hiking, etc. But more specific to this review, the home was wonderful - spacious, clean, nice beds and linens, great kitchen, great views, great deck, wonderful master bathroom, etc. You won't go wrong with this one.Did you find this review helpful? My husband and I and our two doggies loved our stay in Driggs. The town is charming and has some very good restaurants. The house is so bright, open, and cheerful and the kitchen is outstanding. Our grandchildren loved the game room upstairs. The master bedroom is so nice and the upstairs was perfect for the children. There is a huge yard for the dogs and they had a great time hiking on all of the nearby trails. So many things to do and see in the area. I would definitely use this comfortable and convenient house again. Walt and Betty from TucsonDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The house was wonderful. Very clean with super comfortable beds. Both of the bedrooms on the main level have king size beds. What a treat. The location can't be beat. I would stay here during any season. Grand Targhee is a short drive up the hill for skiing or mountain biking. Driggs is super close for groceries or other needs. There are hiking and biking trails within a very short drive as well. I can't wait to go back sometime!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and his cousins rented this house for several days and it was exactly what we needed...a quite getaway with great skiing. This year there has been sparse snow in regions all over the Northwest, but Targhee was definitely an exception. All 4 days of skiing were powder days! There were tasty restaurants nearby and Grand Teton brewery only 20 minutes away. The house was comfortable with amazing views and just a short car ride to the slopes. We highly recommend for the perfect ski vacation and can't wait to visit again!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We spent several days here, last Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. The kitchen is stocked with all the essentials and there was plenty of space to spread out. The kids enjoyed game table and the adults the easy access to town, the ski area, and hiking trails. Overall the house was very comfortable and accommodated several people easily: we had 3 couples and two children.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

About the owner: I am a pediatrician who teaches at a family medicine residency and my wife is a physical therapist and certified yoga instructor. We have a daughter, a son, a dog, two cats, and too many other little pets. We love to do just about anything outdoors as a family.
Why the Owner Chose Driggs:
We discovered Driggs and the Teton Valley back in 1999, and immediately fell in love with the area. During the winter, the powder skiing at Grand Targhee is UNBELIEVABLE, plus there are many different places to nordic ski and snowshoe. The summers are fantastic, with beautiful weather, cool nights, and unending outdoor activities that include hiking, biking, fishing, rafting, and many great outdoor music concerts and festivals. Throw in the great restaurants and outdoor shops in Driggs, how nice the locals are here, that Jackson Hole is 40 minutes away, and that Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks are only an hour away for some fun day trips, and youhave our heaven on earth--Driggs and the Teton Valley.
