I recently celebrated my birthday with my 3 close friends and found this great place on VRBO. When we arrived, we were so excited to see the place and it was exactly as the pictures show, and then some. The kitchen was fully stocked, the views were great, the Hot tub was perfect and the place was very clean. We certainly liked having the fireplace ready for us as well. There were a lot of great personal touches that we so appreciated and made it feel like home. Since there was 4 of us, two of us had to sleep on the pull out sofa bed and they were pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was. They both said they had a great night sleep - which is rare for pull out sofa beds! It was close to the town grocery store to pick up any last minute items and beaches (which were lovely). We didn't even mind not having cell service. We will definitely be back. Our only regret was that we didn't stay two nights since it was a 5 hour drive to get there!!! I also appreciated the prompt return of the deposit!

I normally don't write reviews but this place was so sweet that I want to support the owners and give all those interested some extra info to decide from. It's a beautiful little redwood cabin, perfect for a couple, close enough to the ocean and to the awesome little town of Gualala. My boyfriend and I fell in love with the area and hope to come back many times. The hot tub was just amazing and also worked perfectly, too, and the fireplace was especially nice given the cloudy/rainy weekend we had. It's definitely a darker, redwood experience, but they are so majestic and such a blessing to dwell in and in the quiet of night you can hear the waves crashing from the deck. The place was very clean and well appointed and we truly didn't have one issue or complaint. The bottle of wine for us, plus all the great Mendocino information available, was a really nice touch. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We had a magical time and would love to come back again.

We recently spent three nights in this charming cabin in the redwoods. This cabin offered everything we need in a vacation rental: A very well-equipped kitchen; comfy bed; big sofa for reading; immaculate through and through; and a cozy inviting feel during the cold winter. We will be back.

My wife and I, plus our two Golden Retrievers, spent the Labor Day Weekend at the Redwood Cabin Getaway and all four of us could not have enjoyed ourselves more. The cabin is much more spacious than it appears in the photos and the deck and fenced yard were perfect for our dogs. The kitchen was supplied with everything we could possibly need for the meals we prepared and there was plenty of fire wood for a foggy, chilly night. The Ranger at Gualala Regional Park directed us to a "secret" trail which led to an unoccupied beach on the river. The pooches had the time of their lives in the water. We also made the drive up the hill to Annapolis Winery where we had a picnic and enjoyed a sip or two of their delightful vintages. Right up the road is St. Orrs where we indulged in a delightful Saturday Brunch. All in all, The Redwood Cabin Getaway was the perfect spot for a fantastic Labor Day weekend. We will be back.

The property is surrounded by trees and is comfortable and clean inside. The kitchen is open onto the living area and the TV is great for late night movies and wall to wall sliding glass doors to view the backyard (filled with trees, rocks, plants for your pup to explore and sniff around). All the rooms have skylights to see the stars at night and trees in the day. Our favorite element was the patio with coal BBQ and hot tub on the deck. It was clean and hot with perfect jets for sore back. Totally private for having some wine and looking up at the trees or reading a book. The property is minutes by car or bike from the trail to the beach. The beach is beautiful, serene and mysterious at the same time. The visitor center has a good exhibit for kids too. We will be back!

We had a fabulous stay! It was exactly what I expected - A perfectly lovely base to explore the area. Jenny and Evelyn were great hosts - communicative and helpful. The fully equipped kitchen was particularly convenient and we appreciated their recommendations of things to explore in the area. The porch was perfect - so wonderful to relax out there!

What a sweet space. The hot tub on the back deck is the lovely way to start and end a day. The kitchen is well equipped and the location a quick hop to town. We would recommend this easily.

first time visiting gualala. what a lovely little town. and the place is great too! although i came with a couple girlfriends, it would also make a perfect romantic getaway. not too far from downtown and yet still feels pretty private. the hot tub is awesome and pretty much everything you need is provided. love the swinging gate on the deck that locks two ways. just what i needed for the dog. evelyn was great, very accessible and responsive, helpful with suggestions. hope to return soon!

About the owner: My siblings and I grew up in the Mendocino Coast, and love to visit as often as we can. We live in different cities throughout California, but our favorite place continues to be Gualala and it's surrounding towns. My sister and I graduated from Saint Mary's College of California. I am currently pursuing my PsyD, and my sister is working on her MA. We have taken some of our friends to Gualala, and they immediately fall in love with this magical place. Some people have never even heard of Gualala! Go ahead and experience this beautiful and peaceful place. You will probably want to keep coming back like we do. Let us help you plan your stay. Bon Voyage! Evelyn (or Evie like the locals call me) and Jenny

                              Why the Owner Chose Gualala:
We grew up in Annapolis & Gualala, and enjoy the tranquility of the ocean and small town environment.
