Pictures do not do this cabin and property justice. I have stayed in cabins that were larger but NEVER BETTER. The children's loft was a favorite of my gandsons with its own window to see the beautifil view. We loved the daily visits from the owner's dogs. They quietly waited on the road everyday for our invitation to come visit with us. This cabin is equipped with evertyhing you can think of and some things you may forget. My favortie day was the day that we didn't leave the cabin. We walked up and down the road and around the property to enjoy the snow and views. We ended the evening by getting in the hot tub to warm up. The hospitality of the owners was wonderful and helpful since we were not equipped to drive in snow. We are planning on returning in the summer for a completely different Maggie Valley experience and will stay again in this cabin.

We had a wonderful New Years week in the Smokeys! This cabin was absolutely perfect, with all comforts of home, there were five of us (and two dogs), and a couple of friends dropped by on New Years Eve, what a great get-together! The weather was nice and cold (we are from South Florida, so we enjoyed the change), we enjoyed a nice cozy fire, really had a great time. We went sightseeing, enjoyed a nice dinner show in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg was great as usual, Cherokee, Asheville, great places to visit. The kids enjoyed a day of skiing and an evening of tubing, stuff you don't get to do in Florida. We'll definitely be back, and would love to rent here again.

What a great cabin you've got here! What a way to start a brand new year! Had a great holiday with family and friends, kids went skiing and tubing, we enjoyed visiting the little towns nearby, dinners and shopping, and at the end of the day we enjoyed coming back to the cabin and relaxing in the hot tub. Our dogs had a great time in the woods too and we really enjoyed having the nice gas fire in your cozy cabin. P. S. The stars are so beautiful at night.

We had a wonderful time. Our 10 year old spent many hours in the hot tub. Our hound enjoyed being able to go our every door, every time it opened! We had a nice relaxing weekend. One day we had an amazing wind followed by a snow like we haven't seen in years. We will most definitely remember this trip for all of our lives.

Found this last minute (a week prior to visit) and the property owner, Jim, was so easy to work with. responded to emails promptly and called to take my payment. Pulling off main road I have to admit the ride up (keyword up) was a bit scary. This only added to our excitement (after a few times the ride was easy). The pictures on this site do not do this property justice. The views take your breath away and we couldn't get enough of them. We spent a lot of time sitting outside, taking walks, enjoying the hot tub. The cabin itself is perfect - spacious, comfortable, very clean, has everything you need. The linens and cookware were higher quality than I have ever seen in a cabin rental. Great CD collection, and even some DVDs. Our dog probably enjoyed the property more than either of us. The cabin has both a gated wrap around deck AND a fenced in back yard. He would spend hours laying on the deck staring out into mountains. Until of course his new doggie friends(hi smokey and radar!) came over to run around. Overall the 3 days we spent were so relaxing, just what we needed. We hope in the next few years to buy a cabin of our own, but not before coming back here again and (hopefully) again. See you soon!

We found this cabin in a last minute search for a weekend getaway. We booked it because the price and location were right for us - just a short 3 hour trip from Charlotte, and so close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, which we enjoy driving. The moment we arrived we were amazed at the "hominess" of this cabin. It immediately felt like a family home. To say we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the cabin is an understatement. It's one of the nicest places I've ever stayed... it's sort of the "goldilocks" of rentals ... not too big, not too small... it just felt "right". Thanks so much for a fantastic stay!

Our visit was the first week of November. This cabin is fantastic. The view, stars from the hottub, snow and "smokey" mornings were too good to be true. Our dogs were very at home, they even had pet bowls and a leash provided. The dogs next door were adorable and friendly. Cabin is beautifully furnished, clean and comfortable. We stayed a week and I hated to leave. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this property for location and relaxing atmosphere. Took a trip to see the elk and many of the area waterfalls. Also fishing in nearby streams available. Joey's Pancake House in Maggie Valley and Nick & Nate's Pizzeria in Waynesville both excellant. Went to Asheville for yarn shops and a trip to The Thirsty Monk, which has great brews from the US and Europe.

Very nice and peaceful cabin. The cabin was very clean and well maintained. The property manager Jim took really good care of us. I discovered that the gas grill had a leaking hose and he replaced it the same day! He also helped me pull my van and motorcycle trailer out of the very steep gravel driveway. {I would not recommend towing a bike up to this cabin} Overall, a very nice cabin in a beautiful area!

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: This Traveler had trouble because he was driving an older two wheel drive boxy van and trying to pull a large covered trailer with his motorcycle in it. We have had many bikers tell us they had no issues with parking their trailers next to the cabin and this was the first one I've had to help. I would recommend 4WD vehicles even without pulling a trailer. Jim

Most relaxing week we ever had on a vacation. The cabin had everything we did need. Reservation was fast and easy (Thank you very much Jim). The hot tub felt great after day trips. Location is just perfect too. Our dogs had a great time too :-). We enjoyed our dinner at Hurleys in Maggie Valley which are pet friendly and the food is great although. Really there is not one negativ thing to say about this place except that we had to leave.

We had a wonderful week at this cabin. It has all the amenities you could ever want or need. Super clean, Beautiful views, quiet wooded surroundings, a great hot tub, lovely fireplace and comfortable beds. The wifi was a great bonus as were the fenced in backyard and gated front deck for our two dogs. The sunrise over the mountains each morning was a great way to start each day. You are close to Maggie Valley, Waynesville and of course the Blue Ridge Parkway. Hope this cabin is available for our next visit! We certainly will stay here again!

This cabin is amazing and truly feels like home! Many cabins i have stayed in fall short on that feeling of comfort, but certainly not here! Everything i needed for cooking 7 nights of meals was right at my fingertips. The beds were both very warm and cozy and the linens felt like 5 star hotel linens. The little yard was perfect for my dogs early in the morning and late in the evening, but the is far enough away from any major roads that I allowed them free roam of the mountainside throughout the day. The neighbor dogs came over to visit often and my two really enjoyed the extra company. The place was spotless when we arrived. The hot tub was large and very inviting. There are many trail heads an easy drive from the cabin, as well as numerous waterfalls and lookouts. And the blue ridge parkway entrance is literally just down the street. I could go on and on. The truest testament is a repeat visit and I plan on visiting this peace of heaven again as soon as time allows...

We have used VRBO for several vacations throughout the US and this was by far the best vacation we have had. This home is very nice- much nicer than the photos show. It is in a peaceful setting; very relaxful. The owners have thought of everything. Our dogs loved their vacation as well. They had a blast. The location was perfect for exploring the area. This was my first visit to the Smoky Mountains and I could not believe how beautiful they are. We hiked every day, explored Gatlinburg, and had a great time. The hot tub was wonderful after our daily adventures. We can not wait until our next visit. We will (hopefully) get to stay here, in this cabin, when we return. Loved it!

I was very pleased upon arrival to this cabin, it was so much more than I expected. The listing and photos just do not do it justice. The location is great, near Maggie Valley, Cherokee, and right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was just two of us visiting along with our two dogs, it was perfect for them as well with the fenced in back yard and locking gates to the wrap around deck. We chose to stay at the cabin and relax (not a lot of sightseeing), we went shopping and cooked at the cabin during our stay, everything we needed was there. We also enjoyed the hot tub, it was perfect on the cool nights and it was great to have music on the deck as well. This property was simple to rent, it was clean and very well appointed. I highly recommend this cabin.

Not one negative comment on this gorgeous, excellently appointed cabin. As the other reviewers have already mentioned, there is everything you could possibly need to have a wonderful relaxing time in the mountains. My boys loved hanging out and my husband and I loved the quietness of being so remote. I really cannot recommend this cabin enough. Jim and family you thought of everything :) Would definitely stay again - and loved having some great cd's to listen to :)

Loved the location. Pictures do not do this place justice, great view from the hottub! Cabin was roomy & loved the split plan bedrooms, very clean and had everything we needed. Very secluded but not far from anything. Neighbors dogs (Radar & Smoky) visited daily which gave me my dog fix, we left our dog at home for the week. Don't really know what else to say, it was a great vacation and will definitely come back!!

This cabin could not have been more perfect for my family of four. Not shown in the pictures is an adorable children's loft. My two children enjoyed that feature. This cabin has beautiful views inside and out. The weather at the cabin was quite nice, never going above the low 80's, even when it was very hot in the lower areas. The porch is a great place to relax, and a hammock is provided. The accommodation made this place feel like home. The location was great since my family loves Maggie Valley, Cherokee, Bryson City, and hiking from the Blue Ridge Parkway. The owners are very nice. Renting the cabin from them was a pleasant experience.

This cabin is unbelievable. My wife, children 6 and 8 yrs old and I had a blast. The cabin is better than described in VRBO. The cabin is very clean and more than fully furnished. Anything we needed in a kitchen was available and not cheap stuff either. A lot of the kitchen utensils and gadgets are pampered chef and all is high quality. As another person stated "the kitchen is very close to gourmet". The hot tub is very nice as are the grounds. The whole place is so well furnished, clean, personal and warm that we felt at home right away. Also gave us a feeling of responsibility to take care of it as if it is our own (and I wish it was our own). The loft is like a children's play heaven. It is loaded with items to entertain children. The games, cd's, dvd's, cable and wifi were entertaining for all of us. The location is awesome - secluded and quite yet convenient to so many places. Everytime we took a day trip our son kept asking, "when are we going back to the cabin?" My guess is this place will soon be hard to get as it far exceeds expectations and word of mouth travels fast. I hope we get to stay there again.

The most relaxed 4 day trip Hubby and I have ever experienced!! Did not leave the cabin, other than Starvin Marvins, to pick up ice for the Beer and wine. Even though very hot for NC mountains, much cooler than Columbia, SC!! Air conditioner was superb!! Cabin has everything you will need for preparing food, we brought all our food and cooked all our meals there. Cabin is very open and airy, view was a little obstructed by the trees, you could just see shadows of the mountains, But you knew they were there!! Jim said they were clearing some trees out this week, for a better view. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. We ran out of propane gas for grill and was immediately hooked up with another full tank, something you won't get at other vacation spots. Very pleased, can't wait to try out the larger home they have for rent as well. Will bring family next time !! If not, would love to stay on Thunderstruck road again. Be careful, very easy to miss the driveway down on the left!! We passed it twice....

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: The view from this cabin is absolutely fantastic, when the leaves are off. In the summer they do close it in a bit. Today we cut down 15 of the trees and are now cutting them up for free firewood! The views now are great even in the summer.

Our entire family (6 of us) loved the cabin. It's tucked away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and yet close enough to civilization. The cabin was warm and inviting and had everything that we needed. We love to cook, and found the kitchen well equipped for a vacation stay. We loved the deck that surrounds the cabin; it was nice to step outside and look out over the mountain, or to just sit and stare at the beauty of God's creation, while not really thinking about anything! It was the perfect get away for a family that needed to rest, but that also wanted some fun activities. We would definitely stay in this cabin again. We also met the owner who was very nice and helpful.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The fenced back yard was great for our dog as well as the deck's ability to be closed off. The cabin was great for our needs with 3 adults and 3 young grandchildren. The grandchildren were thrilled with the loft for both play and sleeping. Firewood was provided for the unique firepit and the hot tub is well placed, well maintained, and most enjoyable. The deck is inviting and usable for cooking, dining , or just relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. The gravel road to the cabin is not a deterent, whereas, it is appropriately maintained, easily traveled, and actually adds to the ambience. The hospitality of the host is most welcoming which provides an assurance to the enjoyment of the stay. The only reason we would be hesitant to reccomend this wonderful little cabin would be for the selfish reason that your visit might would boot us out of our next visit. Sincerely submitted, John

Very private and quiet, yet close to Maggie Valley, Cherokee and Waynesville. Was easy to book the cabin, fast email and telephone response; directions were great, no problem finding the cabin. Good location to day trip from - close, easy access to Blue Ridge Parkway and to the Cataloochee area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Very clean and well-equipped; the kitchen is near-gourmet - so wonderful to find great pots and pans, sharp knives and cutting boards as well as all normal small kitchen appliances. Nice washer/dryer if needed. The road up to the cabin is gravel, and the cabin is up a hill, but it was easily driven with our car, good road, no problem. We especially enjoyed sitting in the WONDERFUL hot tub on the wrap around deck. Nice TV package, CD's and DVD's, games, magazines, hammock, gas grill, fire pit and rockers - the owner's thought of everything! On our visit we drove the Blue Ridge to Asheville, NC, a beautiful 2 hour drive - visit Biltmore while there! Drove 2 1/2 hours to Grandfather Mountain. Visited Cataloochee Valley in Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Visited local towns of Waynesville and Dillsboro for a little antique-ing. Cherokee, NC and Harrah's Casino are minutes away. No lack of things to do in the area! Good bar-b-que in Waynesville at Fat Buddies Ribs & BarBQ and the Maggie Valley Restaurant had great family/southern cooking. Joey's Pancake House does indeed have great pancakes. If you are looking to spend a few days exploring the North Carolina side of the Smoky Mountains, this cabin is a great location to do so!

We chose this cabin for an after tax season getaway for my CPA husband and were so glad that we did! We had high expectations based on the pictures, but the cabin and location were even better than we had hoped. The cabin was immaculate, very well stocked and we felt right at home. We were tempted to stay at the cabin all weekend enjoying the views from the porch and hot tub, but also enjoyed the easy access to a beautiful section of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Great kitchen and grill for cooking if we wanted, but also close to the many good restaurant choices in Maggie Valley. Our dog also felt right at home, with the gated deck and fenced back yard to explore. We have highly recommended to others and plan to return in the fall.

Spent a wonderful Easter weekend with family at your cozy cabin! We cooked in some and grilled out on the deck! Great place to get reconnected with each other in addition to being a great place to hide Easter eggs! Loved spending time in the hot tub and reading while sunning out on the deck! A cousin of ours and a friend of hers were visiting the states for the first time, and while in NC, they wanted to see the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains! We were fortunate enough to find your cozy, centrally located cabin that was perfect for us! We easily took in Biltmore House, wine tasting at Antler Hill, and the night life of downtown Asheville! We made a day trip to the Museum of the Cherokee Indian in Cherokee and tried our luck at Harrahs! We packed a picnic and rode the Blue Ridge Parkway to SoCo Gap! It was comforting to know that no matter how exhausted we were when we got back to the cabin, we were able to relax in the hot tub (even though the temperatures went down into the teens) and get a great night sleep! Your fully stocked kitchen enabled us to easily cook in and enjoy the gorgeous views of the Smokies right from the cabin as well! Needless to say we had a great time and have already shared your location with friends! Thank you!
