About the owner: I'm a very honest, pleasing and helpful person. I love welcoming people as my special guests because I like that everyone feels like a friend and not like a client in this home. Because of this the needs of someone are always real important for me and satisfy them is not a duty but a privilege. I also am a passionated of Lisbon and just for this, invite people to come see this amazing city is one of my favourite pleasures. My home is opened to all that can love Lisbon at least so much as I do. I'm always ready to share my knowledge about the story of this place with my special guests, suggesting the best points to visit. It is why I am 24h available by phone to someone that needs to ask me something or for helping in whatever is needed. Having you here as a guest is not for a question of money, but for a question of culture. Permute our experiences and our knowlodge about the place we were born is much more than a hobby, in this moment is part of my way of life. Why the Owner Chose Lisbon:
Choosing living here (in Baixa) is actually, the biggest passion of my life... not only for me but mainly for the people who, like me, cannot live without the magic of this city.Here in the Monumental Historical City Center ('the Heart') of Lisbon we can see, feel or imagine how our ancestors used to live their glory days. We can find History in every street, every corner, every building and every stone, because all of them are full of memories...This feelings cannot be completely described, because emotions are better felt than explained. Recuperate this home was not the best thing that happened in my life but was also the best gift that I could give to the city that I most adore and made me really love people from other cultures, because Lisbon is always receiving people from everywhere. I can promise you that wherever you come from, here in Lisbon, you will always find something that is also from your Homeland, because this city is for sure one of the best places in the world where one visitor always feels like a resident when he arrives. For centuries we are welcoming people from the five continents... The richness of this home is its authenticity...It is why is so unique, because its antiquity gives it all the beauty of a century full of (good or not so good) memories. In this Home you can feel perfectly the soul of being Portuguese and imagine how many generations has lived here. Everything here has its own history and also has some story to tell or to show us... Nothing was destroyed to change or to hide its authenticity and everything was preserved, to show proudly the age of this home (as well as a monument try to show us the age of a past event). Here you can find all the evidences of the arquitecture (of almost) the last two centuries. If you love History, I'm sure you will feel yourself like in the paradise, observing all the antique characteristics of place that was born from an a idea in the mind of a man (Marquês Pombal), after a big earthquake, followed by a terrible tsunami (1755) has destroyed all this area and has changed forever the city center of Lisbon. The lovely yellow trams are the survivors and witnesses, since the beggining of the last century, of decades of social and political changes. Traveling in them, you may cross streets of History to know or to remember what has happened in this corner of Europe.
