We had a great time at your cottage. It is so nicely appointed. The flowers at each window and other places. Your attention to detail with children’s books, Video, wagon, etc. was exceptional. Sitting on the porch early morning listening to the birds chirping, rooster crowing and an unidentified call from some bird or animal was a treat. So peaceful, just what the doctor ordered as a place to get away and forget the rush of life and be renewed. The fireplace on a cold rainy day when we arrived lightened the dreary outside and was so cozy. We were only a 30 min drive to all the activity in commercial towns and so nice to come back and find peace and quiet. We were disappointed that the Smokey Mt. Nat. Park wouldn’t allow dogs on their hiking trails except for two, but it motivated us to explore the Cherokee Nat. forest and a state forest just outside of Newport and found sights and sounds equal or better than the national forest.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: Very glad to know that you found my home a comfortable place to stay. And you are right, the area does have many hidden, adventurous places as well to explore without the hassle, of crowds. Thank you for coming! Jimmy

My husband, mother in law and two boys spent part of spring break week here. The property is beautiful and very peaceful. We enjoyed mornings drinking coffee out on the deck and days out in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and hiking. We spent evening cooking home cooked meals in the well equipped kitchen. Everything was clean and nice. The kids enjoyed the DVD's and books at the cabin and my husband and I enjoyed evenings in the hot tub looking up at the stars. If you stay here do not miss the chance to have lunch or dinner at The Front Porch restaurant. Friendly staff, amazing food and top notch service! It's a very small place on your way in, but don't let it's size fool you. The food was absolutely amazing. Thank you Jim, for sharing your cabin with us!Owner response: You are Welcome.... My aim always is to make someone Happy! A friendly smile, a handshake, goes a long way. Peace to you and the family. Jimmy

My husband and I had not been on a "real" vacation in seven years, life just kept getting in the way. When I found this property on line, I was excited. It was everything we wanted in a vacation rental property: secluded, quiet, all inclusive. The cabin was quaint and provided all that we needed, right down to the pizza pan. The owners were helpful with any questions we had. The property was beautiful. We went in late October, so the leaves were changing...it was gorgeous and romantic. The weather was fabulous, not cold or hot... just right! We enjoyed resting and relaxing. The hot tub was super. We enjoyed sightseeing in the surrounding area. Lumberjacks dinner and show was such fun, and only a thirty minute drive to Pigeon Forge We can't wait to come back again, SOON!.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

My family and I stayed at the cabin back in April of 2012. We all had such a wonderful time then, so we thought the fall would be just a perfect time of year to return. When we arrived the owner met us at the cabin, and went through everything with us. We had wonderful days, traveling around the area. We went hiking, visited Gatlinburg, and Asheville NC. The evenings were just great, cooking outside and in the lovely kitchen. The living room has a big flat screen TV, with a beautiful fireplace. I can't leave out the hot tub at night. Wow! The cabin has always left in great condition for us, real clean and neat. We will be back again, around Christmas. God Bless the owner, he has a lovely place for a perfect vacation.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

I WAS PRETTY DISAPPOINTED, THE FIREPLACE DIDN'T WORK, THERE WASN'T A SAFE WAY TO GET INTO THE HOT TUB OUT BACK, THERE WERE SOME BRICKS PILED UP MAKING STEPS BUT THEY WERE NOT VERY SAFE, BUT THERE WAS ALSO A CAMERA ON THE BACK PORCH THAT FACED THE HOT TUB SO MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A BATHING SUIT, I WISHED WE WOULD HAVE JUST COVERED THE CAMERA WITH A TOWEL BUT WE DIDN'T THINK ABOUT IT AT THE TIME. WE WERE TOLD THE CAMERAS WERE THERE BECAUSE THERE HAD BEEN SOME BREAK-INS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. (SOMETHING THAT IF I HAD BEEN TOLD UP FRONT I NEVER WOULD HAVE RENTED IT IN THE FIRST PLACE) THE WORST PART WAS THE BATHROOMS WERE SO DIRTY. THE TUB HAD OLD SOAP IN IT, LIKE I WANT TO WASH MY FACE WITH SOMEONE ELSE'S SOAP THEY WASHED THEIR BUTT WITH, THE FLOOR OF THE SHOWER WAS BLACK AND HAD HAIR IN IT, AFTER CLEANING IT, IT ACTUALLY TURNED INTO A WHITE SHOWER, (VERY SMALL TOO) THE BATHROOM FLOOR ALSO HAD HAIR ON IT AND WAS DIRTY, THERE WERE COBWEBS HANGING 18 INCHES FROM THE CEILING, THATS NO LIE. I SPENT MY FIRST NIGHT CLEANING THE BATHROOM AND KITCHEN, AND THAT REALLY SUCKED ON MY VACATION TO HAVE TO CLEAN BEFORE I COULD EVEN FEEL COMFORTABLE. THE DOWNSTAIRS BATHROOM WAS REALLY SCARY, I DIDN'T EVEN USE THAT ONE AT ALL. AFTER I CLEANED EVERYTHING WE WENT ON AND HAD A GREAT TIME. THERE WAS A POOL TABLE THERE AND WE PLAYED POOL EVERY NIGHT WHICH WAS ABOUT THE BEST PART OF THIS HOUSE. WE REALLY ENJOYED THE MOUNTAINS AND THE WHITE WATER RAFTING, WE EVEN RENTED A PONTOON BOAT AT DOUGLAS LAKE, WE REALLY RECOMMEND GOING THERE, ITS BEAUTIFUL. ALSO CHECK OUT APPLEHOUSE RESTURANT, REAL GOOD COUNTRY FOOD. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING TO GATLINBURG CAUSE THERE IS SO MUCH TO SEE AND DO BUT STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE, THIS PLACE NEEDS A MAJOR CLEANING. PLUS THERE ISN'T A TV IN THE UPSTAIRS BEDROOM AND IT HAS VERY LIMITED CHANNELS ON THE OTHER TV'S. WE HAVE STAYED AT A LOT OF PLACES THAT WE HAVE RENTED FROM VRBO AND THIS WAS BY FAR THE WORST.Owner response: I think some FACTS, and, A REALITY CHECK IS NEEDED HERE. FACT: After each guest leaves we go through each room and wash the showers down. Both showers are left clean. FACT: When anyone arrives I walk them through the entire house, (which it is my practice to do, not only for their sake, but for ours also,) that if they have any questions or any issue's, they can have a chance to express that so we can correct it right then. We especially, point out both baths, the one downstairs is an especially nice walk-in all tiled Tan shower. Indeed their is a plumbers putty around the drain in the downstairs shower which only weeks ago was placed their to stop a leek coming from that shower. Which was corrected and the leek stopped. FACT: The hot tub is NOT to take a bath in! So please,do wear a bathing suit. I should think, that should go without saying, and for most does. FACT: Camera's are a good thing to have around the outside for everyone concerned. And they can also, be turned off if one wishes. FACT: We have four Televisions in a two bedroom house. Do I need to say more. FACT: We have been doing this almost for a year now, have had over two dozen guest already, some having come back two and even three times now, leaving notes, that were praiseworthy. As always we are open to new suggestions and indeed welcome them from our guest. Thank you!

The cabin is breath taking. It's on 2 private acres. It has everything you would ever need. The cabin has 2 fireplaces, central air and heat. The kitchen is modern and well equipped. Great for a family, with 2 huge bedrooms and a huge living room. The bathrooms were modern and very clean. It sleeps comfortably 6-8 people. The owner met us there and showed us around, and he left his phone number with us if we had any questions. The cabin also has beautiful new furniture, and is kept so clean. You will love it, and we will be back again real soon.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
