Exceptionally peaceful, picturesque location. Quaint, well-maintained 1930s home on edge of historic hamlet. Spectacular views of Superior & Huron Mountains from house, studio, 3 decks, & screened porch. Wake up to incredible sunrises, lie in the hammock and look up through a big old mountain ash, hearing the waves splash against the bluff. Eagles, hawks & seagulls soar along the shoreline. Below, loons dive for fish. Watch the fishing tug returning with its catch (hail it from the lighthouse pier with a 5-gallon pail & get fresh whitefish off the boat). See the stars in the dark night sky far from city lights. Build a bonfire in the fire pit or grill your whitefish on the BBQ.

Queen beds are in both upstairs bedrooms, along with single beds in each of the bedrooms' dormers with panoramic views of Lake Superior & the Huron Mountains. We use these dormer beds primarily to lounge on while taking in the great view of the bay and the Huron Mountains in the distance. Nice place for a nap or to read a book. There is a double bed in the downstairs bedroom. There is also a single bed in the detached cabin on the bluff.

Exceptionally quiet location at edge of small historic hamlet. From our 600-foot-long Lake Superior bluff, look up to see soaring eagles & hawks, look down to see loons diving for fish. Explore the amazing Keweenaw Peninsula: 3 of Michigan's most scenic drives, wonderful natural sand beaches, awesome vistas, historic sites, wonderful walks & hikes, interesting small towns with shops & good restaurants.
Year Purchased: 1997
About the owner: I've been publishing Michigan guidebooks since 1988. I saw this house the day it came on the market while researching our U.P. guidebook and immediately bought it because of the stunning views and pleasant home. Check out our website—Hunt's Guide to the Upper Peninsula.
Why the Owner Chose Lake Linden: I've travelled the state for decades with an eye out for fantastic vistas. This house has one of the most wonderful views I've ever seen! Perched on a sandstone bluff 32 feet above Lake Superior, the views—of the water, the clouds, the eagles & hawks, the distant Huron Mountains, the Abbaye Peninsula, the ice in winter, the waves crashing against the bluffs in November—never get old.
The Unique Benefits at this House: This home is remote & very quiet yet on the edge of a little village, so there's a safe sense of community. A surprising number of people from our previous hometown of Ann Arbor have also discovered how special it is here. There's no other spot quite like it in the Midwest. You immediately feel like you're in a very special place—calming & delightful.
