Classic Two-Story Victorian with mature landscaping and lots of outdoor amenities. Two large fenced-in side yards perfect for outdoor games, giant tree swing, and porch swing. Twenty-five foot round above ground pool with large deck, patio furniture and lounge chairs. Kid friendly. No cats please.
Indoors, find a comfortable Living/Dining area right off the well-equipped eat in Kitchen. Spice garden just outside of kitchen. Front Parlor is great for afternoon tea, board games, or relaxing with a good book. The Parlor can also be used as a fourth bedroom. Half Bath and laundry room off kitchen. Upstairs, 3 bedrooms can easily accommodate up to six people. More can be accommodated on couches or air mattresses. TV room with DirectTV satellite TV, DVD, VCR, and WiFi throughout the house, with an assortment of books, DVDs and VHS tapes for kids and adults. Window AC units and ceiling fans in all upstairs rooms. Full bath upstairs.
Relax and do nothing, sit on the porch and sip iced tea and listen to the birds. Lounge by the pool. Swing on the swing. Take a breath. Relax. Once you're done doing nothing, take a walk or a bike ride to the lake or the nearby rail trail. Close to the Appalachian and other great hiking trails. Go antiquing, stop by the bakery in nearby Salisbury, take in a movie in Millerton, see a show at TriArtsPlayhouse in Sharon, go to a NASCAR race at LimeRock Park. On the way home, stop by Whipporwill farm just down the road for some grass fed beef, grill it up and enjoy it on the screened in porch, while the sun sets over the hills in the distance.
It's a beautiful place. We love it and we think you will, too.

We had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful house last summer. The grounds are lush with plenty of space to play frisbee, baseball, or just lounge around. The town grove is a short bike ride away with great facilities including a nice sandy beach, but we mostly loved jumping into our own pool! Also, Kathy is a dream to deal with.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

About the owner: I grew up in a small town full of grass, trees, and people who looked you in the eye when they talked to you. It was a great place to grow up, but after college I decided to try my hand at a big city. I moved to New York, intended to stay a few years and then move on, but now, over twenty years later, I'm still here and I love it. But in 2009, with a growing family in a NYC apartment, we decided to invest in a place outside town. We found Lakeville and immediately fell in love with the town, the people, and a wonderful two-story Victorian just outside of town. We bought our place in 2009, and we love it. This summer we're going to do a little traveling elsewhere, so we decided to share the joy of our property with others.
Why the Owner Chose Lakeville:
We're a short walk to the Town Grove where all the families in town hang out in the summer. You really feel like you've stepped back in time to a small town in the 60's. Lifeguards get to know everyone at the lake. Kids ride their bikes and buy ice cream from coolers in the grove 'office'. There is boating and kayaking, and evening events throughout the summer.
We're a short distance from Lime Rock Park, with car races all summer.
We're close to the rail trail, and a short bike ride down the road will take you to Whipporwill Farm. This farm has grass fed beef, fresh eggs, and the most amazing soccer dog, Maggie.
In the evenings, have dinner on the screen porch and watch the sunset, or head out to Tri-Arts Theater in Sharon for live theater or the Moviehouse in Millerton just a few miles away. We're also a short drive from the Berkshires with Tanglewood, Kripalu and all the other Berkshire attractions.
