This fully furnished house has just been completely renovated and had all new appliances installed. It also has a DVD player, cable TV, CD players with usb ports for iphones or mp3 players, and wi-fi. Now all it needs is food and happy renters ! Bring your pets and enjoy the beautiful park and lake across the street or take to one of the numerous trails around the area. After all, Minneapolis boasts of having the most bike paths and trails of any metro area.
Just on the outskirts of the Twin Cities, this nice little get-away cottage is just steps from the beautiful Lake Minnetonka and a short drive from innumerable activities and sites in the Minneapolis- St. Paul area. Enjoy the quietude of this beautiful city on the lake with its delightful shops and restaurants or take a quick drive into the city and enjoy all it has to offer !

This is a very comfortable property and generously stocked. The description and photos are accurate and it was sheer delight to stay here! It is a cute town and easy walking distance to all shops and restaurants. The park (with swimming beach) is just across the street. Looking forward to our next visit.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+.

We found the property just as described and pictured, recently renovated! Kitchen was remarkable with upgraded appliances. PET FRIENDLY!! The home is FULLY stocked with linens, towels, soaps and kitchen items. The property manager Sarah was quite helpful and accessible via phone, text, email. This home offered us the opportunity to be as close the lake as we could afford. Rates were very reasonable. We enjoyed walking the park/beach area right across the street, and all the nearby restaurants. Highly recommend Yumi's Sushi - excellent! Also rented a pontoon boat for a day from Rockvan(sp?) marina/mid-week special was very affordable. I would definitely recommend this property to one couple or couple with 1 child. Only 1 queen bed, with an additional trundle bed in loft. We wanted to re-rent it for later this summer, but is booked through Aug. of 2013. Only concern was: the only AC is upstairs, and it took us a day to figure out how to keep the main floor cool through use of the AC and ceiling fans, and bought two additional floor fans at Target: but usually not that hot on the lake.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+.

(An email review) Hello, I just wanted to thank you for the use of your cottage in Excelsior Friday night. I loved the interior design, retro furniture and what you did with the all the remodeling. My son came out and we went to dinner at the Irish restaurant downtown - the food was excellent. It was so nice to be able to walk everywhere. Saturday morning I got up about 6:30 and could not believe all the people jogging, walking and biking at that time of day! It was a nice inspiration to get out and exercise! There also was a triathlon Saturday morning - we could see the swimmers from the front window. It was a really nice get away after a very busy week at work (and not too far to drive). This cottage was the perfect setting for our "Girls Weekend". We really did find it very charming, inviting, and relaxing. The location is wonderful! Just across the street from the lake and park, and just a few minutes walk to downtown Excelsior. It was nice to be able to just walk downtown for dinner, shopping, or coffee. We really enjoyed our stay, and would love to have to chance to visit again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We just spend a week in the cottage and found it to be extremely inviting and comfortable, as described. it was pleasantly well stocked with necessities when we got there. The air conditioning worked well when needed. The home location is perfect in Excelsior and just a short drive into Minneapolis when desired. We really enjoyed walking the regional trail around the lake, and found several restaurants within walking distance that we enjoyed. Sarah was so pleasant to work with, and went out of her way to assist when needed. We plan to return here for our next visit to the Minneapolis area!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+.

About the owner: Excelsior is a charming city that has the feel of a community rather than a suburb. Some of our favorite pass times are sailing, boating, biking, walking, antiquing and playing with our 2 dogs in the huge park across the street. 21 is where we will retire.
Why the Owner Chose Excelsior:
We love the quiet small town feel but Excelsior also becomes busy and fun for family and friends during the summer. The 4th of July is a big event here and this home is right in the heart of it. After completely renovating the house, we decided to rent it out to families looking for a lake retreat, just 25 minutes away from downtown Minneapolis.
