this was the perfect house for us. so close to a marvellous beach. saw the wed. late afternoon sailing that happens every week. the house was perfect. clean, bright, great colors. the owner was wonderful. we will definitely return. our granddaughter LOVED the hottub. we watched the cormorants across the street building their nests and we saw a night heron on the wires right by the house. the neighborhood is great. friendly people and as i said..... the location is perfect. Definitely a winner. we were there for 5 nights and it was worth every penny.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

What a great time we had at this fabulous rental! The house was even better than pictures showed! We went with 2 kids ages 12 and 14. The 12 year old LOVED the hot tub. The patio has chairs that you can sit on and enjoy a glass of wine and visit while watching kids. The ocean is literally one block away. You can see it from the driveway of the house and smell the ocean. It is a fabulous ocean. We ran on the beach each morning. You can see a lighthouse in the distance- such a charming view. We walked on the rocks that stretch out into the ocean and found several starfish. A fun adventure for the 12 year old boy! Ate 3 times at the Crows Nest which is in walking distance. It has great food, drinks, to DIE for view that overlooks the ocean and reasonable prices. Enjoyed the live band. Spent a day at the boardwalk and fished- just a few minute drive away. Such a great clean place and great location. The owner is amazing. She left us a note with all the info we needed as well as a bottle of wine and a popcorn snack for kids. Also left a blow up matress so we all slept comfortably. Very attentive and kind. Definately would stay here again! A beach charmer!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This is the cutest cottage and the location is excellent. We love the harbor area. It's our favorite area to stay in Santa Cruz. With in walking distance to all our favorite eating spots and a great beach to watch/play volley ball, stroll/jog on, or beach fires at night. We even took an easy but long stroll to downtown for a movie. Nancy is great to work with. We'll be back for sure.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful stay in this beach cottage! Having two bedrooms on opposite sides of the house, with a bathroom in each bedroom, was perfect for us since it was my partner, myself, our daughter and my mom staying for two weeks. The cottage owner was able to provide us with a highchair and pack 'n play, which was much appreciated so we did not need to lug anything of this nature with us. The cottage location was ideal, being a couple blocks from the beach and harbor while being tucked into a quiet side street. The neighborhood was also lovely with most of the properties nearby being permanent residences with very friendly neighbors. Last, but not least, the wireless signal was consistent and strong, which was necessary since both my partner and I were primarily in Santa Cruz for work. Overall, we had a wonderful stay, enjoying morning and evening strolls on the Twin Lakes Beach, grabbing a coffee at the Kind Grind in the harbor, and sipping a glass a wine on the back deck under the star-filled night sky.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Nancy was great to work with - very responsive to our questions and the place delivered! Wonderfully decorated and comfortable and the hot tub was great. Also easy enough for our 5 year old and 80 year olds to walk to the beach :) The coffee shop down at the beach opens early so fun to go out and get pastries in the morning....also wonderful to park and leave the car once we were there. We'll be back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We booked the cottage on 9th for a short stay over New Years. I lived in SC for about 7yrs and knew exactly where I wanted to be: walking distance to the sweetest beach, lively restaurants, a short stroll to the lovely harbor and peace/quiet. If you do any research on the area, you know that vacation rentals are the way to go if you want a clean, spacious and convenient home away from home-even for just a few days its much better than a hotel. The hot tub was already warmed up, the place spotless and cozy and Nancy was amazing the whole way through from booking to staying to leaving...we'll definitely be back :)Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My friend and I could not have picked a better cottage for the weekend. Wonderful location and beautifully decorated. The private patio and hot tub helped relax the tired body and mind. From the thoughtful owner to the comfortable bed it was a perfect fit. Hope to be back for longer next time.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We absolutely loved our weekend at the cottage. Located on a quiet street, a block from Twin Lakes beach!! We walked over to watch the bonfires at night, drank coffee at the oceanfront Kind Grind, kayaked in the harbor and the ocean and plenty more. The cottage was exactly as it looks in the pictures if not better! It was bright, clean, cozy, beachy and equipped with everything we needed. We were 2 couples and the house was perfect since the bedrooms are located at opposite ends of the cottage and each has a bathroom attached. Nancy was very great to work with and communication was quick and easy. We are all still dreaming of our time in Santa Cruz in this feel-good cottage - we will definitely be back!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This house is a true gem and Nancy was a pleasure to work with. The location could not be better as you are just a few blocks away from the beach, but far enough away from the busier streets as to provide calm and quiet. The house is wonderfully (and cheerfully) furnished in a sweet beachy feel. There were all the amenities we needed and the hot tub was such a treat! Our group of ladies was able to walk down the street to eat, paddle board, and enjoy the beach. I would definitely recommend The Beach House to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay in Santa Cruz. We will definitely be back (there was talk of a yearly reunion)!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

For our honeymoon, my wife and I decided to spend a week in the Cottage on 9th. Nancy was extremely helpful with arranging our stay, and gave us all of the information that we needed with plenty of detail and personal touches. We arrived to the adorable cottage, with the ocean shimmering one block away. The cottage was even tidier and more colorful than Nancy's pictures. It was everything that we needed to cook delicious meals with Santa Cruz's amazing produce, store our mountain bikes after a hard ride and pull our little red wagon of beach things one block for a day on the sand. The cottage's location is great for the beach, as well as dining, hiking/biking, as well as access to downtown. Verve coffee (our favorite place in the world, perhaps) has just opened a shop in their roasting warehouse, only about 1/2 mile away. The backyard at the cottage was great for an outdoor breakfast and the hot tub was definitely needed after a couple chilly beach days. Twin Lakes Beach is a really great spot, with restaurants, bars and coffee shops nearby. We also rented stand-up paddleboards from the SUP Shack, and paddled around the harbor and coast. We also decided on a spa day during our trip and spent the most relaxing and romantic day at The Well Within Spa, downtown, getting massages, aromatherapy and then a private hot tub, sauna and japanese garden room for 3 hours. The food in Santa Cruz was amazing: Oswalds, 151, Mobo Sushi, Le Cigare Volant (Great Bonny Doon wine as well) - all delicious - and Companion Bakery, Emilys Bakery, Kellys Bakery, Trader Joes and a multitude of great organic farms and co-ops filling in everything else that we could possibly want. Overall, the trip was wonderful. The cottage couldn't have been more perfect for a week of relaxation, eating and adventuring.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
