2300 square foot cedar cabin. Centrally located to access Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, or the Townsend/Cades Cove areas.
My favorite part of our location is that we are close to anything in the area, almost centrally located. But once you leave Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg to head to the cabin, the heavy traffic ceases and you leave that behind for the peace and beauty of the mountains, all in the matter of just 10 minutes. You get the best of both worlds.
We have tried to make this cabin enjoyable for all ages. Kids can play in the game room and the adults enjoy conversation, games, or TV in the den above. Swing, rock, or eat outside on one of the four decks. Read a book on the main deck while swinging or just relaxing and enjoy the quiet of the outdoors.
Cabin has 3 levels, one bedroom/bath each level.
Kitchen/den/dining on main level with master bedroom. Master bedroom has kingsize bed and its own bath, along with a separate Jacuzzi tub.
The lower level has a large Game room with pool table, air hockey, 42 inch TV, video arcade game and darts, with separate bedroom/bath with 2 queen beds. The couch in game room is a sofa sleeper. Off the game room is a private deck and hot tub.
The upper level has a bedroom with queen bed, bath, deck, and extra room with TV and sofa sleeper. We enjoy sitting on the front decks and viewing the other cabins and the lights at night, or sitting on the back decks (or in hottub) and being at peace with nature.

Each level has a deck with the main level having a deck which wraps around two sides and a separate deck off the master bedroom in front. There is also a Jacuzzi in the master bedroom.
The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you could want, glass top range with oven timer if you want to cook while enjoying the area.
At times our children and guests are content to just enjoy the cabin and never do the tourist stuff, and at times they spend all day in nature, shopping, or enjoying Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg.

We have been visiting the Smokey Mountains for over 30 years. We have stayed in motels and many different cabins during these visits. We love staying in Wears Valley and we were looking for a larger cabin because this visit was the first time our whole family would be vacationing together. We also have small dogs that would be traveling with us. We were not disappointed with "Mountain Views" cabin. The cabin is beautiful, spacious and the amenities were right on target. The cabin was clean and well decorated. Photos are great, but not as beautiful as the cabin is in person. Our children, grandchildren and even adults enjoyed the game room. We loved the decks! You could sit in the chairs and watch the snow, rain and beautiful mountains in comfort. Our dogs loved the decks, they could be outside yet not be in danger of traffic or wandering off. We could view the beautiful sunrises and sunsets from these decks. We loved the peace and quite. We could be in Pigeon Forge within 10 minutes. We were only a short drive to Cades Cove and Gatlinburg. We had 3 days of snow, which was beautiful. Brian was very helpful in making this vacation possible for us. He always responded quickly when we had any questions. We will and have already recommended this cabin to our friends. I am sure they will not be disappointed with this beautiful cabin. If our health permits, we would love to visit Mountains Views again. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Owner response: We were somewhat hesitant when we left a management company to list with VRBO. This is almost the end of our first year. With the exception of one renter, our renters have been so very kind and helpful. This renter is a wonderful example of that. He let me know my grill tank was almost empty and I would not have known to have the cleaner change it if not for that. He and his wife were both so very complimentary. He and so many others like him have made the last year the best cabin year we have had, and we look forward to the coming years.

I recently stayed at this property. I found out with short notice I had family coming in from out of town. I found this cabin and emailed the owner. He immediately contacted me and quickly took care of my registration. We LOVED the cabin. It was beautiful, clean, and very well stocked. We made a game out of trying to find something we needed that wasn't there. The winner was scissors (we didn't even need them LOL). After we arrived I was so delighted with the accommodations I texted and asked to extend our stay an extra night. He was wonderful!!! I have and will continue to recommend to everyone that if you stay in the Pigeon Forge area this is the place to stay!!! Thank you for an amazing place to share and make memories <3

Owner response: We are delighted we could help in the 'nick of time'. I am amazed at the communication we have today. 8 years ago when I bought this cabin, I don't know if we could have done the paper work, credit card work, directions to cabin, etc., but texting and email are wonderful, even if both people are working. The renter was a delight to work with and we hope she will come again.

Loved this cabin. Scenic views of other cabins from the front of the cabin, and secluded with some mountain views from back of cabin with main deck. Hot tub very secluded which was nice and private. A lot to do for the kids and the noise of the gameroom did not leak upstairs where we adults stayed. Log cedar beds - cabin furniture. Good quality furniture in the den - looks new. A lot of appliances in the kitchen - we did a lot of cooking. Everything was clean and ready to live in and have fun!! We will definitely return soon.

Do not stay at this cabin! We recently rented this cabin and were told by the owner that we could check in early on the day of arrival. To start out, when we arrived, the cabin had not even been cleaned yet and was filled with trash. The bonus room in the loft was filled with dead bees. I spoke with the owner and he informed me that he would send the cleaners which he did. Unfortunately, all they did was remove the trash and sweep up the dead bees. I was told by the cleaners that they would drain the hottub and sanitize it, yet when we returned an hour later, there was no evidence (water on ground) that the tub had been drained. It did reek of a strong chlorine smell. There was dust on just about every available surface and spider webs in most of the windows. The couches and chairs on both the main level as well as downstairs were filthy and we were still concerned about the fact that there were dead bees lying about and we had 6 children with us. The owner's response in regard to the bees was that there are bees in the woods and they will get in the house sometimes. While a bee or two might be expected, surely not a colony in a bedroom that is advertised as being ideal for children. Spoke with the owner and requested a refund due to the condition and he flat out denied the request. I again expressed our dissatisfaction at the condition of the cabin and asked him to do the "right thing" and he again refused. I advised him that unfortunately we would have no recourse but to leave a negative review on his website regarding the conditions and his words were "Well, the beauty of VRBO is that I can dispute anything you write." While that may be true to an extent, he cannot dispute the conditions of the cabin and future renters will surely find this out. Once the negative reviews pile up, he will have no choice but to address the problems. Throughout our stay, we became aware of more issues. We had to close off the loft bonus room because the bees kept returning by the dozens, leaving us short a sofa sleeper. When we opened the dresser in the bedroom on the lower level, we found that it had rodent droppings in it. The cabin capacity is 12 people, yet the toilet tissue ran out within a day and a half. Thankfully there was a store nearby. The smoke alarm beeped continously due to a dying battery. All of the decks could use pressure washing or atleast a good sweeping. All in all, I would strongly recommend NOT renting this cabin

Owner response: Our cabin checkin time is at 3:00pm. This renter had asked if they could check in early and I replied if no one had left that day and if it was clean a few hours early would be fine. Renter called me at 9:00 am and told me she was there and that the cabin was trashed. I called my cleaner and it was on her schedule to clean that morning, which was routine. The renter demanded a refund stating that the cabin could not be cleaned in time - it was trashed. I told her if the cleaner confirmed that we would give her a refund, but the cleaner needed to see it first. (My cabin had never been trashed, but there is always the first time. However, this was not it.). The renter then told me the furniture in the den was very old (the couch is 15 months old and the recliner is 1 month old). She told me the cabin could not have been cleaned in at least 3 months. Our cabin has rented very well and we had no complaints all summer. It was constantly rented in October with no complaints. Plus, we had been at the cabin about 5 weeks previous and knew it was spic and span when we left. I left a message for my cleaner to call me when she reviewed the cabin. She did and stated it was a normal cleaning, not trashed. I then informed the renter if they would go somewhere and let the cleaner clean, she would be done by 1:00 and if it was not clean, to call me and we could then talk about a refund. My cleaner texted 90 min - 2 hr that it was clean. The renters arrived back and I received a phone call that evening. Not a word was said about the cleanliness of the cabin, they needed to know how to get the TVs working. They were on the wrong channel. After the cleaning, that is all I heard from the cleaners about the cabin. If the renters had come when check in time was, they would have had no problem. They saw the way some leave the cabin and I suspect this was a situation that the renter saw the cabin dirty and did not think someone could clean it in time, and did not know that it was surface trash, nothing else. AFter they returned, they had nothing left to complain about, and did not. We shampoo our carpets and couches throughout the year and I asked the cleaner if they needed done (had been done about a month ago). She said, no, they were still clean. Likewise, the hottub is drained, refilled and chlorinated, which is why she smelled chlorine. I thank my renters who come back time and again. I'm sorry this renter came early.

This cabin was beautiful and located in a peaceful atmosphere. Our family enjoyed. With the exception of garbage on property from previous guests, which was never removed during our stay, made us a little concern about the cleaniness of the cabin itself (e.g. linen change, clean towels, etc.). Owner was contacted about situation and he was pleasant and thankful for information. Overall, enjoyable. I would stay again and I would recommend this cabin to others as a great vacation stay.

We were looking for a cabin that was in good condition and in a good location, and this cabin is it. We liked the fact that we were only 15 minutes from the conveniences of either Gatlingburg or Pigeon Forge, but in Wears Valley there is both quiet and beauty. On one end, this cabin overlooks a beautiful mountain range, but through the seclusion of trees; plus on the other end there are a few scattered cabins on the hilltop, giving it a "community" feel. We liked the yard in front and the privacy in back. Inside the layout is very good for either families or for just one couple. The master suite has plenty of room, plenty of storage, and a nice bathroom. The downstairs has a nice gameroom and private bedroom (with two queen beds), plus its own bathroom. The loft also has a queen bed with its own bathroom - a plus for us. We can bring our entire family (two married kids with children) and still have plenty of room. I also liked the neighborhood. Dogwood Farms is a highly sought-after area, and they keep the roads and landscaping in very good shape. The owner is very nice and easy to work with. You will enjoy your stay here very much!

Last year we broke away from the hotel staying habit and decided to try renting a cabin. We have 4 children and they always want to bring friends, so even booking hotel suites was crowded. The first cabin we rented was okay - but nothing to get excited about. I'm glad we tried again! This cabin was amazing! We were only in the area for 3 days and the 'kids' (ages 15-23) all voted to not leave the cabin on the second day. They 'hiked' around the neighborhood and saw incredible views. The downstairs game room kept everyone busy. Electronic darts, a pool table, air hockey, the arcade console - and then we played a couple of board games upstairs at the table! The kitchen was well stocked and the bear decorations were everywhere and so cute. Plenty of sleeping space and everything is in great condition. On the decks, you could rock on the covered front deck, swing on the covered side deck or sit at the tables on the back deck. Oh, yes, and then there is the hot tub on the deck off the game room! So much to do - the only thing we lacked was more time to enjoy it all! Brian was very helpful and available every time we called (like when we followed the GPS and got lost . . . ) Hopefully we can come back in the fall for a longer visit!

                      Owner info

                      Year Purchased: 2005

About the owner: I am a Mental Health Counselor and my wife is in accounting. We live in Mississippi but both parents live in Tennessee, just on opposite ends of the state. We have three children, two married and on their own, and one just starting college. Our youngest son has 'grown up' with the cabin, while our other two were already finishing high school or in college, so they are just now beginning to experience the cabin with their families.

Why the Owner Chose Wears Valley:
One of our parents live in East Tennessee, so we began visiting the Gatlinburg area when we came to see them and fell in love with the area. I especially like Wears Valley because it is close to the bustle of Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg but has the tranquility of the mountains. There seems to be endless diversity to what you can do there. We bought the cabin so we could have a place to come and relax when we wanted to get away for a few days.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The cabin is peaceful and relaxing to me. I have all the luxuries of home (and a few more). Can watch TV, surf the internet, quietly read, or play games. One of the high lights of our year is going to the cabin in late October, early November with two couples who are retired and dear friends of ours. We play cards, decorate for Christmas, and are able to get away from our normal lives. The cabin is large enough to invite others to come with us, but small enough for just the two of us, if that's what we want.
