Wears Valley cabin description
2300 square foot cedar cabin. Centrally located to access Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, or the Townsend/Cades Cove areas.
My favorite part of our location is that we are close to anything in the area, almost centrally located. But once you leave Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg to head to the cabin, the heavy traffic ceases and you leave that behind for the peace and beauty of the mountains, all in the matter of just 10 minutes. You get the best of both worlds.
We have tried to make this cabin enjoyable for all ages. Kids can play in the game room and the adults enjoy conversation, games, or TV in the den above. Swing, rock, or eat outside on one of the four decks. Read a book on the main deck while swinging or just relaxing and enjoy the quiet of the outdoors.
Cabin has 3 levels, one bedroom/bath each level.
Kitchen/den/dining on main level with master bedroom. Master bedroom has kingsize bed and its own bath, along with a separate Jacuzzi tub.
The lower level has a large Game room with pool table, air hockey, 42 inch TV, video arcade game and darts, with separate bedroom/bath with 2 queen beds. The couch in game room is a sofa sleeper. Off the game room is a private deck and hot tub.
The upper level has a bedroom with queen bed, bath, deck, and extra room with TV and sofa sleeper. We enjoy sitting on the front decks and viewing the other cabins and the lights at night, or sitting on the back decks (or in hottub) and being at peace with nature.
Each level has a deck with the main level having a deck which wraps around two sides and a separate deck off the master bedroom in front. There is also a Jacuzzi in the master bedroom.
The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you could want, glass top range with oven timer if you want to cook while enjoying the area.
At times our children and guests are content to just enjoy the cabin and never do the tourist stuff, and at times they spend all day in nature, shopping, or enjoying Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg.

The cabin was very clean and with 3 levels we could all have our own privacy!!!!! As we were arriving we got a little lost( thanks to GPS) and contacted the owner. He helped us get back on track!!! We stay in this cabin every fall (three families). I think this was our 6th year. We eat, shop and play cards. The cabin was clean and orderly. We didn't see our raccoon by put heard him one night. We like tat the back of the cabin is secluded and the front has other cabins visible. The leaves were gorgeous and the views great. We will stay here again next year.

The views were great, but the cabin could have been cleaner. Whoever is in charge of cleaning needs to step it up a notch. Also, the hot tub was not functioning properly, until I discovered that the intake filter was clogged with leaves. It works fine now. We love the Smokies, we will be back again

Owner response: I was so glad to read this. Another renter had told me he Hottub was not working as it should. I had called a Hottub repair service and they came out the afternoon of this arrival and found nothing wrong. Obviously they did not check much, including the filter. I need to pay you the repair bill and not them. Thanks for fixing it.

My Family and I rented this cabin and it was wonderful. The location is perfect for those who want the privacy of being in a home in the mountains and just a short 10 to 15 minute drive to Pigeon Forge to enjoy all the town had to offer. The Cabin is very clean and has all you need as if you were at home. We loved the fire place and my 22 month old son and 3 year old nephew just loved the Christmas Tree. It was wonderful to come back from town and be able to enjoy the hot tub. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a peaceful trip tot he mountains with the comforts of home. My family and I had such a great time we hope to be able to make this our annual Halloween trip vacation spot.

my wife rented this cabin with my father in law and a close family friend we all split it! we arrived on October 9th and departed on October 15th! this place is very peaceful and my review is not to make it out to be bad but nearly all of our complaints there was 10 of us total so here they are! the trees off the back deck on the main level need trimmed down then you would have a great view in the morning on the swing! there is no local channels on the dish so you cant check local weather or watch nfl games on Sunday! the internet service is real slow (we had our own thank goodness)! the trash cans are on the main level and the raccoon's came every night but 1 and would knock off the piece of ply wood and rocks trash all over the side of the hill! the game room know pool table rails are all dead and pool table is braced together with steel straps bolted to legs! the arcade could not be played cause the joy stick being moved cause the whole panel to pull up! none of the console games would play long be4 freezing up! the hot tube would just kick off and you would have to get out and reset the breaker (this was also noted on instructions when we arrived)! we also got to meet the dog next door bella she was very friendly and played well with our kids and our dog saddie! as i stated it was very peaceful and we enjoyed the time we had in gatlinburg and the smoky mountains wife and i renewed or vows and shared our 10 year anniversary with kids family and friends! we all made it clear we would not rent this cabin again sorry!

Owner response: This is the first conversation I have had from this individual who must have stayed with the renters. I'm glad everything he found was minor and that he enjoyed his stay. Let me touch on his points: 1. Trees need trimmed. Thankfully our cabin was booked fairly solid for the summer, and it was a wet summer. Saplings grew. We were at the cabin in late September to monitor a deep clean and then again a few days after this renter stayed. Because it was so booked, we had not been there since the first of May. I saw the same and have a crew ready to trim the saplings the first of December. 2. No local channels. We are on dish network and have never had local channels. Of course, there are 500 other channels to watch. There is no cable on the mountain. 3. Raccoons. There are Raccoons around. The frame the trash cans are in have been there for years, but the raccoons have obviously figured out how to move large stones. We are having another frame build with a latchable lid on top. 4. Pool table. A few years ago renters moved our pool table, dragging the legs, and when we saw it I was surprised the table had not fallen on someone. We had new legs made and installed and I had them braced so if someone moved the table again there would be no danger of the table falling. 5. I was there a few days after this renter and the arcade worked fine. In fact, I spent an hour or so playing on it. 6. When there the last of September, we noticed the hot tub was shut off. I turned the breaker off and then back on (it was not tripped) and then it worked fine. I warned the next few renters in case it happened again. I noticed when we were there after this renter, a sensor or one of the heating elements is out. We are in the process of having that fixed and back to full heat instead of partial heat. This seemed to have just begun as we knew nothing about it. 7. Internet. DSL and Broadband cable are not available in this area. That's what being on mountains are all about. We have Hughesnet which is almost as fast as DSL (they claim they are as fast). We caution against downloading movies and a lot of music as you can go over the allotted amount and it will be slow for 24 hours. We caution renters not to do this. Normal internet usage will not go over the allotted amount. 8. I also met the dog next door a few days ago. She is friendly. I'm glad this renter did enjoy their stay and appreciate helping us keep our cabin at 100%.
Excellent Summer Family Vacation!
Excellent Summer Family Vacation!
The cabin was perfect! Clean and well equipped with all the items needed to entertain an entire family…Plenty of room for everybody, beautiful scenery and no critters to interrupt your sleep or the fun. The owner, Mr. Galloway impressed us all. We texted him on Sunday because the A/C stopped working (we unplugged the thermostat by mistake) and he promptly answered. Thank you….Recommended to any age group……

LOVE this place!
LOVE this place!
We absolutely loved staying here. Not only are the rates great, but the owner has been extremely nice in answering our questions about anything we needed to know before and during our stay. The cabin was HUGE, with lots of space for sleeping, as well as the four porches/decks. Everybody had their own "space" if they needed a little "me" time. Very clean. A permanent resident up the road said there had been a black bear, I believe, on the property we stayed on...was hoping we would see one, but only saw a little rabbit! Would highly recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for a super place to stay.

Owner response: Thank you. This renter, like all the ones we have had this summer have been so nice. We had had a worry free summer until this client texted one evening that there was no water. After panicking, I found someone who did well maintenance, and he came right out and replaced a pressure value and got it going again. This renter kept me abreast of what was going on and relieved my worries for them. Thanks so much!
Your cabin was wonderful! We could not have asked for a better place to stay. Everything we needed and more was available at the cabin. The cabin is large with plenty of room and the game room was a great plus! Nice and quite, but close enough to all the attractions. We would love to come back and stay again!

About the owner: I am a Mental Health Counselor and my wife is in accounting. We live in Mississippi but both parents live in Tennessee, just on opposite ends of the state. We have three children, two married and on their own, and one just starting college. Our youngest son has 'grown up' with the cabin, while our other two were already finishing high school or in college, so they are just now beginning to experience the cabin with their families.
Why the Owner Chose Wears Valley:
One of our parents live in East Tennessee, so we began visiting the Gatlinburg area when we came to see them and fell in love with the area. I especially like Wears Valley because it is close to the bustle of Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg but has the tranquility of the mountains. There seems to be endless diversity to what you can do there. We bought the cabin so we could have a place to come and relax when we wanted to get away for a few days.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The cabin is peaceful and relaxing to me. I have all the luxuries of home (and a few more). Can watch TV, surf the internet, quietly read, or play games. One of the high lights of our year is going to the cabin in late October, early November with two couples who are retired and dear friends of ours. We play cards, decorate for Christmas, and are able to get away from our normal lives. The cabin is large enough to invite others to come with us, but small enough for just the two of us, if that's what we want.
