Putnam Station cottage description
Spend some time in our quiet cove swimming, fishing, boating or just enjoying the spectacular view of the Adirondack Mountains across the lake.
Our cottage is in a secluded spot a half mile from Gull Bay on the northeastern shore of Lake George just 10 miles south of Ticonderoga.
There is something for everyone to enjoy in this quiet part of Lake George. For boating enthusiasts, the cottage has a covered boat house that will accommodate a boat up to 23 feet long. There is a public boat launch a half mile down the road and a marina just across the lake. If you like to fish from your boat, bass fishing is excellent in and near our cove, or you can fish from the dock.
For those who love swimming you can dive in from the dock or enter more gradually from the shore. There is also a sandy public beach a half mile away. Or you can boat to one of the many islands in the lake for swimming and a picnic.
If hiking is your passion there is the challenging climb up Black Mountain or the easier hike up nearby Buck Mountain. There are also many trails to the lake and the Adirondack Mountains a short drive away.
Nearby Ticonderoga has all the supplies you might need. You also might visit the historic Fort Ticonderoga or take the ferry across Lake Champlain to Vermont.
If you like to just relax, the cottage has the dock as well as two decks. The sunny deck has a table and chairs with an umbrella so you can spend the day relaxing. The cottage is built right above the edge of the lake and the entire front wall has windows spanning the building providing an amazing view and sunset. The cottage has an open plan and newly renovated, fully equipped kitchen.
This location is so comfortable and relaxing you may never want to leave!

An amazing place to stay
An amazing place to stay
I came here with three of my childhood friends. We had an amazing time. The house was perfect! The views were amazing. The water in the lake was crystal clear. The porch was perfect for sitting and enjoying the scenery. We took the canoe out for a spin which was really fun. The house is very cozy and comfortable and there was actually quite a bit to do around the area. Ticonderoga was a super cute little town with a delicious breakfast place (The wagon wheel). There was an apple orchard, Billy Bob's orchard, just a short 10 minute drive away which was a treat for us Florida girls. We also took a trip to a local winery on the Hudson river to sample the local grapes : ) I wish we would have had more time here to explore the local hiking and the Ticonderoga Fort. We drove past the fort and it looked amazing. I can't wait to come back. Rich was very accommodating and easy to work with. The whole experience was very pleasant and I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation spot with lots of outdoors activities.

This was our second year at the cottage!! Absolutely beautiful every time we come. Plan in doing this again. The cove was quiet and relaxing and the view is stunning. Great fishing as well! My children love fishing off the dock and swimming in the cove. The sunrise and sunset is so beautiful. House is equipped very well. Everything you need to cook is there!

Best vacation in years!
Best vacation in years!
We were in awe from the moment we entered this place, as the view was so gorgeous and the home was so well-kept and well-appointed. We wanted for nothing from a cheese grater to a kayak. This was the first vacation in years where I truly didn't want to leave, and actually felt sad closing the door because it's such a peaceful place. It's true there is no cell service at the house, but you can get it 2.6 miles down the road if you need to check in; we found the freedom from having to be available to be a big part of our ability to relax. Also, note that while the description doesn't say there is a DVD player, there is both VHS and DVD along with a selection of movies, books, and games. Had I known, we wouldn't have brought those things ourselves. The other thing I REALLY liked was that there was plenty of seating. We had seven people many nights for dinner and we could all sit together around the dining room table, something we are rarely able to do at vacation rentals. Great place.

Wonderful place, well equiped and as described with one exception. The view from this place is a million dollar view. The cove is peacefull, the covered dock space is great for your boat, but the view is just incredible. I could have looked at it forever. Wonderful stay.

Enjoyed it, owner was easy to work with and answered questions quickly. Best part is the location - right on the water with a western view, on the quieter eastern shore. Great sunsets, one night's was amazing. Too bad there's no cell coverage or TV or internet - not a huge deal since we mostly were interested in disconnecting from technology and enjoying the outdoors.

The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Our family has spent many memorable weeks in our little Lake George cove. We enjoy it so much we rarely leave the area and just stay and completely relax. We find ourselves just floating in the cove, chatting, having lunch on the deck, and watching the sunset every night over dinner. Highlights for the kids include fishing from the dock, canoeing to Turtle Island for a picnic, and making as big a splash as possible when jumping in off the dock. We really find this spot to be completely satisfying and love to share the experience with others.
