Property description

Brighton Tourist Apartments are located at 28 Brighton Road in a lovely, old residential area of Charlottetown. The building was formerly part of the Revere Hotel in the mid 1800’s in Charlottetown. By 1889, it was divided and moved during the winter months over the ice covered harbour to its present location . Over the years, this heritage property has been: a family dwelling, a boarding house and as of 1990, an apartment building with 6 units. It is within easy walking distance to Victoria Park, a 60 acre green space on the waterfront, Fanning Bank, the formal residence and gardens of the Lieutenant Governor of the Province, the boardwalk on the Charlottetown Waterfront and a 10 minute walk to the shopping/commercial and historic centre of downtown Charlottetown.

The apartment is fully furnished and is on the first floor, with a living room and kitchen combined, full bath, and a bedroom with a queen size bed. The apartment has a working fireplace, an electric stove, refrigerator, microwave, TV& DVD player, radio, clock radio and an air conditioner. There are also laundry facilities available in the building as well as a large front entrance hall, a front veranda, and parking located at the back of the building. It is a quiet space and ideally located for the business or pleasure travellers.

Local telephone and wireless internet access are provided within the unit.

All linens, towels, dishes, cooking utensils are provided. Housekeeping is provided by weekly.

Brighton Tourist Apartment also contains two additional tourist rental units, a bachelor/studio units and a large one bedroom unit on the second floor. Information and availability on the additional units is available upon request.

About the owner: We both love the unique character of this building with its: post and beam construction, wide baseboards, door frames, high ceilings, stair cases and interesting history. Even the large Linden and Elm trees out front add a grandeur to the site.

Why the Owner Chose Charlottetown:
We decided to convert one of the apartments into a vacation rental in 1996 after staying in some furnished units in Quebec. The aspect of renting an apartment while on vacation appealed to both of us and we thought our building was well located and offered the travelling public an alternative to hotels and B&B's.
