Apartment is a new construction and has very nice furnishings and appliances. We flew into LaGuardia and it took only 15 minutes to arrive by cab. Neighborhood appeared to be safe but was not particularly attractive. Many interesting and good restaurants nearby. Overall a very nice stay and a much better experience and value than a hotel.

Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing.

Owner response: Thank you John. Williamsburg is a great area with lots of amazing restaurants and easy access to transportation and all points in nyc. It is an urban and artsy part of the city. There are more converted warehouses then brownstones. Over the past few decades many artists have moved in, offering lots of locally made goods of all kinds. The area also has lots of waterfront access with amazing views of Manhattan just across the East River. We are also just a short walk from the landmarked Domino Sugar Factory buildings. So, while not conventionally beautiful, the area is beautiful in an "urban village" sort of way. We hope to host you again!

We had a great stay at the carriage house. It is located in Williamsburg, one of the hip nabes in Brooklyn. Lots of restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance, including Pies and Thighs, two doors down, for great donuts. It is about a 10 minute walk to the L train, which puts you at Union Square in Manhattan in less than 5 minutes. The bed was super comfortable, and there is a washer/dryer in the basement, which is very convenient. We would definitely stay again!

My family and I had a lovely stay at the Carriage House. It is extremely spacious. Plenty of room to lounge around and plan our days, and the perfect base to come back to after big adventures out and about. The neighborhood is fantastic. So much to see and do and eat! Just a short walk and we could get to the L and JMZ subway lines and the East River Ferry! The house itself is quiet, very clean. We were lucky enough to get warm weather so we could take advantage of the back patio and bbq. All my questions were answered promptly by the owners. Highly recommend!

On a recent trip to Brooklyn I stayed in this beautiful carriage house. I cannot say enough what a special place this is. I've been to many rentals in the area and this is far and beyond the best place to stay. It's simply and beautifully furnished and at the same time, totally comfortable. The amenities are plentiful and perfect. The space is very clean and spacious. I felt like I was living in a country house in the middle of Williamsburg Brooklyn! One of the best parts of my stay is the doughnuts they leave for you from the famous eatery, Pies and Thighs. It's truly a special place. Oh, and the location CANNOT BE BEAT. You're basically in the middle of it all, living inside a gorgeous home. It's a dream come true. Honestly, this is THE place to stay. I intend to stay here every chance I get. While I don't want to the place to get so booked that I can't stay there, the owners are so great that I just have to rave about what a lovely experience I had and what a beautiful place it is to stay.

Where do you find exposed beams, warm brick details, views onto charming patios, afternoon sunlight streaming through the windows, and charming 1920's-era details, all centered around a homey kitchen... right in the center of the hottest neighborhood in NYC?!! At the Carriage House in Williamsburg. Everything we needed was provided: organic coffee and milk, delicious donuts, soft linens, and an immaculately clean space. Leslie and Susan were perfect hosts, responding instantly to all our questions by text or email. I only wish we'd come in Summer, so we could have enjoyed a cookout on the back patio. Our 6-year-old could not get over the treehouse with the swing in the second bedroom, and we have never slept in a more comfortable bed than the king-sized bed in the master bedroom. We could have spent our whole vacation within walking distance - checking out all the great restaurants, galleries, bars, bookstores, and vintage clothing stores. But it was less than 5 minutes by train to Union Square and the East Village. We will definitely return!

The apartment is clean, spacious and cozy (we love the heated floors), and in a great central location. It's close to the hustle and bustle of Williamsburg, but not so close that you can hear all the noise at all hours of the night. The guest house was a great home base for visiting our friends in the city and striking out North to Greenpoint and South to Prospect Heights. We LOVE LOVE LOVED Pies and Thighs, which is dangerously close, and the donuts at check in were a nice treat.

We stayed in the guesthouse for almost one week and we definitely enjoyed our stay there! The hosts are so nice. They tried to help us whenever we needed help. And the apartment was soooo spacious and really well equipped (dish detergent, washing powder, kitchen roll, toilet paper, soap etc). So we were able to glory our stay from the beginning (Shopping for things like toilet paper can be really annoying...). And the sheets were really comfortable... :) We definitely recommend this apartment!!

One word: AMAZING! The apartment was beautiful, new and modern, full kitchen with all the utensils you need, large open space. Leslie was a wonderful host, so helpful and friendly. We caught her on her way out and she still stopped to chat and give up tips on where to go. Overall was a great experience! Definitely will be coming back.

About the owner: I love to make things beautiful. I was a touring musician for a long time and learned to appreciate a clean, considered place to rest and revitalize. I am a mom to a young child and to an older dog. I love my family and am starting to write songs again after some years off raising my boy.

                              Why the Owner Chose Brooklyn:
We live in Williamsburg and we love it. We love to travel, and have found this a great way to be able to do that! In turn, we offer a wonderful place for fellow travelers to experience our city. We love meeting people from all over the world, and we love to make things beautiful and welcoming.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
We are so close to the city, and Williamsburg itself is such an amazing destination. We have some of the best restaurants NYC has to offer, in the midst of great galleries, music, cafes and a beautiful water-front park. The space itself is luxurious and welcoming. A perfect spot to rest after full days of sightseeing. While we are in the middle of a lively urban setting, our apartment is a quiet haven from the noise and energy of the city.
