At Bucko's Bungalow we cater to those who are looking for an inviting, cozy, clean, and convenient beach house. Our home features amazing Gulf views, a super short walk to the beach, and all the desired amenities. We also provide a wheelchair accessible elevator for those who find navigating the steep outside stairs of beach houses problematic (and it's really helpful when you're hauling luggage and groceries!).
Located in the "Pirate's Beach" subdivision, our property is an easy drive to historic downtown Galveston, the Strand, Moody Gardens, and all that the island has to offer. We also provide our guests with access to the Galveston Country Club which has a golf course, restaurant, and pool.
Our house is set up for comfort, not body count. We have purposefully arranged the bedrooms to afford people the ability to sleep. For example, the master bedroom is on the top floor and only has a king-sized bed. So, you have a separate and private suite with Gulf views from the bed and a private deck to top it off. Sweet!
Since we have our own small dog that we love to bring to the beach, we allow you the same privilege. However, there are a few rules and responsibilities that must be honored and they're outlined in the listing agreement. Additionally, there is a $100 fee per dog (max. 2).
Our weekly rental period runs from Sunday afternoon through Sunday morning. Please, only 25 or older and no smoking.

We had a wonderful time at this beach house. We spent a lot of time sitting on the deck, walking on the beach and cooking in the fabulous kitchen. Everything was clean and well-maintained and there were plenty of towels and the kitchen was well stocked. The elevator was perfect for getting our gear upstairs. The outside shower was great for rinsing off after the beach and we used the grill to cook fresh fish! The owner was very helpful and accomodating and we would love to return and stay at this house again. We would highly recommend this propery to our friends and relatives!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

The property was close to the beach and beautifully maintained. It included everything we needed for a comfortable and fun stay. The owner was helpful throughout the process, and very responsive. All in all, Bucko's Bungalow provided us with a fantastic opportunity for a quick family vacation, and we are likely to return.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, pet owners.

I just came back from a women's retreat and the women could not stop talking about how beautiful the house was and one of the women used a walker so the elevator was so helpful. The beach was right there and everything was so clean and pleasant. The owner was very accommodating . I would recommend this house to anyone who is looking for a very, very pleasant stay at the beach!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful stay at Buckos! The house was extremely clean,open and bright. The views were amazing from both inside and out on the decks! The decor was lovely and even better than pictured. We had a family of 9 ranging in ages from 3 to 90 and we never felt crowded and the layout suited us well. The kitchen was large and well stocked. The elevator was wonderful, especially for my elderly parents and sure made loading and unloading easier also. The beach was an easy walk and the neighborhood was quiet and clean. The owner was quick to respond. You will not be disappointed if you rent this house! I looked at multiple properties before choosing this one and definitely made the right choice! The location and view from the master bedroom were just what the doctor ordered for a long needed rest and escape from the city. I loved having an elevator to get our supplies, baggage and such up and down. The location was great for getting to and from Galveston proper allowing us to do some long over due visitation to some of Galveston's great older restrurants we rarely have time to visit . As we have learned in our many adventures in renting vacation homes you need to bring a few items along to make it 'our home away from home' such as a special pot or knife or seasonings. Otherwise everything we needed was there. We were especially happy to have a responsive home owner. We had issues with the internet which he promptly had corrected taking several hours of his time during the holidays. Although we could have done with out, it was comforting to know he was attentive and ready to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Thank you again for sharing your house with us and we look forward to another stay.Recommended for: People with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Great views and breezes off the water on the main deck and upstairs master bedroom deck. One block from water. Very clean and up to date. TV, cable, Internet all first rate. The elevator is terrific moving in and out luggage, groceries, etc. The owner was very quick to respond when we locked ourselves out! We would definitely return to Bucko's. The house was so clean and relaxing. Evenings on the deck were a delight listening to the waves. The spacious kitchen allowed the whole family to get involved. Sleeping accommodations were ultra comfortable and beautiful. The elevator was the perfect addition for my elderly parents. Stayed labor day weekend 2012. It was a great house for our family of 6 adults and 3 small children. Everyone had a bed and a room to accomodate for privacy. The kicthen is so large and there was plenty of room to spread out in the evenings in the living area or on the oversized deck. The elevator was convenient for making trips in and out to unload our stuff. And we really enjoyed the gated yard and outdoor shower! I highly reccomend the house and the excellent and very clean beach!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

Why the Owner Chose Pirates Beach:
It's simple, we love historic downtown Galveston and the beach. We decided that there's nothing finer than being "Islanders by Choice." Oh, and the access from Houston is so close and easy.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
When we purchased this property we decided to set it up as a cozy and comfortable second home with all the amenities that we enjoy. So, it's not a beach bunk house. We have a new big screen HDTV, digital programming, the faster wifi you can get from the cable company, etc.
Also, we wanted the elevator to ensure that our folks could visit and not be excluded due to the unmanageable exterior stairs.
