Windy Hill Villa is spectacular. From its wonderful setting in amongst Virgin Gorda gigantic boulders to its 360 degree ocean and island views, this is a very special home. A whimsical viewing terrace atop the boulders provides unique vistas of both the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean, including the Sir Francis Drake Channel. Beneath the rocks, enchanting caves can be found.
As you enter the property, you are led along natural stone paths which wind in and out of the boulders, through lush tropical gardens, past the spectacular free form pool artfully molded around the rocks to provide privacy and great views. The Entrance Doors to the main house open to a grand lounge with beautiful natural wood vaulted ceilings and a large covered terrace providing breath taking ocean views. To one side is a well equipped kitchen featuring custom cabinetry and lots of counter space with a breakfast bar. The dining area is really the most dramatic room in the house. It's a fantastic roofed space nestling amongst the boulders including a waterfall that really brings the outside in and provides a romantic and exotic atmosphere.
A short walk brings you to the fully air conditioned Master Suite, which features not one but two spacious bedrooms. The Ensuite bathrooms are equally generous in size and feature custom cabinetry, as do the walk-in closets which provide more than ample storage space. To the other side of the lounge area sits the Guest Suite. This features a spacious bedroom and bathroom and an additional room that can be used as an extra bedroom or perhaps an office. Outside is an entirely separate and perfectly private fully self contained Guest Cottage that features a full kitchen and lounge/dining area along with bedroom and bathroom

My husband and I visited Virgin Gorda and stayed at Windy Hill Villa with our baby girl in December for some much needed winter sun. It was just paradise! It felt like you had your own private piece of the tropical island all to yourself... wonderful! The views and the sunsets were to die for and we even got the opportunity to do a bit of island hopping! Definitely going back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Windy Hill is situated high up above the sea, which means it has great views, a wonderful sense of escape and best of all, constant breezes which keep it comfortable and pretty much free from mosquitos. When there's a group of you, the accommodation is well laid out and spacious, so you're not on top of each other - my guest house had its own kitchen and verandas, although we chose to eat together in the main house. The style is very original, as the local landscape of huge rocks and boulders is incorporated into the grounds and even the dining room and around the pool! I had no idea just how beautiful Virgin Gorda and its marine life was - it was hard to stay out of the water - clear turquoise, full of stunning fish and so close to the shore, making it perfect for snorkeling - there's lots of kit available at the house, which was great. I also love the fact that VG is so chilled back and relaxed; almost my idea of old-fashioned Caribbean - it's easy to have a beach nearly to yourself. The house is simply decorated and not too 'done up', which I liked, as it meant you could really just relax and treat it just like home. I'm pretty well-travelled, and this is probably one of the most relaxing places I've ever spent time in - would love to return.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
