Great location. Loved the kitchen - the only missing item, dish cloths. But we managed just fine. Easy access to public transportation, be it from train station, airport, or local attractions. Lovely neighborhood - maybe a little noisy late at night when staying in the front room, but nothing that would keep us from coming back. Thank you Chad.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We were really positive surprised when we stepped into the house. The house was very clean and the renovation was very tasteful and modern. Everything worked out perfect with a code to the backdoor and the key and instructions about the house and the neighbourhood on the kitchen island. It was a nice walk to the White house and The Mall and lots of retaurants only a short walk away. We could park our car in the alley for free. The owner responded very quickly to all our emails and calls prior our stay. Thank you Chad for your patience with swedish tourists. The deposit came back into our acaccount immidiately after our stay. Chad seems to be the perfect landlord. The location was perfect but we weren´t sure about the neighbourhood wheater it was safe or not. Remember we are from Sweden..but there was screaming on the street during night and some of the other houses were in very bad shape. Still THIS house was incredible nice and affordable!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing.

My sisters and Mom stayed at this home for 7 nights and it is a perfect location since the Metro is 1 block away. The house is update beautifully and very clean. The patio with the grill was very nice to have. Chad quickly responds to any questions you may have. The neighborhood felt very safe even for us North Dakotans and Montanan :) Thank you Chad for a wonderful place to rest and relax after a long day of sightseeing!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We had a terrific stay at this house. The owner was very helpful and friendly. The house is convenient, all household equipment is in there. Our 2 young kids loved had enough room to play and were able to enjoy themselves in the garden. The neigherhood is acceptable, if you don't walk into the 'wrong' street, it is considered to be safe. Overall, we would recommend this house for everyone, also kids will have a great time!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Our family of 4 rented this beautifully updated townhouse for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. The rental was immaculately clean with beautiful hardwood floors on the first level and carpet in the three bedrooms. The kitchen was outstanding. A chefs dream with stainless steel appliances and every thing needed to cook with. We cooked and grilled nightly. The charming outdoor patio has large table and decking area with nice gas grill. Nice dining room for four was off kitchen at the back entrance. There was parking for one vehicle. Do not park on street. You will be ticketed. There's a tree by parking area but we have a large car and parking in back was ok. YOU MUST LOCK YOUR VEHICLE. But that is anywhere in this city. The neighborhood appears scary at first but the neighbors on both sides were very, very nice. There is a washing/drying unit. It does not dry clothes all the way and takes up to 3 hrs to wash a load. Clothes were wrinkled but clean. There is a beautiful updated half a bath downstairs which is convenient. Nice size living room with TV and BLUERAY player. No DVD player X Box unit. Nice large TV. ONLY TV in unit but we read a lot so there was no problem. Nice school across street. METEO Shaw-Howard was literally around the corner which was great. LARGE master suit with on suite bath. All beautifully updated. Two closets in master. Large bay window with nice comfy chair in window. Comfortable KING size bed in master. Two other bedrooms with queen size beds in rooms. Rooms a little small but I'm only there for a vacation. Unit has nice white blinds. A/C worked great. Owner was really nice and easy to work with. Answers messages immediately. We would HIGHLY recommend this rental and we are already making plans for next year!!!! THANK YOU CHAD FOR A WONDERFUL STAY!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed in this clean, well-supplied row house for 4 nights; 6 students and a teacher. We were very pleased with the accommodations - the kitchen had new appliances, new washer/dryer, and really comfortable mattresses, pillows, and sheets. Chad has obviously spent some time making this space feel like home. We loved having the grill outside and the kids loved most of all how close it was to the Metro station, as we walked miles sight-seeing each day. The neighborhood was safe, and we had easy access to groceries and other necessities. Chad's manual was very helpful too! We would recommend this to any group of 3-7 people.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

3 generations spent a week honoring my mother's wish to visit Washington DC, Pro's: Very clean, high end appliances, updated row house. Parking space is a big plus and very close to shaw metro location. Cons: Neighborhood felt unsafe. One neighbor was loud into early hours and the other was hostile about us about putting garbage out front as we were instructed to do. Also, essential paper products were not in any bathroom when we arrived. For the money, I wished I would of stayed somewhere more rental friendly and safer.Did you find this review helpful? We stayed here recently with 6 adults. We had plenty of space for everyone and really loved the quick and easy access to the metro, which we used daily. The home was clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. Would stay here again if back in the DC area.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This is my first time to use VRBO. The experience is very pleasant. Chad, the owner, has been very helpful. He responds to email rather quickly with detailed information. I called him once during the stay for the hot water question. He was very kind and came to the property the next day to check it out. The property descrption and pictures are exactly as showned on the website. It is very close to the Metro stop which we used daily during our stay to go to the National Mall for visits. The property is clean and we were very pleased when we stepped inside. We did not spend much time around this neighborhood. However, when we returned at night around 9 o'clock, we felt safe walking on the streets. It is quiet at night so we sleep well. I definately will recommend this property to my friends if they consider a vacation rental at DC. I give 4 1/2 stars for this property (no half star available). I would give it 5 stars if the master bedroom mattress is firm and there is a hanging bar installed in one of the small bedroom closet. Overall, this is a great experience. If I ever visit DC again, I know who to call. :)Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Clean and modern. Very comfortable with easy access to the Metro. We enjoyed our stay and would rate 5 stars if not for a few quibbles. The dishwasher did not work. Chad tried to repair but needed a part that would arrive after we left. He did give us a credit which was nice. The smoke alarms went off every time we used the stove or the toaster. This was not from billowing black smoke but from frying eggs and toasting bagels. We ended up having to open the doors during every meal preparation. The bathrooms are tiny. The girls in our group all wished there were some shelves to keep some toiletries on. Otherwise we had a very pleasant stay and would stay again.Did you find this review helpful?
