This cottage was the perfect winter place to stay. The cottage was very cool. High ceilings, large well appointed bathroom. We love the Lake Leelanau area. Have stayed in this area for many years.. As frequent Lelanau visitors we really enjoyed the thought that went into the decor - the local pictures and photos. The location is perfect for us. Lots of good restaurants close by. The Narrows sits halfway between Suttons Bay and Leland and is only a short drive into Traverse City. The vineyards are fun too. We loved it. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful cottage in a beautiful part of northern Michigan.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Had a wonderful time exploring Lake Leelanau with my teenage son and his friend. Egan and Tim couldn't have been more gracious and accommodating. They truly want everyone to have a good experience and and the property shows that. It is perfect for teenagers in that each place has an outdoor fire-pit and plenty of property to spread out and do additional activities. The deck off the River Cottage is wonderful for morning coffee and evening reads and relaxation. Not only is the landscaping beautiful to look at but it is the perfect back-drop for creating privacy between the cottage and the road. Lastly, if you are a cyclist, you couldn't find better road and scenery to explore on. Appreciated the fact that it is central both to Sutton's Bay and Leland (a short 5 mile ride in either direction). Thank you Egan for extending the invitation to ride with you around the Lake. I have to say it was the high-light of my trip! Not to mention the yummy coffee just across the street. Love the place, people and area!! Until next time.......Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We throughly enjoyed our time at the River Cottage. The setting was ideal for our vacation. We loved that we were near a coffee shop, a winery, the grocery store, and of course, Lake Leelenau. It was fabulous. The cottage was very tastefuly decorated and in great shape. Just a short walk to the water and to the hot tubs nestled in the woods! Plus, there was a great deck to enjoy sunsets and beautiful evenings. My kids loved the chess set too! The hosts treated us like family, which was very refreshing. We would recommend this place highly!Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We planned a spur of the moment trip up north, and you can imagine how difficult it was to try and find a place available out of season. We were thrilled with the location and comforts of the River Cottage at the Narrows of Lake Leelanau. The weather was cool, (we had snow on Friday), but sunny most of the time, and the cottage was comfortably warm during our stay. We even enjoyed the sunshine on the deck in the afternoon! The River Cottage definitely goes on our list of great places to stay in Leelanau County. Our thanks to our hosts, Egan and Tim for taking care of us.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had an awesome experience staying at The Leelanau Boat Club this past week! We stayed at the River Cottage, and it was perfect! This cottage is brand new. It is a bright, very clean, comfortable cottage that has awesome windows allowing you views of the beautiful area that surrounds you. There is a great work space with wi-fi that allowed us to do some needed computer work. We loved the beds and bedding....so, so comfortable!! The bathroom is really nice too....large, with an awesome shower! There is a deck right off of the living area that is fun to hang out on and enjoy the views of everything around you! We loved the open area for bon fires and the privacy of the outdoor hot tub. Tim and Egan were so helpful in showing us everything the Leelanau Boat Club has to offer and offering us information about the Leelanua Peninsula, and surrounding area. There are a number of current publications in the cottage offering information of what and where to go in the Leelanau County and Traverse. The combination between our great accomodations in the River Cottage and how warm, friendly and helpful Tim and Egan are as proprietors, we can't wait to return to The Leelanau Boat Club! We hope to stay again at the River Cottage, but also hope to book all three of their cottages and houses for a family reunion! This is a must go to resort...private, quiet, and smack dab in the heart of Lake Leelanau!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The Lake Leelanau Boat Club is an absolute gem! I was just looking for affordable accommodations in the Lake Leelanau area to visit a friend for a weekend. However, this place is a vacation hideaway! Not only was it affordable, it felt like it was my own up north cottage with complete privacy. With acres of beautiful woods, a charming boardwalk leading to Lake Leelanau with boat access, what more could you want. I don't need to buy a cottage up north now that I know about this place. I'm definitely going back, but next time it will be a longer family vacation!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Brought in the New Year's at the Lake Leelanau Boat Club. It was our first stay. House was extremely clean, modern, with great views out the bedroom window. Outdoor hot tub was great! Centrally located in wine country - within short driving distance of multiple wineries. Owners were good to work with. -J&BRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My wife, granddaughter and I were visiting family in Leelanau and were thrilled with the accomodations. It put that extra special touch on our 3 day visit. Winters, up north, were not on our priority list, but this trip changed our minds. We look forward to staying there sometime during the summer months.
