We two Floridians were on our way to Boston when a Massachusetts snowstorm cancelled flights, leaving us in the D.C. area for almost a week with no plans. A quick check of VRBO turned up this charming cottage. Marianne had it ready for us soon after we inquired. What a lucky find! The house is comfortable, and quiet. Views of Harris Creek are mesmerizing. We've never had a vacation rental with such a great library. Nearby St. Michaels and Tilghman Island seafood restaurants were great, and we explored as far as beautiful Assateague Island. Our stay -- while unplanned -- was delightful. We already have recommended the house to friends.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The stay and the cottage was wonderful. The furnishings are beautiful and adds a unique charm. The dock was great...and we enjoyed catching LOTS of crabs and then steaming them YUMMY Would definitely NOT count on using any of the bikes...bring your own. The bike routes are great.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

What a perfect Zen spot this wonderful cottage turned out to be! We loved everything about it, from the relaxed, private wooded setting, the scent of pine, the eclectic design of the interior, the gorgeous antiques, the fabulous book and music collection that the owner so graciously let us use, the incredible water view, and truley amazing sunsets that we made sure that we planned into every evening while we sat on the dock. This was a perfect way for us to unwind from our busy lives, and by the time the week was over, we were actually ready to go back to the chaos, knowing we had achieved what we had set out to do. That was to enjoy the time away in a beautiful relaxing place! We will return to that very same spot since we now believe it was designed just for us! Thanks Marianne!
