We are excited to welcome you to our newly completed ground level studio located on our acre and half property here in Sebastopol. We are near, but you won't even know we are there:)
We call it 'Little Bird Cottage', because we have an abundant number of Finch and Chicadees everywhere .The brand new complete kitchen has everything you need to prepare your own meals for longer stays if you like, but Sebastopol has a wonderful variety restaurants for you to choose from.
A beautiful hand-crafted 'Potterybarn' like bed, covered with high-end quality linens, pillows, and throws await you after a long day of traveling, sight seeing or visiting friends and family.
Out front of the studio you will find a full porch for enjoying that evening glass of vino you bought while wine tasting, or want to sun yourself a bit?, then relax in the Adirondeck chairs under the vintage Granvenstein apple tree.
From June through Sept. there is berry season;raspberries or boysenberries might show up on the porch to add to your morning breakfast ,yogurt or ice cream, and there is a lemon tree just outside your door.

Thank you for all your hospitality and the nice touches like the great wine, yummy strawberry chocolate sauce, and lemons from your garden. Where they Meyer? Little Bird was the perfect size and place to relax and soak up the sounds and smells of the beautiful countryside. Our only complaint is that we wished we could have stayed another month or so! Your weather was awesome and all the sights were amazing (Armstrong Woods, Point Reyes, rolling green hills, etc., etc.). We really love where you call home. Of all the places we visit in the country, I don't think we ever had as good of time as we do in your neck of the woods, and Little Bird Cottage helped make our experience this time the best of our visits. You can be sure we'll be sharing our experiences with our friends and highly recommending your place. Thank you (and Ken) for sharing Little Bird!Did you find this review helpful? Ken and Kathy are wonderful hosts, and the way they've set up this great vacation space reflects their genuine hospitality. Not only is Little Bird Cottage beautifully decorated (just like the photos) but it's thoughtfully set up in just the way you'd want to welcome guests to your own home. We cooked a few meals there over a long weekend, and we found absolutely everything we needed, including a few Ziplog bags and Tupperware for storing leftovers, and even a few staples in the pantry. The linens are lovely, the fireplace is mesmerizing (all the more impressive because it's gas), and the space could not be cozier. The location is great, just outside of downtown Sebastopol but along a quiet private road. We wouldn't hesitate to return, or to recommend Little Bird Cottage to friends.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Thank you both for choosing our cottage to celebrate your birthday weekend, and we are so appreciative of how thoughtful your review is and how nice you left the cottage. Glad it provided a cozy place for you to watch the football playoffs as well. Next time stay longer please!

Little Bird In Big Country My wife and I are from the big city of Los Angeles. Our stay at Little Bird Cottage was the right choice for a couple of tired, haggard, overworked minions suffering from urbanitis. We wanted all the peace and tranquility of the California countryside, but didn't want to give up on any of our citified creature comforts. The cottage is a large studio size (approx. 15 X 20 ft.) space with a well-equipped kitchen, private bathroom and sitting area in addition to the comfy queen size bed w/ potbelly stove/heater. We were warm and cozy at night and awakened to abundant sunshine streaming through many windows with eye-catching views. We lacked for nothing and we were provided chocolates, wine, fruit, friendly smiles and hospitality from our hosts, Ken and Kathy. More than kind people, they sensed our need for privacy and serenity, but close enough in case we needed anything. They left us a basket of champagne and chocolate on New Year's Eve and decorated the front of the cottage with festive holiday lighting that added the perfect touch to our seasonal vacation. And the cable was great for college football access. The surrounding Sebastopol community was so scenic that we wanted to soak in as much as we could. We travelled everywhere by bike and discovered the little towns of Graton and Forestville. Kathy knew we biked, so she left us a bicycle guidebook which proved indispensable to our trekking. Graton has two great places to eat, Underwood and Wildwood Market, but the closest best place to eat is in Sebastopol at K & L Bistro. It's French, it's reasonably priced, and it's got a Michelin STAR! Sometimes we didn't want to miss football games, so we got take-out. Sequoia Burger makes the freshest burger, the fries are formidable, and Viva Mexicana is to beans as Sonoma is to grapes. After two days of biking our immediate area we were ready to branch out a bit. We took our bikes to other outlying towns. Everything around is close to Sebastopol. It's the hub of all the best places including Sonoma, Windsor, Glen Ellen, Healdsburg, Bodega Bay, Kenwood, and Santa Rosa. We loved all of them and look forward to returning in the spring.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are home preparing taxes, and filling out college papers, and we needed a pick me up today. Your review came just at the right time. Taking the time to write such a great review means so much to us, and it helps our future guests as well. The detail in your review was wonderful, and again thank you, please come back. Little Bird in Big Country is waiting!

I am going through major changes in my life and found myself at loose ends. I could not have chosen a better place to be than "Little Bird Cottage". The cottage was beautiful - all clean and white - very calming. The trickle of the fountain outside and, the little birds at the feeder added to the feeling of "home". Kathy was delightful - made me feel like family. I can't say enough about her attention to every detail and the obvious care she gives to the cottage. I felt so very welcome (and pampered) - just what I needed. Thanks again, Kathy, for everything.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Judy we are so glad the cottage provided you with a sense of peace and comfort. We hope Judy's Journey continues to be fruitful and full of new and exciting outcomes. Thank you again for your wonderful review.

My husband and I decided to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary in Sonoma County and began our search for a special place to stay. After narrowing our search, we contacted several properties regarding their location and amenities. I knew I found the perfect place after I read the description and details about Little Bird Cottage. Kathy greeted us when we arrived at the Little Bird Cottage and showed us around. A welcome tray included a great bottle of wine and brochures featuring local activities. She surprised us with two delicious gourmet cupcakes decorated with a grape motif. Kathy stopped by mid-week and dropped off the sweetest raspberries and tomatoes harvested from her own garden. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to your beautiful town of Sebastopol. We were close to one of our favorite wineries (Dutton-Goldfield) and well situated to visit the towns of Sonoma, Healdsburg and Calistoga. We also explored the beautiful coastlines of Pt. Reyes, Bodega Bay and Jenner north to Ft. Ross. We saw miles and miles of pristine and nearly isolated coastline. Highlights of our trip included a visit to Wild Flour Bakery (the scones are out of this world!), a tour of Bodega Artisan Cheese (an artisan cheesemaker featured on the Sonoma Marine Cheese Trail), wine tastings at Joseph Phelps Freestone Vineyards, St. Clement Vineyards and Sbragia Family Wine (each of these tasting rooms offered a personalized experience not soon to be forgotten), lunch at Spud Point Crab Company (order the crab sandwich and clam chowder to go and drive up to Bodega Head for a picnic with spectacular views!), dinner at the Himalayan Tandoori & Curry Restaurant (located 5 minutes from the cottage and perfect after a long day of traveling) and a shared appetizer at Barndiva in Healdsburg (where most of the ingredients for the food are grown or raised close by). Well thought out amenities were included with the cottage which helped to make our stay even more enjoyable. The compact but well-appointed kitchen allowed us to cook several times during our stay. We enjoyed a delicious Coffee and Pepper Crusted New York Strip Steak which was cooked perfectly on the newly purchased gas grill Kathy provided. The Adirondack chairs were positioned to enjoy the view of the night sky which was lit up with too many stars to count. Thanks, again, Kathy and Ken, for sharing Little Bird Cottage with us and for your incomparable hospitality. It was a wonderful week that went by too quickly.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Your extensive and complimentary review makes us fee all of our hard work is so worth it. You not only helped us with such great feedback, you help so many of our future guests with all the tid-bits and recommendations from your stay here in Sonoma County. Thank you so very much for taking the time and extra effort, we appreciate your time and thoughtfulness.

Little Bird was a perfect place to stay while up in Petaluma for a retreat at the nearby Strozzi Institute. The cottage has everything anyone could possibly need--spare toiletries, kitchen, cosy fireplace, and more. The light is lovely and the cottage is incredibly clean. It felt very homey right away. I'm gluten-free and Kathy even went to the trouble of making me some gluten-free brownies--she told me everyone gets a treat at Little Bird! I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it highly.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much Maggie for the nice review. It just seemed you got here and then you were gone. Way too quick, and next time, try and plan some fun and exploring time for yourself. We appreciate it very much when our guests are so pleased and share it with others. You even had some rain to deal with, but we hope the fireplace kept you warm and cozy. Please come again.

My boyfriend and I stayed here to celebrate our 4 year anniversary and we are so glad we chose to stay at the Little Bird! The location was very close to all the wineries where we had a great time going wine tasting then bringing back a bottle (or two!) to enjoy in this romantic little home away from home. Kathy really thought of every detail to make this the coziest cottage, it felt like it was designed especially for us! The bedding and towels are fluffy and soft, the little fireplace in the corner keeps you toasty warm at night, the kitchen is perfectly sized for making breakfast in the morning, and the cupcakes and wine and "happy anniversary" sign that were waiting for us when we arrived made us feel extra special! We will definitely be returning!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.
Owner response: We loved having you both stay at Little Bird. We are so glad you had a short, but memorable weekend together. We appreciate your review so much, and it is our pleasure to provide you with such a comfortable feeling about the cottage. Please come back; but for a bit longer for sure! Thank you again for the review.

My recent stay at The Little Bird Cottage was fabulous! As soon as I entered, I knew I had made a great choice in lodging. I was in town for a conference and only wish I would have had more time to enjoy the beautiful accommodations that Kathy provides. The unit offers all the amenities that one needs when traveling. I loved the homemade cookies, complimentary wine and tips on restaurants and local things to do while visiting the are, too. The unit is very private and yet, it was nice to know that Kathy was available, if I needed anything. I highly suggest this adorable cottage for anyone visiting the area. You won't be disappointed! Thanks again, Kathy for your kindness and hospitality. I hope to return someday.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

The studio cottage is small, but extremelely comfortable and clean. The owners did a great job creating a lovely, cozy cottage with many thoughtful details. Bed was comfortable! Towels and linens were high-quality and the wood floors were beautiful. The location was convenient to a lot of great wine tasting in the area as well. Kathy also prepared a recommended running route for me for my morning jogs which was extremely thoughtful. We also really appreciated how private it felt and loved sitting out under the apple trees in the evening. We will be back!Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your review. We strive to provide our guests with a good experience, hospitality, and a comfortable place for their get-away. We are thrilled you enjoyed the cottage, and it met your expectations. Please come again, and again thank you for taking the time to write such a nice review.

We cannot say enough good things about the LIttle Bird Cottage! It is a beautiful, new, clean, beautifully decorated cottage. It is located next to the owners home but it you feel very private as there is a privacy fence and a nice little water feature. We brought our two young boys and they had fun picking apples while my husband and I lounged in the shade, it was just such a quiet relaxing spot. When we arrived we were welcomed by Kathy with a bottle of wine and 4 of the most amazing cupcakes I have ever eaten. The cottage is stocked with EVERYTHING you could ever need (food to get you started, half and half for your coffee, ironing board/iron, fan etc etc). The cottage is so bright and decorated so well. This cottage worked so well for our little family of 4, there was an inflatable twin size mattress and my 4 year old crashed on the area rug with lots of extra blankets. They even had really nice black out blinds so that we could sleep in a bit. One night our toddler got a hold of the remote and pushed some buttons so that we couldn't figure out how to turn the TV back on, Ken came over at 8:30 at night and very patiently figured it out for us (all the while answering 100 toddler questions and put up with kisses on his leg from our 2 year old). Now while I have been raving about how perfect it was for our family situation I must say that this cottage would be a perfect romantic getaway! The location was perfect for us, you got the feeling of being in the country but were very close to Sebastapol and an easy drive to the coast too. We felt VERY welcome and will stay here next time we come to California. We even arrived home to a basket of freshly picked raspberries on our front porch compliments of Kathy, all the personal touches make this place so special. I can't say enough good!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Colorado Family. We really enjoyed having you stay, and are very appreciative of the great review. Your two adorable boys were so fun, and we are glad you had a moment to relax between all the wedding stuff. Please come back, and don't forget those adorable boys.
