Perfect Summer Cottage is a vintage cottage with a charming new kitchen remodeled in 2012 with vaulted ceiling and new appliances.

What to do in the evenings?
•Watch the sunsets at the beach
•See foreign films at the Vickers Theater or enjoy live theater performances at the Acorn Theater, both in nearby Three Oaks.
•Ice cream: Oinks for the world's best ice cream right in downtown New Buffalo
•Berries: Go blueberry picking in season.
•Tour the wineries--with a favorite being Tabor Hills with its marvelous restaurant and wine porch overlooking the vineyards.
Short Day Trips with kids
•Visit the children's hands-on museums in St. Joseph, Michigan and ride the carousel for a token. Spend the day wandering the shops and antique stores and visit the art fairs there, or spend the day on the St. Joe beach and in its wading water fountains.
•Take the kids to 'Mike's' to ride the bumper cars and play miniature golf. Go to the zoo in Michigan City or ride the electric trains at Hesston Steam Train outdoor museum (15 miles away in Hesson, Indiana and view a civil war enactment. (If you are there at the right time.)

Our family of five spent early August at this wonderful cottage. The owner has carefully and lovingly made this a family home and maintained it very well. Everything is comfortable and very clean. We have rented this lovely cottage for 5 years---in fact this summer we were there for a week in June and will be back for a week in August---2nd home. Our routine is the same-- a short walk to the store 2 blocks away to get the New York Times and the Tribune--then to the next store to buy some baked goods and produce. Lake Michigan is a short block away. The cottage itself is charming--the beds comfortable and the linens luxurious---1 bedroom on the entry level and 2 upstairs, makes for privacy when desired. The deck is a great place for breakfast and to read the paper---the bookshelves are well stocked with novels and games.....the living room has the most comfy couch and chairs. Within a 5-10 minute drive are a surprisingly sophisticated grocery store---Barneys---many good restaurants and shops for antiques, clothing,etc. Just writing this makes me yearn and look forward to August, when we will be in our "second home".Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We have vacationed at "The Perfect Cottage" for several years and we love it so much, we keep coming back. They have everything including a big back yard where we set up badminton and have cocktails out on the deck. The walk to the beach is only a few blocks away and we can spend hours on the clean sand or swimming in the sometimes wavy and sometimes calm waters. This home is perfect for kids, a girls weekend away or for a romantic couple who just want to get away. I would recommend it to anyone! The reservation process and the property manager cannot be any nicer. Thanks for the great memories!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
