My family and I first vacationed in North Carolina 20 years ago. In that first visit we quickly discovered the beauty and peacefulness that the smoky mountains offer. In 2007 we purchased our vacation cottage at Bear Lake Reserve hoping to spend as much time there as possible. Bear Lake and the surrounding towns of Cashiers, Highlands and Asheville offer so much to do that we still look forward to each visit. Spending time in the mountains gives us a break from the hot muggy summers that we have here in Florida.
