Driftaway is a beautiful, tastefully furnished vacation home located at the end of Eastern Shores, a prestigious community on a mile-long point of land which runs east from Marsh Harbour, into the beautiful Sea of Abaco.
Driftaway is secluded and surrounded by clear turquoise water with views of numerous islands and yet is very handy to the amenities of town (approximately 2 miles). The property runs sea-to-sea with the Sea of Abaco on the north side. Driftaway also has its own protected deep-water 50 foot dock on the south side facing Sugar Loaf Channel.
The house is nestled within a tropical garden of colourful hibiscus, wild orchids, bromeliads, palms trees and winding stone paths.
Driftaway has two spacious master bedrooms (one with king size bed, one with queen), each with their own ensuite bathroom. Both bedrooms have large size closets/ceiling fans and a view of the Sea of Abaco. The bedrooms are separated by the large open airy great room which is equipped with a flat screen HDTV, stereo, CD and DVD.
The high vaulted ceilings and the orientation of the house to the cool gentle ocean breeze creates natural flow-through cooling. Every room is equipped with ceiling fans, including the 44 foot screened-in front porch and the sun porch off of the dining room. Three sets of double French doors open to beautiful views on three sides.
The kitchen is fully furnished, along with ice-maker, coffee grinder, microwave, blender and toaster oven. The dining room area has available seating for six.
Sun yourself on the large south facing deck furnished with lounges, patio table/chairs and a gas BBQ. There is also a pergola at one end when shade is needed. Two large pass- through windows from the kitchen serve the deck.
Relax on the muskoka chairs on the covered 44' front deck while enjoying the view of the Sea of Abaco.
You have a private sandy waterfront sitting area directly on the north side of the property. You can swim or snorkle by simply walking down six steps into the warm turquoise waters of the Sea of Abaco. You also have the availability of snorkeling at several locations within very short distances by boat or by car. Fowl Cay just south of Man-O-War and Mermaid Reef are two of many reef areas for your enjoyment.
Marsh Harbour has many restaurants to choose from (2-3 miles approximately from Driftaway) that you can get to by rental car or by taxi. You can also rent a boat to visit the local islands for lunch or exploring. Hope Town, Guana and Man of War are a few of the many small islands that can be reached by your own rental boat or by ferry which is conveniently located two minutes away from the house by car or a ten-fifteen minute walk. Enjoy lunch at Nipper’s on Guana and enjoy their beautiful beach and excellent snorkelling.

To reserve Driftaway, confirmation will be received upon receipt of a 50% deposit, with the balance due 60 days before arrival date.
Reservations are by the week, or longer.
Our rental period begins at 3:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon and ends at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
Refunds & Cancellation policy:
If cancelled 60 days prior to arrival full refund minus a $100 administration fee.
If cancelled 30-60 days prior to arrival full refund for any days re-booked. 50% of any un-booked days + $100 administration fee will be retained.
If cancelled 1-29 days prior to arrival full refund for any days re-booked. 100% of any un-booked days + $100 administration fee will be retained.
Maximum of 4 guests. No children under age of 12 and no pets.

My husband and I stayed at this lovely cottage for one week. WOW was it PERFECT! Second house from the end of the point in a very lovely private area. You really don’t have any idea how close you are to the water until you are arrive. We could not believe the location! This sweet cottage has it all! We will most definitely be going back with our family and friends and perhaps even just the two of us! We felt so at home and loved the pastel colors, the layout and great use of space! It was a quiet area, just what we wanted, but the bars/restaurants were only a quick drive/boat away! There are grocery stores VERY close (5 minute drive!) I was very impressed with how clean the house was, the amenities and the location. I wasn't sure what would be in the kitchen, so I brought a few extras. However, once we arrived EVERYTHING we needed was there, waiting for us! This was a fantastic deal, a fantastic location and most importantly a FANTASTIC transaction with Bob and Linda, the owners of Driftaway. Nowadays, when renting or purchasing anything, one must be careful as there are a lot of scams out there... Bob was a pleasure to talk to on the phone, answered any of my concerns or questions, and emailed me promptly! I felt good about our transaction and knew we would have a fabulous time! If you are looking for an affordable LOVELY vacation, I recommend this adorable cottage! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! My family (four adults) found Driftaway to be a secluded, serine, beautiful sanctuary in paradise. The house was very clean (equipped with all the necessities), and the Sea of Abaco outside the front door was absolutely irresistible. The surroundings were so perfect, that we became reluctant to leave the house for our day trips. Mostly we were content to buy food from the nearby grocery store, cook at home, and eat on the ample front sun porch. To anyone contemplating a Bahamas vacation, I promise you that you will NOT be sorry you spent time Driftaway. Borrowing a line from Douglas MacArthur, "I shall return", or in our case "We shall return"!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

Thank you Bob and Linda for making our stay at Driftaway such a great experience! We felt welcomed as soon as we opened the door. It was like coming home. We have stayed at Driftaway before and you have maintained the same high standards. Everything needed to plan excursions, tourist sites, beaches, marinas, etc. was available in the binder. We seemed to gravitate towards preparing our own meals and used the barbecue on a daily basis. Everything was there that we needed, beach towels to beach chairs and the beautiful front sun porch where we ate many of our meals. You really only need your clothes and swimsuit as everything else is there. The location of this house is perfect, in a very quiet, very secluded area. The food store is very close by. The small private sandy beach is right outside the front door. What could be better than spending the day at the beach? Barbecuing supper and sleeping in the king-sized bed! Wow! As one of our friends said, "Another day in paradise". Bob and Linda are easy to get hold of if necessary and also called us to see how things were going and if there was anything we needed. Not all owners make themselves this available and show how they wish to make a stay in their home the best experience possible. We would highly recommend Driftaway as it is well maintained, clean and is exactly what the photos show. We will be back again to visit this little piece of paradise.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

Unfortunately the weather was a bit tough on us with thunderstorns and rain. But mostly in the afternoon so we started early. We will be back next year!! This house turned out to be the perfect choice for us! This was our first time in Abaco and what a great experience it was to arrive at this beautiful home. It is the perfect home to spend a quiet, relaxing and fun vacation. The property is well maintained, clean and comfortable. The owner called us during our stay just to ensure we were settled and that we were happy with the accommodation; that was also a gesture that was appreciated. The place was exactly like described but even better; it was very cosy, definitely the feeling of 'home' and provided us with all the essentials needed in perfect conditions. We all felt extremely comfortable, and settled in straight away. Located in a very quiet and peaceful area at the end of a point (only one more house past Driftaway) it was truly private. The house is well equipped with all you may need for your stay, such as a gas BBQ on the back deck, games, music, movies and two bikes. There is a grocery store nearby for your convenience of shopping. This house is perfect for a couple, families with children and friends. It is spacious and private enough for everyone to enjoy their own privacy and space. The location was great; situated sooooo close to the ocean (right outside the front door basically) that you can actually hear the waves. There is a lovely small private sandy beach area where you can sit and read or just plain relax and doing nothing. There are 4 to 6 steps down into the really warm water of the Sea of Abaco. The colour is truly amazing. We went snorkeling countless times. We saw so many star fish, parrot fish, beautiful spotted eagle rays….it was fantastic! We loved this place, and highly recommend it; we’ve told our friends about it and we would definitely come back again. Once again, a special thanks to the owners who were wonderful.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

"Great food and people! This funky restaurant and bar is a hangout for locals and boat owners who savor its welcoming spirit. If you want the house-special cocktail, a Bilge Burner, get ready for a head-spinning combination of apricot brandy, rum, coconut juice, and Kahlúa. Saturday night brings Jib's steak barbecue, when as many as 300 1-pound New York strip steaks are brought out. The only other night dinner is served is Wednesday, when grilled baby back ribs might be the featured dish. Other choices include a seafood platter, grilled chicken, and broiled lobster.
