What a FAB, FAB, FAB VACATION!!!

My husband and I stayed at this lovely cottage for one week. WOW was it PERFECT! Second house from the end of the point in a very lovely private area. You really don’t have any idea how close you are to the water until you are arrive. We could not believe the location! This sweet cottage has it all! We will most definitely be going back with our family and friends and perhaps even just the two of us! We felt so at home and loved the pastel colors, the layout and great use of space! It was a quiet area, just what we wanted, but the bars/restaurants were only a quick drive/boat away! There are grocery stores VERY close (5 minute drive!) I was very impressed with how clean the house was, the amenities and the location. I wasn't sure what would be in the kitchen, so I brought a few extras. However, once we arrived EVERYTHING we needed was there, waiting for us! This was a fantastic deal, a fantastic location and most importantly a FANTASTIC transaction with Bob and Linda, the owners of Driftaway. Nowadays, when renting or purchasing anything, one must be careful as there are a lot of scams out there... Bob was a pleasure to talk to on the phone, answered any of my concerns or questions, and emailed me promptly! I felt good about our transaction and knew we would have a fabulous time! If you are looking for an affordable LOVELY vacation, I recommend this adorable cottage! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! Our only regret is we didn't book it for an entire month! :) Leila and Jerry

We were a bit nervous about choosing a property on line even though there were great reviews. We decided to call the owners. Bob turned out to be very friendly and informative. He responded to my emails very quickly and was very professional. I would recommend any property owned by this owner to anyone. Bob totally put us at ease about doing with business with him and his wife Linda. The property itself was very lovely. There were no surprises at all. The home was very comfortable and was exactly as stated. We relaxed, spent so much time in the sea, swimming and snorkelling. We rented a boat, which turned out to be the right thing to do. Scooted about to several of the outlying Cays and basically just had a wonderful time. When we were not running about in the boat we spent time reading in the private little beach area and just totally enjoyed ourselves. The grocery stores were very good and very easy to get to. See you again next year Bob and Linda! Thanks again for sharing your wonderful home.

SECLUDED, SERENE, AND BEAUTIFUL

My family (four adults) found Driftaway to be a secluded, serine, beautiful sanctuary in paradise. The house was very clean (equipped with all the necessities), and the Sea of Abaco outside the front door was absolutely irresistible. The surroundings were so perfect, that we became reluctant to leave the house for our day trips. Mostly we were content to buy food from the nearby grocery store, cook at home, and eat on the ample front sun porch. To anyone contemplating a Bahamas vacation, I promise you that you will NOT be sorry you spent time Driftaway. Borrowing a line from Douglas MacArthur, "I shall return", or in our case "We shall return"!

Hot, Humid but what a great vacation home!

The home was so welcoming and comfortable. We arrived on August 11th for a week, no wind, hot and humid. The only negative of the home, was no air-conditioning. Being out in the sun all day, having a cool retreat to go to would have been great. Thank god for the fans in the home. I'm sure most of the time with the home situated with water on both sides, the breezes are wonderful. We had great weather for boating with no wind. The snorkling out of your front door was awesome. Sting Rays, Parrot Fish, a pod of Dolphins and the largest starfish I have ever seen. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home. We will be back!

Paradise Found!!

Thank you Bob and Linda for making our stay at Driftaway such a great experience! We felt welcomed as soon as we opened the door. It was like coming home. We have stayed at Driftaway before and you have maintained the same high standards. Everything needed to plan excursions, tourist sites, beaches, marinas, etc. was available in the binder. We seemed to gravitate towards preparing our own meals and used the barbecue on a daily basis. Everything was there that we needed, beach towels to beach chairs and the beautiful front sun porch where we ate many of our meals. You really only need your clothes and swimsuit as everything else is there. The location of this house is perfect, in a very quiet, very secluded area. The food store is very close by. The small private sandy beach is right outside the front door. What could be better than spending the day at the beach? Barbecuing supper and sleeping in the king-sized bed! Wow! As one of our friends said, "Another day in paradise". Bob and Linda are easy to get hold of if necessary and also called us to see how things were going and if there was anything we needed. Not all owners make themselves this available and show how they wish to make a stay in their home the best experience possible. We would highly recommend Driftaway as it is well maintained, clean and is exactly what the photos show. We will be back again to visit this little piece of paradise.

Great Times!

I stayed at this property for my sisters 40th birthday and we had a blast. We rented a boat (abaco dorado) and it was great having the boat docked in the back yard. It was also great having an ocean view out both sides of the house. We would definitely go back.

This home was so perfect for two couples. We had 4 people (all adults) in our party, and this house plan worked out great. It genuinely is one of those homes that the pictures do not capture the true setting. We loved having the two deck areas to have our morning coffee, one looking out over the Sea of Abaco and the other looking out to the Channel side and the dock, where we were lucky enough to see dolphins go by; so peaceful! The rooms were spacious and great for us all to relax after busy days of snorkeling and exploring. We fixed dinner a couple nights and we had such a nice time just staying in and making great use of the screened in porch. We stayed in a condo the last time we were in Marsh Harbour and we did not have all the extras that this home provided. We loved everything about our stay at this home. We would definitely book again in the future. It also is in a very nice location; very secluded. We found the home to be very clean and well maintained. Steps to the water with a lovely little beach area. I would highly recommend this home. We hope to return again next year! Thank-you! The Broslands

Spectacular View!! Relax! Relax! Relax!

My husband and I rented this house to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed the use of this house. It is tastefully decorated, spacious and has everything you need. No need to bring bath towels or beach towels. The queen bed is comfortable in the main master bedroom we used. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans that coupled with the refreshing breeze from the ocean makes for a restful night's sleep. The living room, with its cathedral ceiling, fans and comfortable furniture is a great place to hang out. Chances are you will spend most of your time though out on the deck, relaxing in your lounge chair, enjoying the view of the gardens, the Sea of Abaco and islands beyond. Swimming and snorkelling were high on our list too, of course. It was especially nice to be able to walk out the front door and literally step into the warm waters of the Sea of Abaco by walking 20 steps or so. There was a pretty little sandy beach area with chairs available for relaxing on the Sea of Abaco side which was really nice. Bob and Linda’s recommendations and knowledge of the island were great. By the time we left we were ready to buy land and move here. You will never forget your experience here. As a little extra there were also 2 bikes to use, so that was appreciated. From sunrise to sunset -- and beyond -- we just wanted to sit on the front porch, swim, snorkel directly out front of the house and just enjoy!!!! We will be back! Thanks Bob and Linda!!

Amazing View!!

This house turned out to be the perfect choice for us! This was our first time in Abaco and what a great experience it was to arrive at this beautiful home. It is the perfect home to spend a quiet, relaxing and fun vacation. The property is well maintained, clean and comfortable. The owner called us during our stay just to ensure we were settled and that we were happy with the accommodation; that was also a gesture that was appreciated. The place was exactly like described but even better; it was very cosy, definitely the feeling of 'home' and provided us with all the essentials needed in perfect conditions. We all felt extremely comfortable, and settled in straight away. Located in a very quiet and peaceful area at the end of a point (only one more house past Driftaway) it was truly private. The house is well equipped with all you may need for your stay, such as a gas BBQ on the back deck, games, music, movies and two bikes. There is a grocery store nearby for your convenience of shopping. This house is perfect for a couple, families with children and friends. It is spacious and private enough for everyone to enjoy their own privacy and space. The location was great; situated sooooo close to the ocean (right outside the front door basically) that you can actually hear the waves. There is a lovely small private sandy beach area where you can sit and read or just plain relax and doing nothing. There are 4 to 6 steps down into the really warm water of the Sea of Abaco. The colour is truly amazing. We went snorkeling countless times. We saw so many star fish, parrot fish, beautiful spotted eagle rays….it was fantastic! We loved this place, and highly recommend it; we’ve told our friends about it and we would definitely come back again. Once again, a special thanks to the owners who were wonderful.
