Marsh Harbour house description
Located on desirable Eastern Shore Penninsula, Water on both sides of the house, 80 foot dock on one side, tie up buoys on the other. Two houses in one: upstairs (separate entrance) has one bedroom, one bath, large kitchen, bar, living room, dining room and deck.
Downstairs(separate entrance) has two bedrooms, two baths, kitchen with bar and deck. Both have flat screen tvs and cable with internet. Rent up or down or both. For your comfort and privacy I only rent to one group at a time.
The water is generally smooth on at least one side of the house for swimming, floating on rafts, etc. There are reefs within snorkeling distance off the front, with lobster, grouper, and other marine life. Fish from the new dock, or just sit and enjoy a drink and the beautiful view!
The house has airconditioning in every room, or open up the windows and doors and enjoy the ocean breeze. And there is plenty of reading, resting and snorkeling, It is an easy walk to the ferry dock if you want to explore Hopetown. It is just a short walk to Boat harbour Marina where you can enjoy poolside dining or relax inside with air conditioning.
The Jib Room, Snappas, Curly tails and other restaurants are just a short drive- maybe two miles. You can walk it and burn off the calories!
If you want to explore, its is walking distance to rent bicycles or an auto or to one of the dive shops for a truly unigue diving experience.

Charming well appointed home with guaranteed breeze even during the dog days of August. Plenty of parking with the serenety of the Eastern Shore. A short walk to the take-out at the public dock with typical local dishes.

This is a nice, clean house in a moderate price range. The location is beautiful, in that it has water views on both sides. Within 15-20 minutes walk from town or a 5-10 minute walk to a taxi stand at the ferry dock. This older house is basic, not luxurious. Boats should note the tides carefully and watch for the rock. Owner, Don, was very helpful when contacted directly. Renting a boat for several days was absolutely the way to go; otherwise, the town doesn't offer much in the way of excitement. Loved seeing a dolphin swim by during our dinner at the house! It would have been challenging to rent this house with toddlers, as the upstairs decks have widely spaced posts. The upper floor has much better views.

Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, age 55+.
The four of us (two couples) just returned from a months stay at the "Wheelhouse" on the Eastern Shore of Abaco. We rented both the upstairs and downstairs which gave both couples their own kitchen, decks and privacy. Both upstairs and downstairs would be ideal to rent singularly but what a wonderful way for two couples or a larger group to "be together and be alone". The home is everything as advertised and contains all that's required for a perfect vacation. It is close to Marsh Harbour and the ferries to the Cays and located right on the water. The boys were there to bonefish and caught bonefish to six pounds right in front. Could not have been a better trip, better location or better home.

A Personal Paradise
A Personal Paradise
My husband and I spent our honeymoon at the wonderful Wheelhouse and couldn’t have been happier. The Wheelhouse really felt like our own personal paradise. Turquoise waters awaited us just outside our door and could be viewed from every window in the house. Warm nights on the upper or lower deck listening to the ocean and snorkeling from our own private location were absolutely fantastic , not to mention the ocean-view sunsets! This lovely beach home was spacious, cozy, very clean, comfortable and accommodating, and offered seclusion while still being a fairly close walk to restaurants and other attractions. Everything we could have wanted or needed was right at our fingertips. We highly recommend the Wheelhouse for anyone desiring a peaceful, comfortable, tropical vacation!
