Historic Watch Goose Farm is now available as your private waterfront vacation destination. This family property (owned since 1942) can be enjoyed as a secluded and romantic getaway, or as a location for the active outdoor family vacation. Enjoy spectacular sunset views over a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay. Spring and summer mornings bring the watermen to the cove as they set their lines for Maryland blue crabs; in the Fall migratory waterfowl make the cove their home through the winter. Private pool and dock are perfect additions to your memorable vacation or special weekend.
Your stay will be enhanced by this comfortable home with original 1730’s colonial architectural details. Enjoy your meals on the sun porch or al fresco poolside. The Great Room is perfect for watching movies, family games or spending a quiet afternoon with a good book. Enjoy a variety of restaurants and fine dining in “downtown” St. Michaels, and explore the Chesapeake’s cultural heritage at the nationally recognized Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.
Bikes, kayaks, crabbing equipment, a library full of books and games are available for use during your stay.

This is a lovely property and we so enjoyed the sunsets each evening. Since the property is large and the house is rambling, there was plenty of privacy for our group of 3 cycling couples. We also found the home to be well-stocked with soap and paper products. The location is a couple of miles outside of the town of st michaels and easily reached by bicycle or car. We also enjoyed the round trip bike ride to oxford (approx 19 miles) which included a 10 minute ferry ride from bellevue to oxford. a special highlight was lunch at the robert morris inn with a much appreciated roaring fireplace after the cold weather bike ride. i would recommend this rental to friends and family. we plan to return again ourselves.Recommended for: Pet owners, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

This home is 100% as advertised! The kids had a blast playing in the pool, running around the yard, and playing hide and seek in the house. All of us loved crabbing and could not believe how easy it was! We went into St. Michael's only for brunch and dinner - it was a quick 5-6 minute drive. The owners are warm and helpful. This was the perfect getaway for two families looking to unwind and enjoy time together. I hope to return next year!Recommended for: Families with teenagers.

We recently returned from a week at this home. My husband and I went with our 10 month old daughter, our parents and a friend came for a few days as well. Pros: Gorgeous grounds right on the Bay, clean and well kept, wonderful pool, nice new dock. Kayaks and canoes provided for use. Kitchen/bathrooms equipped with all basics including soaps, linens, paper products and kitchen essentials (coffee, sugar/sugar substitutes, salt/pepper). Plenty of common space for socializing, many games provided. Dog friendly - our Lab might have had more fun than we did! 10 min drive to town with many shops/restaurants/activities. Bedrooms as follows: 2 rooms with 2 twin beds, one room with queen bed, one room with double bed. Cons: 2 of the 4 bedrooms have no doors for privacy/noise control. 3 of the 4 bedrooms have very steep, very narrow, curved staircases to get to them. I'm short and I hit my head going up the steps to our bedroom at least 3 times. Carrying an infant up/down any of these staircases not super safe. Trees planted around the pool are poisonous (oleander) to both dogs and humans. I would not recommend this property for families with babies/ very young children or people with physical disabilities/difficulty getting around. Would be fine for a group of adults or for older children.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with teenagers.

This house was perfect for our family vacation which included toddlers, teenagers and grandparents. The outdoor pool was enjoyed by the adults and kids, it was very clean and pool toys were provided. We were able to explore the bay with the canoes and kayaks, life jackets were also available. The house is within biking distance to the town of St. Michaels which has a variety of shops and restaurants. We hope to stay there again next year.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Sarah, Thank you for the outstanding review of Watch Goose Farm. You and your family were very understanding of a wayward beagle! And the house was left in excellent condition. We look forward to hosting another family vacation for you all. Thanks again and best regards to your family. Nancy Watch Goose Farm

Our family had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home that fronts Barret Cove near St Michaels Maryland. The house has wonderful old farmhouse features with an historical feel while including a beautifully added spacious great room for relaxing and enjoying the view. The enclosed porch off of the kitchen was a great relaxing place to gather for drinks and snacks while meals were being prepared. We enjoyed the pool and used the kayaks for paddling about the cove. The surrounding countryside is quite serene for walking or bicycling and star gazing is exceptional. I highly recommend this as a great vacation spot with easy access to everything that St Michaels, Tilghman Island, Oxford, Kent Island, and Annapolis has to offer. We even took a day trip to Assateague Island about 2 hours away enjoying a great beach visit. All of the family was able to enjoy our visit in Maryland as a result of this wonderful place.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
