Thanks for everything! The house was great, beds comfortable, and everything was there. We didn’t fish the Wilson river due to no fish. So, plans changed to the Trask. We caught quite a few Cutthroat trout and one Salmon hook-up. We’ll catch up with you again! (This fishing note was early June/2013)

Great cozy, quiet, peaceful place. Cute house, inside and out. If you are a "horse" person this place would be an awesome place to stay at. LOVE the Horse Artwork throughout the house. Close to the beach and shopping.

Owner response: I am glad you enjoyed the house and had some quiet time. Hopefully I can add some of your art to the home as well.

The house certainly met expectations. It was clean, warm, thoroughly furnished and perfectly functional. It was always a welcome finish to our days exploring the rivers of the North Coast. The only down side was the Rte 6 truck traffic noise, to which I am not accustomed. If the fishing - make that the catching- had been better, I would already be making a reservation for next season. But alas, we hit an off year for steelhead, and so I'll be back to the trip planning drawing board between now and then to consider alternative logistic strategies.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: It has been a shocking fishing season for sure, I think a record low! Hopefully next year will be the opposite and would enjoy having you as a guest again. I still have not figured out the truck traffic, sometimes it is bad and other times it’s not a problem. Weekdays tend to be worse, as well as the off season. Summer and weekends there is less traffic and I find the hwy to be quiet at night. Hope you will make it back to the coast next year.

Hi Sally, We had a fantastic time! Will definitely contact you again if in the area and pass it along. It was wonderful. Charming house and location. Everything was great. Wasn't sure if the electric fence was on is the only thing. Well appropriated, comfy beds and cozy, comfy house. So glad we found it. Wish we had horses to bring! :) Thanks again and have a wonderful year!

My sister and I had a great time at Galloping Getaway. Sally, the owner, could not have been more helpful and kind. She was very prompt and informative thru emails whenever I had a question. The pictures of the home were accurate. The home was clean and well maintained. There was a slight odor, but we boiled some cinnamon water and the whole home smelled great! The location was excellent. Just a few minutes from town. The local area information provided on the website was very helpful and we used a lot of the information. High tea at La Tea Da was superb! Coffee at Stimulus in Pacific City was the best! And of course, the Tillamook Cheese Factory and its gift shop should not be passed up. Be sure to use the "cheese mail" when youre there!! We had one meal at Alice's Restaurant and enjoyed it immensely. My sister said it was an excellent Oyster Burger. The Lemon Cream Pie was so yummy! And the waitress was very friendly, as was everyone we came in contact with in Tillamook. The Tillamook Pioneer Museum was pretty darn impressive, too. We were so appreciative to have a full kitchen to cook our meals, enjoying leisurely breakfasts and oh so delicious seafood dinners. There were enough utensils and dishes to cook and serve with. Just made for a much better than average mini vacation. I slept in the upstairs room because of the softer bed and did not mind climbing the stairs. On the main floor was one bedroom with a king size bed and another bedroom with 2 twin beds. There was a washer and dryer that came in handy, too. All in all I would stay here again and I would recommend this place to friends and relatives. Thank you, Sally, for helping me to have some wonderful memories!

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner response: I am glad you and your sister had a good trip. I would be glad to host you another time as well. As far as the smell; my husband and I were just there and we didn't notice an odor. I wonder if it is just the difference in the humidity? There is, of course, a huge difference from Phoenix to the Oregon coast when it comes to moisture. We have a dehumidifier running in the basement all the time and work hard to keep the home fresh. I will have to try the tea shop, sounds fun.

We came with horses and loved the beach; best galloping is at low tide. Cape meares dike road was a great ride, and less than 15 minutes from house. Very nice home, with cute decorations, much larger and nicer than appeared in the pictures. Beds and bedding were comfortable. Area was very quiet at night. Super quick to get to town and many beach, trail, hiking, options. Owner was very professional and always helpful and quick to respond.

Listing was accurate with lots of little unexpected extras in the kitchen. It was quiet and the beds were good. The back porch is nice to sit on and drink coffee in the moring and watch the Stellar's jays. Although the pictures are good they can't compare to the real place. It's very cute with roomy bedrooms. It was clean and had a well kept yard. I wished we had horses, as it looks perfect for bringing some for a beach ride. We didn't have any problems and we got all of our deposit back in a timely manner. We will stay here again and bring the rest of the family. Alice's is great for breakfast one morning when you don't feel like cooking. Also go to the boat ramp up the highway and float the Wilson River down towards the house. Lots of fun.

Owner response: Most guest come and fish the river, nice to know you guys have fun floating it as well. Hope to have you and your family back soon.

The trip was great, very relaxing. You have a very nice place. We should have booked a longer stay. The only thing needed was a night lamp for the upstairs bedroom. Other than that it was a top notch vacation. The weather was great. We had so much fun. Did the air museum tour, Cheese factory tour. Can't wait to do it again.

This house is the perfect spot for those who want to fish, ride, hike, or beachcomb! Just 15 short minutes from Netarts Bay and not much further to the State Park where you will find miles of beautiful, pristine, sandy beaches. (Walk south on the beach to find a lovely waterfall). If fishing is your passion, the boat launch and fishing areas are a simple 5 minute walk from the house. The house itself is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Living area is classy and comfortable, perfect to curl up with a cup of tea and a book. Linens and bedding are high quality--you'll forget you're not in a hotel! If you are looking for a nice getaway, this is it!

Owner response: I am glad you had a great trip. I don't think you could ever run out of things to do in the area. It is a perfect place to play and get away.

Even with four adults and five kids it didn't feel like a crowd in this neat house. Easy space to move around in. Comfortable rooms, and even in sun and rain, the temperature in the house stayed even. Short scenic drive into Tillamook, and a half hour from all the great tourist towns on the coast. We easily cruised up to Rockaway Beach one day, but the beaches near Tillamook were equally as nice. Great nearby restaraunts, even though cooking in was easy too.

This was just a beautiful place! We enjoyed the close proximity to the beach and town. The river is gorgeous and just out the door. Definitely coming back and I would recommend to anyone I know, aside of people I don't like as this place rocks!

I thought your horse decorations were cute, and I enjoyed looking at the pictures. It was also very clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The directions were very clear, and every time we went into Tillamook we looked for mile marker 7 since the house is right past that.

What a perfect, comfortable home for a relaxing getaway. Truly just minutes from the beach, riding trails, fishing, hiking, or just relaxing with a good book. There were so many options, we literally ran out of time to do them all! This home was the perfect place to come back to in the evening. There are so few places to go where you can take your horses and still have all the amenities!
