Surrounded by large tracts of land, this three-story, completely renovated house (with plaster and tiled walls) sits on the side of a hill in the village of Colares. It is decorated in an elegant, simple style and has all the comforts of a modern house.
The "Sala" living room, with a fireplace and a Steinway piano, is separate from but attached to the house by a cobbled patio. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a study/library, and a comfortable sitting room with a fireplace and TV are on the third and second floors. On the ground floor is a fully-equipped kitchen, which is located next to the formal dining room which also has a fireplace. There is a bathroom and a laundry room conveniently located next to the kitchen.
The garden has a swimming pool, a terrace with a grape arbor, a patio with a stone table comfortably sitting eight, and a sweeping view of the Sintra hills.
The location of the house is perfect for making day trips to nearby castles, churches, and museums. A pharmacy, post office, bank, gas station, butcher, baker, produce market, and restaurants are at the bottom of the village. Beaches are within10 to 20 minutes away. The town of Sintra with its Moorish castle, restaurants, cafes, boutiques, and two former royal palaces is 15 minutes away by car. Lisbon is 45 minutes by car or by train in Sintra.
Rentals are for a one-week minimum, with special rates for 4 or more weeks, please check calendar for availability.
Ideal for two couples and two children; please inquire about larger groups.
