About the owner: We are a semi-retired couple that has enjoyed the good life on Shingobee Bay for nearly 20 years. We owned and managed a smaller rental property next door for the last 12 years and have enjoyed getting to know return vacationers each year. This past fall we moved that little rental cabin to another lot and built a new home next door to this rental property. You'll enjoy complete privacy at your vacation rental home knowing we're available should help be needed.
Why the Owner Chose Walker:
Before our time on Leech we had a small cabin on a smaller lake and moved here to enjoy the benefits of being on a relatively small bay with all the opportunities that come with big lake access. We love a sunset cruise into Walker, taking the boat into town for a run to the Dairy Queen, or going out to dinner via boat at one of the many great restaurants on the lake. We can boat to some of the best fishing spots in all of MN and our Shingobee Bay is often quite calm compared to the big lake.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love every season on Christmas Point. Shingobee Bay, greater Leech Lake, the nearby town of Walker, and the Chippewa National Forest are all at our doorstep (not to mention some of the most spectactular sunsets). Shingobee Bay is a particularly great part of Leech Lake because of its long and relatively narrow shape - it's a rare day when it's too windy to play on the water and boat traffic is generally quite low. There is great fishing in the bay and kids can always catch fish right off the dock. It has been a wonderful home for our family and now for us to enjoy with our grandchildren.
