The Coronado Cays, a waterfront, secure community, five miles south of Coronado on the slender Silver Strand, with the beautiful Silver Strand Beach on the west side and the San Diego Bay on the east side. You’ll find the exclusive bicycle and jogging/walking path, the Navel Air Station and a Bird Sanctuary.
The village of Coronado is home to approximately 16,000 people, across the distinctive curved span Coronado Bay Bridge. It is surrounded by water-the Pacific Ocean, Glorietta and San Diego Bays. Families of any configuration will find it to be a gracious hostess. Arresting views of downtown San Diego and beyond can be had from the Ferry Marketplace, a bayside complex comprised of shops and restaurants.
The Hotel Del Coronado, at the south end of the city, is a National Historic Landmark dating back to 1888. Many of the world’s icons have visited there. Be sure to buy your tickets for performances at the Lambs' Playhouse, a renowned repertory theatre company. To complete the experience, guests are encouraged to visit the Museum of History and Art, with its four galleries solely dedicated to the rich history of Coronado.
Only five miles to Mexico or ten miles to Downtown San Diego by ferry, trolley, bus, or your vehicle. On weekends the village is filled with people from across the United States and throughout the world.
