Nature & Waterfront Paradise

When one comes into our house, their attention is immediately captured by the view. From almost every room in the house, you see a panoramic vista of the Scarborough River and 2,000 acre Scarborough Marsh Nature Preserve beyond. Off in the distance, on clear nights, you can see Mt. Washington in New Hampshire 60 miles away. During a typical day, you'll seen dozens of Snowy Egrets, Herons of all types, a Bald Eagle, several seals and often a surprising migratory bird that is stopping at the marsh for a brief respite.
2 of the 3 bedrooms face the water and the third looks across a 25 acre field toward Saco Bay and Prouts Neck. One of our favorite trips is to get into our kayaks and go with the outgoing tide to Ferry Beach near the Neck, spend the day at the beach and return when the tide changes. At sunset, it's fun to get into the canoe that we make available to guests, anchor out in front of the house and fish for stripers that swim by. It's a nature and waterfront paradise.
Our house underwent a total renovation a year ago. All the bathrooms are new as is the kitchen and all its appliances. There's a new home theater system with speakers in both the den and living room area. All of the furniture in the house is either new or refinished. There also is an elegant art collection throughout the house. We provide a canoe, paddles and lifejackets but you'll need to bring your own bicycles, fishing equipment and, if desired, kayaks. Two parts of the house are locked and not accessible to tenants - the master bedroom suite, which is in a separate wing of the house and the boat shed which houses our kayaks and bikes. But there is plenty of house for you to enjoy.
While it's a great house for water activities, it's also has all kinds of places to take a nap or read a book in privacy. There's a beautiful deck overlooking the water, a private furnished patio with a gas grill and hammock and a screened porch. You can have friends watching TV while you quietly read or snooze in another part of the house. The deck on the water side has an outdoor shower that provides privacy and a water view at the same time.
The kitchen has all new appliances, large refrigerator, gas range, convection oven, microwave, wine refrigerator and dishwasher. All the cabinetry and counters are new. There is a gas grill on the interior patio. You'll find a full complement of dishes, silverware, wine glasses and all types of dinnerware and silverware.
We're very particular about our tenants because we've put so much attention (and frankly money) into the house throughout the renovation and construction period. We use the house year-round and have set it up so that it has all the amenities of a house we might live in full-time. If you're interested in renting the house, we want you to enjoy all its amenities and everything there is to do in the area. We also hope that you'll treat it as if it's your own house and care for everything accordingly.
Sorry, no pets of any kind permitted.
