The Views at Wallingford is a Luxurious Penthouse with the very best views Seattle has to offer. The house was built in 1900 and has had the same owner since 1989. The house was owned By Dr. Scardapane and his wife who have recently relocated. This property is centrally located and close to everything. The master bathroom is your own personal spa which includes a 2 head Walk-In Tiled Shower, a Deep Jacuzzi Soaking Tub and a Dry Sauna. The house sits up on a hill and has a huge yard and a beautiful wood porch to sit on. Three of the bedrooms are up stairs and there is 1 extra-large bedroom downstairs. The sunset and sunrise are too beautiful to describe. The ceilings are extra high creating a spacious environment. There are large view windows in every room to ensure you do not miss a second of the scenery. The neighborhood is quiet and safe for walking, biking etc. The house has a security alarm and a door bell phone located in the kitchen to buzz in family members or guest. The penthouse is the entire top floor of the house, with a private entrance. There is a deck located off of the sitting room which is ideal for sipping your morning coffee, reading the newspaper or a good book.

Positive aspects: the view was spectacular, the location was great, the eurpoean style bathroom w/sauna was luxurious, and the rental agent Rebecca was very pleasant to work with. NEGATIVES: As the last reviewer noted (which I only wish had been available before we rented) this property is advertised as 4 bedrooms but those rooms DO NOT HAVE DOORS. Three of the rooms have "curtains" that seem to be held up by pressure shower curtains. The only bedroom that does have a door requires walking through one of the other bedrooms, and as the other reviewer noted, one of the bed frames in that room was broken. As other guests would walk in and out to access their bedroom or bathroom through our bedroom, the curtains would repeatedly fall. The curtain versus doors set up also allowed noise to travel from the kitchen and living room making it very difficult for a large group that might not all wake up or go to bed at the same time. I would not recommend this property in its curent configuration.Recommended for: Sightseeing.

This house had amazing views and the perfect location for our group. If you are bringing a larger group you should be forewarned that the bedrooms aren't the most private--I think that was a big surprise for us. The furnishings and set up (linens, etc.) reminded me of staying in a family cabin (quality of sheets, specifically--one bed frame was broken, and I think the fix was temporary). In saying that, don't rent this place for thread counts and high end appliances--rent it for the amount of people it can accomodate, its view, and convenient location. the bus is easy to use and picks up (and drops off) steps from the house. Rebecca was responsive, yet distant as a host (which our group prefers); street parking was easy, though there was access to a garage that we never took advantage of (I think we made an educated guess as to where it and the trash cans were). I would suggest putting together a manual to remind people of where things are that stays in the house--I think we tinkered and explored around things.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with teenagers.

I brought a small group of adults to this house for a short weekend, and it was wonderful. The views of Elliot Bay and the city were incredible; the pictures don't do the house justice! Everyone had a great time and was raving about the property by the end of their stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+.

About the owner: We recently purchased the house from it's long time owner. We instantly knew we wanted to share this special place with other families. We value our city and all of it's special attractions. We have stocked the home well with everything you could possibly need. The property manager is just a phone call away and lives near by should you need her.
Why the Owner Chose Wallingford:
We chose to buy this property for the view and the old world charm. We know a gem when we see it. It is so close to everything and is centrally located in Urban Wallingford near the University District, Fremont and Downtown Seattle.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The home was built in 1900 and has all the features of the era, high ceilings, spiral staircase, huge bay windows. It really does have so much charm. When you are at this house I think of drinking sweet tea on the porch and visiting with family, laughing, making jokes, telling stories and planning new ones. I love this house and I am certain our guest will as well.
