Our villa is located in the Greens building which is closest to the beach. It's absolutely a great location if you like to spend time on the beach enjoying the ocean waves and listening to the surf. You can walk for miles on the beach or just sit and enjoy.
We purchased the unit in December 2008 and have done some upgrades since then. We've had the unit painted, purchased a new sofa bed, new linens, tiled the kitchen and dinette floor, installed a new HVAC unit, bought new TV's, new patio furniture, installed a new microwave, etc. We want to be comfortable in our villa and want our guest to be equally as comfortable. For that reason, we prefer only non-smoking guests and no pets.
The tennis center is directly across the street and the 6th green of the Galleon golf course is outside our back patio. As you walk to the beach, you will also pass the Crown Plaza Hotel. There is a very nice pool close to our villa for your enjoyment as well.
Shipyard does not have high rise buildings and is a very nicely maintained community. For those of you who want to see wildlife, Shipyard does not disappoint with wildlife around the ponds, including alligators, turtles, and birds.

Our stay at this two-story villa was fabulous. Two important factors for us with accommodations is having a place that is clean and a location that we like. Both were exceeded in this stay. We arrived to find a villa that is kept spotless. There were two of us for most of the time but we did have a teenage grandson come for five days. The beds are comfortable and despite the fact that it had occupants on both sides, it was extremely quiet. It is a short walk to the beach and sidewalks abound for walking, running and riding a bike around the Shipyard. Also, one of us is a golfer and the villa is on the edge of the golf course. The owner was great. We booked only a little more than a week before after he responded promptly to our vacancy inquiry. Then, during the week he telephoned to see how things were going. The property manager was excellent and quickly responded to take care of replacing a ceiling light in the breakfast nook. There was a hose that leaked in the dishwasher that caused some flooding to a carpet, but there was a quick response to get the rug dried out and the dishwasher hose replaced. Neither was due to a lack of attention to the property, but rather to the normal things that occur when in use. There are parking spaces directly in front of the villa, making it very convenient. The only personal preference we would have is for a firmer sofa in the living room. It is okay, but is beginning to sink a little too much, but there are three other seats in the living room which are very comfortable. We both hated to leave and regret that we weren't there longer. We highly recommend this villa. We love visiting Hilton Head Island and the stay in this villa was one of our best experiences.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
