Your home away from home!! Spring is almost here and you will enjoy this charming, cozy and quaint, brand new, handicap accessible, country cottage is located just minutes south of the Asheville Regional Airport in the shadow of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. It is centrally located, easliy accessible and the 'Perfect' Get-Away. A short 15 minute drive will take you to any of the Historic cities of Asheville, Hendersonville or Brevard.
The Cottage Inn is situated on a 20 acre farm with access to the river (Spring-Summer) for fishing, tubing or just relaxing as you picnic/cook out along its banks. Relax in rocking chairs on the porches while you enjoy the views of the mountains with your cup of tea or coffee and the delicious, large special recipe Cottage Inn homemade cookieswith a seasonal fruit basket provided just for you. (from local farmers!!) Children can enjoy playing outside in the wide open spaces surrounding the Cottage or in the fenced in back yard. One guest said even the cows across the way were friendly!! WiFi is available so you can even get some work done while relaxing outside. Inside the Cottage, you have everything you will need to make it your home away from home. A fully stocked, brand new kitchen is ready for you, just bring your groceries (Food Lion is around the corner, and a brand new Ingles opens soon). We've thought of everything, we hope. Starter supplies of coffee, tea, sugar, spices, dish soap, etc. are provided for you.
If you choose to eat out, restaraunts are only minutes away, as well as banking locations, grocery stores, library and park..
The Cottage Inn has 2 bedrooms, 1 full bath and one half bath. The master bedroom has a Queen bed, dresser with mirror, side tables, sitting chair, TV, luggage stand, and 2 bathrobes to use during your stay. Linens are provided. The 2nd bedroom sleeps 3 children or 2 adults in a Twin/Full Bunk Bed combo. A small TV is also located in this room. All linens are provided. The full bath is equipped with handrails and the doorway is wheelchair accessible. All towels and a hair dryer are provided for your comfort. This Cottage contains a laundry room with washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, vacuum, broom and mop. You will need your own laundry supplies. The living room has a Queen Sofa Sleeper, TV, DVD, some movies, games, and books. Dining room seats 6 and the breakfast bar seats 3.

Our family is relocating to NC. My husband, daughter and myself needed a place to live for a few months until we found a new place to call home. The owners were wonderful and very accommodating hosts. The Cottage is a lovely place with lots of natural light (clean and well maintained). We enjoyed the location and peaceful surroundings (green pastures/fields, beautiful trees and flowers). Staying at The Cottage Inn made our transition to NC enjoyable. We would recommend The Cottage Inn to anyone looking to get away.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This country cottage is indeed charming. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, nice fluffy towels and VERY clean. A basket or apples and fresh baked cookies was also on the counter when we entered which was a very nice touch. We would stay there again if ever in the area; so much nicer than a hotel and actually less expensive than some of the nearby hotels. Enjoyed sipping my coffee on the front porch in the morning and watching the cows in the field across the street. Owner answered all my questions via phone calls and emails. We were in town for a wedding and the reception was only a mile and a half away, so this location was very convenient for us.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

This is truly a home-away-from-home!! From the minute you walk in your stay here is wonderful. The owners are awesome to work with. There was one very minor issue with the microwave and Floyd came right over and fixed it. We originally rented from Saturday to Thursday and then decided to stay two extra nights until Saturday - Corey was great in dealing with our change of plans. The cottage was absolutely gorgeous and had everything you needed. It was a very nice touch with the apple and cookie basket - thank you!! Perhaps the only item that would have been nice to have would be a barbeque grill. Very centrally located to all the towns we needed. First let me say that my wife is very picky and my biggest concern when using VRBO is always whether or not the property will be clean enough for her. My wife walked into the home and no less than 4 times in the first 3 minutes exclaimed, "It is so clean." The beds were comfortable. TV's in every room. Friendly neighbors. My wife also mentioned several times that they had everything we needed there. She did eventual notice two things that were missing- extra toilet paper and laundry detergent (though in fairness it does say in their book that you need to provide your own laundry supplies). As frequent visitors to the areas of Brevard and Asheville we have been looking for an alternative to hotels. We found it at the Cottage in Mills River. The listing description might want to use the PERFECT destination "description" as a reference as there is nothing but excellent comments to be made. The Inn Keepers are another positive as they took and take great care to make for the perfect stay; the cows across the street are equally friendly. Coming from city living the Cottage also provides the much needed room to stretch out and not be bumping into others. Highly recommended and we will be back in the fall for another visit. WOW!! We had a wonderful stay at this lovely country cottage. I wish we could stay all summer. The cottage had everything we needed and more. The beds and furniture were very comfortable. It was very clean and well maintained, I am really hard to please when it comes to cleaning and I was very pleasantly surprised at how impeccably clean it was. The peaceful atmosphere was absolutely exhilarating. We had coffee out on the porch every morning, it was a great way to start our day. It was located just perfectly to get to all the various towns and attractions around. We saw white squirrels and my husband really enjoyed his golfing. We are already booking our next stay there. I will recommend this Country Cottage to all our friends, family and everyone who asks.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This cottage was wonderful. It is beautifully decorated and very cheery. The beds were comfortable with very warm sheets and blankets. Owners were extremely nice and left a delicious welcome basket with cookies and fruit. Cory left my husband a balloon and birthday cupcake for when we arrived. Cottage is equiped with everything you'll need, Just bring your clothes and your good to go. Thank you very much for a great stay. We were there for my husbands sisters wedding at Deerfields Resort up the road, and his parents live in Hendersonville, the cottage was an awesome and convienant place to stay near both.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: The Cottage Inn is located on our family farm and we have been here in the Mills River Valley for many years.
Why the Owner Chose Mills River:
Perfect getaway to the country but so close to everything. Asheville, Hendersonsonville and Brevard are all only 15 minutes away. Sit on either the front or back porch with a fenced in yard for playing and grilling, and watch deer running and jumping, cattle grazing across the way and a relaxed environment, yet with all the comforts and amenities of home.
