Tenants Harbor house description
'Seacliff' is a serene and secluded year-round house on bold oceanfront overlooking islands, lobster boats, windjammers and twinkling lighthouses. The property includes a main house with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths plus a guest house with 1 bedroom, separate living room with sofa bed and full bath. Well-appointed : furnished in sunny coastal style, with antiques and well-stocked gourmet kitchen. Away from it all, yet close to Camden, Rockport, Rockland, Tenants Harbor and Port Clyde. Ten minutes from the Monhegan ferry. Countless antique shops and art galleries nearby (this is Wyeth country!), as well as concerts at the Rockport Opera House. Outdoor activities include whale watching and puffin cruises, sailing, fishing (salt and fresh-water), kayaking, birding, hiking - all within minutes. The spectacular setting of this house, granite fireplace and gourmet kitchen make this house a delight year-round.
Seacliff is located on 2.5 acres of lovely, wooded shoreline in mid-coast Maine. The property is reached by driving one mile on a dirt road, near the conservation site of the 'Roaring Spout', a geologic formation through which waves crash, spray and roar at high tide. The house faces southeast and every room has an ocean view through which you can watch lobster boats, sea birds, seals and the occasional eagle. Built in 1994, the house is quiet, comfortable, and loaded with amenities suitable for use year round. The private guest house, located in a wooded site uphill from the house, allows for pleasant extended family gatherings. Come and enjoy this lovely home.

A Beautiful Idyll
A Beautiful Idyll
My family rented this wondrous property for two weeks each July for six years, only stopping because we bought our own place. When you enter the home, the view will take your breath away -- a beautiful panorama of ocean and sky. The home is extremely comfortable, decorated with soothing colors and lovely furnishings. The extra large kitchen is well appointed; we like to cook together and found that we each could have a "station" while admiring the staggering view. There is plenty of "public space" allowing family members and friends to read quietly or do a puzzle or play a game. Each year, we all made an art project while sitting out on the deck. We spent many memorable evenings sipping wine and dining under the long reach of a full moon out on the sunroom deck. The house is equipped with lovely linens and plenty of comforters, should the weather require. We also rented the cottage on the property which is a gem and just as comfortable as the main house. The house is clean and well-maintained, obviously cherished by the owners. The owners are extremely nice and were eager to answer our questions and address our requests. Of all the properties that we rented in this area, this was by far our absolute favorite. It was extremely difficult to leave each year at the conclusion of our two weeks.

Sea Cliff is just perfect!
Sea Cliff is just perfect!
We have stayed in many wonderful rentals, great hotels, and charming inns, but Sea Cliff rates at the top with us! Two couples stayed 3 wks in June and we loved the views, the beautifully decorated, obviously well cared for and completely stocked home. We loved the views and the location, which is wonderful even on rainy days. The owners are especially easy to work with, there were no annoying add on fees, and everything was just perfect!!

Seacliff in May
Seacliff in May
Four retired (or nearly retired) university friends made a long road trip from Illinois to Maine May 2011 for a quiet week of reading, eating lobster and crab rolls and just generally relaxing. As soon as we arrived at Seacliff we knew it was a perfect choice! A wonderfully comfortable and well-appointed house in a very peaceful spot with incredible views. Mostly misty or foggy weather during our week didn't really dampen our pleasure. Morning coffee and bird watching on the deck or cool evenings sitting around a fire in the great stone fireplace and listening to music left good memories. Sounds of the tides against the rocky cliff and lighthouses twinkling at night, a great seafood market and excellent restaurants nearby and more time to stay were all we needed or desired! Did take a couple short sightseeing drives in the area but were always happy to get back to Seacliff. We even experimented (successfully!) with preparing fresh fiddlehead ferns and making our own clam chowder in the fabulous kitchen! We've traveled together previously and rented vacation properties in several locations. All agree that Seacliff is a real favorite. The house was clean and well stocked. The owners were friendly and easy to relate to. Would we go back? You bet! As soon as possible!

From the moment we walk onto the property we knew we were in for a fantastic week at the Seacliff. EVERY room had an incredible ocean view. The whole house had an open airy feel with a fantastic sunroom and large kitchen. We love to cook and found ourselves a little limited with their pots and pans. But we certainly took advantage of the lobster pot! It's the perfect place to go in the winter. If the weather is inclement you can stay indoors but still feel that you are part of nature by looking out the windows. Perfect ocean spot...secluded and peaceful!! Thank you Seacliff.
