Our family recently stayed in this historic home. Our stay could not have been any more comfortable or enjoyable. Lena and Doug's home is a wonderful piece of history which has been tastefully renovated and has all of the high-end modern amenities you could hope for. We were a party of 5. The home is very spacious and is spread over 4 stories including the basement. We all had privacy and enjoyed the sense of space after a long day of sightseeing. Lena and Doug far exceeded any expectation we had on this, our 4th experience renting a home while on holiday, They went out of their way providing us with detailed information regarding the house, handy garage, restaurants, grocery stores, and neighbourhood and making us feel welcome. The linens, bedsheets, towels etc were fresh and very high quality. This historic home is located a short subway ride to Central Park, the major museums and various shopping districts. We had a superb one week stay, rendered all the more enjoyable because of the comfortable accomodations. We highly recommend this home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

About the owner: We love having all this space right in Manhattan where we work and raise our four children. The neighborhood is lovely, friendly and safe, and very close to everything, by subway, car or foot.
Why the Owner Chose Washington Heights:
This is our primary residence, but we spend summers travelling.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
The location is excellent on a tree-lined gently curved section of Riverside Drive. The number 1 subway line runs every 4 minutes and brings you to Times Square in 20 minutes. Midtown and lower Manhattan 15 minutes away by cab (use West side high way). Riverside drive with unobstructed views of the Hudson River a short (5 min) pleasant walk away.
The house was built in the 1920s as a spec house and is unique, charming and spacious.
