3brm and 2.5 Baths. Best River Front in Stowe Village
Year Purchased: 2003
Why the Owner Chose Stowe
The location is incredible and you have a feeling of being with mother nature with the river behind you and the land across the river owned by a preservation trust. The three levels are ideal for privacy and quiet. Plus it has a garage for the winter. We have owned several vacation homes and this one is the only one we have kept.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome
Quiet. River. Swimming hole in river. The decks. Fishing for brook trout. Layout of townhouse. Short walks to town. Not having to drive.
5 mile paved path for bikes and hiking. Also, the quiet path for hiking on grass by the river
Owner's Map of Stowe
We are a couple with 4 grown children and grandchildren. We are retired and love the Stowe area. After buying the condo (we couldn't use it because it was rented for 6 months), we came to Stowe for a vacation with our daughter and grandchildren.
After being here for two weeks, we decided to move here permanently from Santa Barbara, CA. We bought a large home and kept the townhouse as a rental. Our children will not let us sell it. We have moved back to Calif to be with the family after 6 wonderful years in Stowe. We come once or twice a year to the condo for our Vermont "fix."

Our vacation in Stowe was great and what helped to make it so great was this townhome. The property was spacious, very well maintained and the location was ideal! We were able to walk to shops, restaurants and I can't say enough about the wonderful view of the river! This property was perfect for our family getaway and I would highly recommend it to anyone staying in Stowe.
Owner response:Thank you. We love our unit and do upgrades every summer when we visit and try hard to keep it in excellent condition. I want to thank Walter, Jill, the Huffmans, Trevis, my brother and sister, and Stowe Country Homes for keeping such close watch on the condition of the unit.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, families with teenagers.

We can't recommend this place highly enough. Stayed 3 nights during a tour of New England in October and wished we had booked to stay longer here. The house is in a great location in the town, but set back from the road right on the river bank. There is parking right outside the door. It is a flat 2 minute walk into the town with shops and restaurants and it is well located for all the sights within driving distance of Stowe. The house itself is spacious set over 3 floors with a great open plan kitchen/living area that opens out on to the large balcony with a lovely view over the river. This really was a lovely living space and fantastic for family or a group of friends. It was meticulously clean, nicely decorated and has everything you need. The master bedroom and bathroom with jacuzzi bath was great! There were 4 of us staying so the other bedroom we used was downstairs with a balcony looking out to the river. The owner, was quick to respond and helpful when I made an enquiries about availability and booking. The booking was made no problem using paypal to transfer funds. There was also no problem with the transfer back of the security deposit after our stay. The owner also contacted us whilst we were in the property to check all was ok and was very helpful with recommendations for fall driving routes etc. I would certainly stay here again and recommend it to friends. Stowe itself is a lovely town with plenty to do nearby both on foot from the house and within driving distance. There is beautiful scenery all around and was a fantastic base from which to view the fall colours.

This townhouse was a great summer rental. The pictures and description on VRBA are very accurate. Nice, well furnished, clean, with lots of linens. But the best part is the location - walk to the village for good restaurants, etc. The little river provides a peaceful backdrop off the deck and is perfect for wading. The owner was great about promptly resolving an air conditioning problem. Definitely would recommend this property for summer or winter stays. The 3 floors provide good separation for the group. The 5 mile bike path near the Mountain Road is a must for walking/biking and stopping for a fun swim in the river. Neat things in the area include great hiking trails, a trampoline/bungee jump and an alpine slide for kids, weekly farmers market, balloon festival, and symphony concerts. Stowe Country Club is one of several excellent places in the area to play golf.
Owner response:Thank you, we really appreciate the quality of the guest that we have been able to have stay at our place. We have local people in trades that help us if there is a mechanical problem. We bought and had a new a/c unit installed that day we heard the older one was making noise .

Wow!! Vermont was better than we expected. Loved the Village and the hikes in the mountains. We really enjoyed the condo and your neighbors are nice. The three levels worked well for our family and it was so quiet.

With four kids we really enjoyed your place. Great to allow the older ones to walk to the Village and Ski Museum. It's a beautiful setting and condo. Note: Your rental agent replaced the coffee maker for us - the other one stopped working.

We wish we could stay another 3 weeks. The quiet time was what we needed in our lives. The kitchen had everything we needed and we bought for you a potato peeler and a new notepad. Our family had fun visiting and the wedding of our niece is Stowe was magical. Hope we can come next year.

Weather was cool and nice - some rain. We walked everywhere and tried all the restaurants. The Stowe Coffee Shop has good sandwiches. The deck is like your own little world. Didn't catch a fish - what's the trick?

We've had a wonderful two weeks here. Convenient to everthing, yet quiet and peaceful. River, Ct c-2 is a very comfortable condo. Should let you know that the washer water temp. knob is stripped
