We have been with you for a few years, both here and Jax Beach. We have enjoyed you and your places. It is very nice when you deal with honest people and people that are so ready to please. We are getting older but we are trying very hard to stay on our bikes without falling. We hope to be able to see you again. Thanks!

We had our best vacation ever here! Our extended family lives nearby and after 15 years of visits, this is the best! Thanks for your hospitality and the well stocked house. We lift replacements and are definitely going to be repeat visitors! Thanks again!

Breathtaking sunrises every day, beautiful sunsets, unbelievable weather and family memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you for sharing your little Paradise with us. We had an incredible week on the beach, playing volleyball, fishing, walking and my son R*** running many miles on the beach and thru St. Augustine. Thanx again and God bless you.

28 years our family has been vacationing on the beaches of south Ponte Vedra and Vilano. This is our 7th year/summer that we've been in this house. Thank you, Mrs. Bates, for allowing the opoortunity to make great memories for opening up your home to us. We had another week filled with sunises, space station flyover, moon rise, volleyball, fishing, buitar playing, singing and playing family games that had all of us rolling w/laughter wee into night/morning most nights!! We feel sooooo blessed to be able to be here, so thank you again, Mr. and Mrs. Bates. May God bless you always.

We travel often and use the intenet to find new and interesting places to stay. I seldom post reviews but felt compelled when I read the previous review. We've been staying at this condo off and on for 10 years so I was very suprised to see negative comments. We stayed earlier this Summer and just booked another week. We have never been unsatisfied or felt unwelcomed by the locals. The owner has always been more than accomodating and the condo always perfect on arrival.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

Disappointing Vacation

This property was not clean. The living room furniture was not adequate for comfort and access to the house from both the front and back doors consisted of dozens of stairs making entry to the house, both from the road as well as the beach, somewhat difficult for seniors. The owner was not as helpful as we were used to, having rented a few other houses in St. Augustine in the past. Although we enjoyed the company of other tourists staying in the area we found a few of the locals hostile to visitors. In terms of great places to eat I would suggest people try the Sunset Grill and especially Harry's for the best food around. I could definitely not recommend this house to a friend or relative.

Owner response:22 years of renting this house and have never had a dissatisfied renter. Reserved for four people and two dogs, brought five people and three dogs, and were expecting others to visit. After they were there for a week, they called me and told me the place was dirty, which it may have been after a week with five people and three dogs, but I didn't think it was my responsbility to clean after them. Insisted that I buy a new sleeper sofa to accommodate their tall nephew who was visiting for a week and wasn't comfortable on the sofas I provided (clearly shown in the pictures on the website). The twin bed in the third bedroom was somehow unacceptable to him. Although our house is on a nice, quiet beach, these renters felt nobody should be on the beach except them. Nobody has had trouble with the neighbors before or after. The pictures on the website clearly show the steps in front and back, the LR furniture, and other accommodations. I have renters who return year after year, and I like to have satisfied renters, but I don't believe you could satisfy these people and that's probably why they don't return to the places they have rented before. Despite everything, I am very sorry to have an unhappy renter, because I take pride in my accommodations and my long list of happy renters. I AM POSTING SOME COMMENTS FROM OUR GUEST BOOK.
