St. Remy de Provence villa description
Renting : Saint-Rémy-de-Provence,Provence, France, Europe ,the most beautiful and renowned village in Provence.
Accommodations: Villa,2 Suites, 2 Bedrooms + 1 Additional Sleeping space, 3 Baths (Sleeps 10)
The villa has been designed in the style of a traditional Provencal Mas, with a lovely view of the Alpilles hills, 300 m to the old center of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. A few minutes walk away from the village. This recently built and tastefully decorated villa accommodates up to 10 people and the whole house is air-conditioned.
The villa is set in a nice garden, which is surrounded by old olive groves, hedges, many flowers and plants. All bedrooms are upstairs. They have been decorated in booth a Provencal and design style. One of them has a television screen.
The living room is comfortably furnished and has a fireplace, a large,satellite television screen, DVD and hi-fi. The main kitchen is well equipped with a large fridge/freezer, oven and hob, microwave and dishwasher and opens onto both a dining room and a terrace where there is a table and chairs. There is also laundry room with a washing machine. There is a second small kitchen with a similar equipment which opens onto the swimmingpool. A barbecue is in the garden.
There is a lovely swimmingpool which has a security alarm and long chairs and garden furniture. Outside lights softly illuminate the whole property in the evening.
The layout is as follows :
The house distributes a large living room (55 m²), two dining areas (20m² and 25 m²) and two outside dinings area opened to the garden. And near the large living room, there is an independent toilet with a guestwash basin.
The living room has two sets of windows opening onto the garden and looking onto the Alpilles. There is a fireplace, two large sofas, two armchairs,two tables and chairs as well as a TV, and a hi-fi system with CD/DVD player.
The dining areas are furnished: the first with an oval dining table seating 10. And the second with a round table seating 10.
The open kitchens are separated from the dining room by a counter, it arefully equipped: an oven, four electric induction hotplates, a microwave,a coffee maker, a toaster, a fridge and a dishwasher. Windows look onto the garden. Next to the first kitchen is a laundry room with a washingmachine.
There is also a sleeping space is furnished with 2 single beds and a built in closet in the dining room opened onto the swimming pool.
On the upper floor are two suites and two bedrooms, south exposed with windows opening onto the garden and the Alpilles:
The first suite has a double size bed (180) with bed side tables and armchairs. There is an en-suite bathroom with a double washbasin. The second suite has a double size bed(160) with bed side tables and a sofa as well as armchairs + a dressing room and a shower room. There is an independent toilet.
The first bedroom has a double size bed (140) with bed side tables and chairs.
The second is similar. They share a bathroom with a double washbasin, ashower. There is an independent toilet.
A garden living room with a large table and 10 chairs, as well as long garden chairs.
The landscaped garden is planted with trees (olive, palm…) and lawn.
The large swimming pool (10mx5m) is surrounded by lawn.
You access the property through a private lane. There are enough parking spaces for several cars.
St Remy has its own air of quiet chic, elegant shops and many restaurants, little squares with ancient fountains, shady cafes terraces.
Within their surroundings, the Alpilles chain of mountains forms both astriking and a harmonious picture. It is also the landscape of famous painter Van Gogh.
It is also a rich agricultural and wine area with rolling plains of fruit orchards, olives groves and all variety of Mediterranean vegetables. The village is also at the heart of Côteaux d'Aix vine yards and not far from Château Neuf du Pape.
It is alive with the sound of chirping 'cigales' and the intoxicating aromas of multitude of wildherbs... This area is the ‘Provence of the Rhone' and has a strong Roman heritage. The famous ruins of Glanum -an archeological site from the firstcentury BC- are at 2 minutes-walk from the house.
From there it is only a short drive through the hills to Les Baux de Provence,an ancient village perched high on the rocks, once one of the most celebrated and brilliant of the troubadour courts of love in the Middle Ages, now romantically ghostly.
The closest highway is the A7 (exit Avignon Sud/Noves) 15 minutes driveaway, which goes from Lyon to Marseille with connections for all major cities of the south east of France.
The closest train station is at Avignon (a 20’ drive) and is served by the TGV that goes to Paris in 2 hours and 40 minutes!
The closest airport is Marseille-Marignane with most international connections(a 1 hour drive to the house).
