THE PRIVATE PLUNGE POOL:
House features an elevated fiberglass pool. We have the only Private, heated Pools on the Gulf beaches of Dauphin Island. Houses Book Quickly. Pools Are Pre-Set @ 90 Degrees oct thru mid May. (PLEASE NOTE THAT CONDITIONS MAY CAUSE POOL & SPA TO BE HOTTER OR COLDER THAN SETTINGS) We cannot guarantee performance & function of the pool and/or spa, & no discounts will be given due to any issues.
POOL SIZE IS 8'X15'(4 feet deep).(holds 10-12 People)
HOUSE FEATURES: "Strand Castle".
WIFI ! Game Room/bunk room on 2nd floor with pool table and fooseball, LCD TV and Satellite,Queen sleeper sofa, bunk beds,leading out to Gulf-view balcony & up to the private roof-top deck w/lounge chairs (deck railing is solid 36" high for totally private sunning) and panoramic views of the Island.
Main level is open and spacious with kitchen, dining and powder rm. Queen sleeper sofa. Main level master bedroom with pillow top and en-suite full bath.
Upper level has the aformentioned game/bunk room plus two additional bedrooms. One has queen pillow top and twin bed, other has queen pillow top and duo-bunk (twin over full). There is a jack-n-jill bath and a separate small full bath. Also a walk in laundry room.
ISLAND INFORMATION:
Dauphin Island is very laid back & non-commercialized, but has shops, a grocery store, bakery,& several restaurants ranging from pizza, ice cream and burgers, to great seafood and steaks. ISLAND IS EASILY ACCESSIBLE BY BRIDGE. Gulf Shores/Fort Morgan is only a few miles away & is accessible by auto ferry (makes a great day trip).
For attractions, visit the Sea Lab, historic Fort Gaines, play a round of golf at the Isle Dauphine gulf-front course, view birds and wildlife & explore secluded beaches at the Audubon Sanctuary, fish on the beach or at the long gulf-front fishing pier, charter a boat for sightseeing or deep-sea fishing, swim, bike, walk, collect shells, or JUST PLAIN RELAX!

we will not be renting again from Island Time Rentals, The owner of the property, or the company is not responsible for anything advertised. The house inside is in need of updating and painting and a good cleaning... towels and sheets were not fit for a one star motel. Wifi worked only late at nite. Front door imposible. Pool leaked and did not work. Upstairs refrigerator did not work. We were shown old pictures of a home when it was new!!! very disappointed!!! All we could do was cry, we were very over charged, the neighbors were very shocked we were sucked into this home, severly outdated and resembled a party spring break house. Many other complaints compared to the other rentals we have been in over the years....we now know we could have vacationed next door in a new home for 3 weeks for the same price, with no outdated furnishing,

We stayed at strand castle week of aug 6 ,2011 . Location and view were fabulous. Minor issues included not enough towels and broken coffee maker, both issues taken care of as soon as we called. Sofa sleepers very uncomfortable, not good for adults, which makes it hard to find a place for all 15 in our party. Thankfully we brought a cot and air mattress. House was clean but needed some TLC - repair drawers in refrigerator,needs clean rugs in kitchen-they are really dirty,mold around air vents need to be addressed, door on front of house almost impossible to close. I know it's hard to maintain rentals. I was generally happy,management very responsive. I would just like to see the house maintained. Great pool,view and location!

I would HIGHLY recommend staying at Kowabunga. My husband and I stayed for 8 nights in Sept. 07 and have now made this our favorite vacation spot. It's pure paradise and I can promise you will not have a more relaxing, beautiful vacation anywhere. This house is absolutely perfect and an A+ choice for the couple or the large family. Plenty of room. So to Kier and Carrie, thank you for sharing this little piece of Heaven w/ us. We'll definately be back!! =) A+++++++++++ Definately 5 star accomodations!!

Carrie, You have a BEAUTIFUL house (Kowabunga). My wife and I took our 2 small pooches for the week after Labor Day 2007 and absolutely loved it. The views and sounds from the 1st level deck are breathtaking. We found ourselves parked right there for most of the week. You have spared no expense in your ammeneties and furnishings to make us feel like royalty. The beach at this location was great and while we were there, were able to watch dolfins, pelicans, crabs, and lots of seagulls. We saw much more wildlife than people. We were a little concerned about the distance of drive (because of our dogs), but they did OK and it didn't take long to know it was well worth the drive time. Thanks again for a great week and hope to visit you guys again soon!

We were the very first vistors to occupy the Shell. It was the most wonderful experience for all of us. The view from the roof is spectacular. Sunsets to be seen from each deck. Very peaceful and serene time. No hustle and bustle of the big beaches. Perfect...We hope to visit again soon.

Yes, this place is wonderful! We stayed before Katrina, and have hoped and prayed this beautiful home escaped without any damage. Our vacation included 2 older teenagers, and 4 boys age 14, along with me and my husband. There was plenty of room for everyone, lots of entertainment, and the furnishings were brand new and luxurious. Everyone loved our short time on the island, with hopes to return.

This place was Wonderful! We took a wide range of ages and everyone had fun. We had a small Dashund with us and the home was so large he never was unhappy! Our two teenagers had a great time hanging out at the coffee shop and the public beach. My mother enjoyed the fresh seafood shops and my husband and I toured the island and fished. We loved the fishing because the beach is private and you can fish right off of it without other people interupting you. When people do walk by they are very polite! This place is heaven and we will be back. No strips to drive in or franchise eating, great local atmosphere and wonderful food!
