We just finished the long drive home to Texas...with each mile reflecting back on our wonderful week at Big Canoe in your beautiful and comfortable villa on Lake Petit. When I asked my two 4 year old grandsons what their favorite thing was about Big Canoe (thinking they would say the rock slide, fishing or the boat ride) they both blurted out "The bunk beds!!". How we all enjoyed your beautifully appointed and tastefully decorated home with room to spare for our growing family. All 4 of the grandchildren piled into the large lower level bath tub for a group bath each evening...such fun! Cooking in your lovely kitchen was not a chore but quite a treat. Harry and I loved the breathtaking view of the lake from your master bedroom as we adjusted the wonderful Tempurpedic bed to the perfect setting. After staying in our home and looking at the many pictures of your attractive family...I do hope we will have the opportunity to meet one day. Thank you so much for sharing your fabulous home with our family...we feel blessed to have been able to gather together in such a lovely setting.

There are not enough peaceful, fabulous, spectacular or extraordinary words in the English language to describe my experience at the Country Villa. To say it was serene and perfect would NOT do it justice. The online photos, while beautiful do NOT adequately describe the beauty and detail of the home. The bedding was WHEW! I've NEVER slept so good. The mattress and the linen were magnificent in their own way. 2 Washers/Dryers, 2 Full Kitchens, The kids' room have two extra beds under the bunk beds. The view of Lake Petit CAN NOT be described by any human on this planet. From this point on, no matter what, there is only ONE home that I will rent in Big Canoe Georgia and that is the Boyd Villa. And last, but certainly not least, the Boyds are real live angels. No doubt about it. I looked in every closet for their extra set of wings, but did not find them. I don't know where they hide them, but i know they have them somewhere. Ms. Beverly sounds like that family member you love to hear talk. EXTREMELY kind and pleasant. I LOVE them. They are part of my family forever. And Mr. Boyd, GOOOOOOO DAWGS...sic 'em! Class of '94!!!!!!

Our family visited the Boyd Villa at Big Canoe July/2008. The house was beautiful with wonderful views. The house was perfect for our family. The golf course was great. The rock slide at the pool and fitness center was exceptional. Everyone enjoyed the hiking as there were different levels ranging from easy to hard. We enjoyed your beautiful and comfortable home. Thanks to Beverly and Jim for a great vacation.

Dear Beverly and Jim: Thanks so much for making your beautiful home available to us for celebration of my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful time. The house is marvelous, spacious, oh so comfortable. All the furnishings, linens, and kitchen accessories were of excellent quality. The entire weekend was a delight for our large crowd. We had to draw straws taking turns sitting in Jim's chair in the family room. My 90-year-old grandmother is very very picky . . . her comment on inspecting your home was "Hmmmph! We chose the Boyd Villa as the setting for our parent's 50th anniversary celebration. It was the perfect escape for our family that ranged in age from 9 to 75. The layout of the home accommodated a wide range of activities from playing pool and video games down stairs, to watching college football in the great room, to doing absolutely nothing other than watching the birds from the deck. The view of the lake from the decks and master bedroom is incredible, very serene and peaceful. Big Canoe offers plenty outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, and boating on Lake Petit. The Boyd Villa is very well maintained and has everything needed to prepare a feast in the kitchen and bar. This beautiful home is an extension of it's owners who provide excellent care and service to their guests. We can't wait to go back!

Dear Jim and Beverly, We want to again thank you for going above and beyond the role of homeowners renting their home. When our family arrived in Blue Ridge to find the home we rented already occupied (23 of us, mind you) we thought our vacation was being stolen from us. We thank God that he led us to your property and that he spoke to your hearts and you let us rent your home with only a day's notice. We know there was extra effort to get your home ready for us yet you were willing to make that effort. So many in today's world would have seen our request as inconvenient and would not have been as gracious as you were. Our vacation was not only restored to us but also enhanced by your beautiful home and the wonderul Big Canoe community. We were truly blessed by our time there and looking back we can see God's hand in giving us what we needed. He is a generous God and you are his generous servants. To anyone considering this property to rent I say you cannot find a more welcoming and luxurious home and you certainly cannot find more giving and caring homeowners. I hope you have the privilege of meeting them.

I am not sure where to even begin about our WONDERFUL experience at the Boyd Villa. We had a party of 16 stay for 2 nigths and never wanted to leave. The home is BEAUTIFUL!! It is totally 5 star all the way. The beds were so comfotable that i was tryign to see what types of mattress they had! It was so clean and smelled fresh. The lines were so soft and plush. The propery is amazing and the Boyds are delightful to work with as well as full of integrity. This home is defintely very upscale and along the lines of the finest I have seen. You will NOT be dispappointed. Enjoy your stay!

What a wonderful vacation our family had at the Boyd Villa. There were fourteen of us ranging in ages from one to seventy-nine. We loved the beautiful setting overlooking the lake. The interior of the Villa is magnificent with the natural wood colors and lovely furnishings. The dining room table was perfect for us to sit around for our meals and the spacious high ceiling living room was the perfect setting for the story telling that goes with our reunions. Wonderful bedroom provided some moments of privacy. Over the years we have had our family gatherings in many places in this country and in Europe. The Boyd Villa is now our favorite. John Coffin

What a surprise to find that the last guest to comment on your lovely home was there for the same reason we were--to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary-- and with almost as many people (we had 18)! It was perfect! We had plenty of room and plenty to do for every age--our 8 grandchildren range from 9 to 18. The party our family had to celebrate was beautiful--even gold balloons released from the vaulted ceiling! We have gotten together every summer since the children started leaving home, but we all agreed this was the best! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Your lovely Boyd Villa was the perfect spot for our family of seventeen folks to gather and to celebrate our Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary! Children and grandchildren of all ages were comfortable, entertained, and had the privacy they needed. Gathering places to enjoy the view of lake and woods, the fireplace on cool nights, the decks when sunny..what fun we had visiting and making wonderful memories. Thank you for having every convenience, lovely rooms, kitchens(2), and good comfortable beds. Big Canoe and Boyd Villa will linger fondly in our family memories. 2 August 2004 Hi Jim and Beverly, We completed a great family reunion week in July at your home in Big Canoe. Our family of 13 has been vacationing for over ten years at sites varying from the Florida Keys to the North Carolina Outer Banks and the consensus is that your Big Canoe home and area were among the best we have stayed at. Your home is complete from a tremendously well-stocked and efficient kitchen to more than enough room for adults and children to have their own space, and of particular importance, for the young children to feel and be safe in that space. Evening home-cooked meals served on the dock with views of the lake were especially memorable. The swim club with the rock slide was a big hit with all family members. Dear Jim and Beverly, My family (14 of us) recently returned from a week at your beautiful Boyd Villa. The spaciousness of the house, enormously tall wooden ceilings, beautiful furnishings and beautiful views exceeded our expectations. I am so glad you did not assess my security deposit for the drool that was accummulating in puddles under your husband Jim's gorgeous pictures from his show business, professional skiing and modeling days! We found the Boyd Villa to be exactly what we wanted....a peaceful place to hang out with the family, grill and cook meals, watch movies, go fishing and hiking, canoe or paddleboat, and play golf. Our stay at the Boyd Villa defined hospitality! Your home was spacious and beautifully appointed, but it was the subtle luxuries that made us feel so welcome .. a phone call from you upon our arrival making sure that we had arrived safely and that we had everything we needed for our stay, decks that beckoned us to share the spectacular view, feather beds that nestled us to sleep at night, room enough to have half a dozen different activities going on at once, and time -- time for a group of old friends to catch up with each other's lives. Thank you for allowing us to make your home ours for a short while. We'd love to come again.

Your home was fabulous! The layout allowed the adults and kids to enjoy the house, often without even knowing the other group was there. It really gave all of us space and down time when we needed it. Your kitchen was delightful as well and we took full advantage of its great design and equipment. All in all, we had a wonderful time at Big Canoe and would love to return to Boyd Villa again next year.

This is a beautiful propery. The house has a large living/dining room space perfect for a family gathering, yet many more intimate spaces for those members of a family/group needing more seclusion! The owners did a wonderful job of anticipating the needs of their guests. You will not be disappointed here!

We LOVE the Boyd Villa! My friends and I were looking for a first-class, comfortable, all-inclusive vacation rental home, and that's exactly what we found in the Boyd Villa. The views are gorgeous, it's private, very spacious, and there's something for everyone. The Boyds have truly thought of everything for guest comfort.
