  I regularly visit Federal Way for work and want a nice, comfortable place to stay for a few days or a few weeks. I found Joan and Gerry's wonderful suite on vrbo and spent three weeks there in January, 2013. It is a fabulous suite, the hosts are wonderful and I am delighted that I have found such a nice space for future stays. The location is great for walking and visiting the beach, yet close to shops while remaining quietly residential. I especially appreciated that Joan and Gerry went out of their way to provide treats for my late-flight arrival and the fact that they are close-by. Working away from home has never been so nice!

  The property is just as pictured on VRBO and has everything you would need for your stay. The owners are very nice to work with and were there if we needed anything. We would defiantly go back.

  We stayed here while attending a 4-day college swim meet at the King's County Aquatic Center. The location was perfect! Just a few minutes from the pool which made travelling back and forth between swim sessions very easy. We loved the large kitchen which was well-stocked with dishes and appliances, and even snacks and some basic cooking ingredients. We were able to cook healthy meals and the large dining table made cooking for swimmers a cinch. We have used VRBO for various travels and this is by far the best property yet. The area is peaceful and beautiful, lovely views of the water, and the house is stocked with quality furnishings which made our visit like home. (e.g. plush towels, comfortable beds with cozy covers, washer and dryer, double recliners in the sofa.) My only regret is once other people find this listing, it will be booked up too quickly for us the re-visit. I would definitely stay here again!

  The location was perfect and serene. The apartment was better than described. Great location--quiet but close to most everything. High quality kitchen. Comfortable beds--even the murphy bed! This will be my first choice to stay on my next trip to the area. Thanks Joan for being such a great host.

  My husband and I were very impressed with the quality of the apartment. The appliances were top-grade and quiet. The view was relaxing and scenic. I didn't realize the owners lived upstairs until I had arrived, but they made you feel comfortable and welcome.

  Recommended for: Age 55+.

  My partner and our 2 boys loved this home away from home. Gerry and Joan were fabulous hosts. We arrrived late on Saturday evening and a stressful day of travel and a bottle of wine was waiting for to unwind. The apartment was perfect. We came for the Christmas Holiday and hosted 14 people for Christmas dinner perfectly. The location couldn't have been better for us. Less than a minute from Dash Point State Park, and with a lovely view and a lovely garden even in the winter season. Joan was kind enough to provide EVERY essential item for setting a lovely table for every one. The kitchen was great, and made preparing and serving meals easy for our 10 day stay. The photos are very accurate and the property was easy to find and very well maintained. We loved staying here and look to make it our home away from home until we can move back to the Seattle area.

  I stayed at this home for over two weeks while in Federal Way for work. I was able to host out of town friends and family, have plenty of space to prepare for my meetings and even was able to host two important work meetings at the site. There is great functionality in the well equipped kitchen and the large table which can serve as a great space for meetings and a welcoming space for entertaining and eating. Fabulous views and outdoor space for eating, resting conversation and grilling. I used the washer and dryer, the full-sized closet and the convenient and comfortable Murphy bed in a curtained space. During my meetings, the bed folded away and was not discernable for my colleagues. Best part of the stay, though was the care and welcoming spirit of Joan, the hostess/owner. She was accommodating to parking by my guests, attentive to my needs and respectful of my privacy. She leant me extra dishes and flatware for my meetings and let me know when she was expecting guests, as well. I strongly recommend this home and hope to return for future stays when I am back for business.

  We lived in the Puget Sound area for 10 yrs before moving away, so we have lots of friends and family and wanted to create a home away from home so we could have them all come and go as we/they pleased, in addition to hosting Thanksgiving dinner. Joan and Gerry's property was perfect for us! We had more than enough room for our family of 4 (we have 2 sons, ages 4 and 1) and more than enough room to host Thanksgiving dinner. Joan was so wonderful about making sure I had everything I needed to make Thanksgiving dinner as if I was cooking in my own kitchen, as well as offering special little touches to make everything look beautiful...although the kitchen, dining table, and property are beautiful without any changes to begin with! My husband (and most of our guests) kept joking that he was going to put one of the dining room chairs in our trunk because they were so comfortable! The beds were also both comfortable...I slept in both the Murphy bed and the master bed and was comfortable. Joan and Gerry were great...we couldn't have asked for better upstairs neighbors, and will be back in the future for sure!

  The listing description is accurate. The owners were very helpful and pleasant. The property was clean. The beds were comfortable with plenty of extra blankets. There was a view of the water from the front patio, a garden and a firepit. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would certainly stay there again. The neighborhood is safe and very nice. Very quiet and relaxing. I would recommend the property. Overall, a very positive experience.

  We live in Las Vegas, and spent two weeks in Federal Way visiting our kids and grandkids. Joan & Gerry were so accommodating and gracious throughout our stay. The apartment was perfect. We spent evenings chatting around the fire pit, Bar-B-Q'ing. We had family dinners around the huge table. We had the little kids spend the night. We just had a fabulous time with our family. You will find this apartment perfect for all of your needs. Our stay was so successful we didn't want to leave. We can't thank Gerry & Joan enough for their wonderful hospitality.
