We came down during thunder beach 2013, there were a total of 5 of us and we absolutely loved staying at this house. It had everything we could want and or need. I definitely recommend staying in this house, it's far enough off the main strip where you can relax but close enough that you can get to it withing a few minutes. The owner Chuck, made sure that everything was ready and checked on us before our trip. He was very accommodating and nice. Thank you chuck! We will be staying in your house again :)Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This little home was perfect for our family. It had everything we needed, was clean, and the owner was very helpful with all our questions. During our stay we enjoyed Laguna Beach, which was a 5 minute walk from the home. The beach was quiet and private without a lot of tourists. The location of the home was terrific; it was only a few minutes from Panama City so when we wanted to do "tourist" activities we could do that easily. We went to St. Andrews State Park where we swam and snorkeled. It was a beautiful day there and was very family friendly. We ate a Pineapple Willys, which was really good although a little pricey as one would expect. We went to Ripleys Believe it or Not on our last day because it was raining but we were a little disappointed. We waited in line over an hour for the 3-D ride but we finally gave up and left. Thankfully we could use the tickets the next day so we arrived as soon as they opened and were able to ride within 10 minutes. Our kids favorite thing was Thomas Donut Shop which featured Key Lime Donuts and was very delicious.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you Shannon. I am so happy that your family enjoyed your stay, and I hope that you are able to come back soon! Chuck

There were 5 adults in our group (one in a wheelchair) and we had plenty of room. The rooms were large and even the bathroom was big enough for maneuverng the wheelchair (although not handicap equipped). Our favorite part of the house was the screened porch (for reading, drinking coffee and conversing). The kitchen was well equipped and we were glad we had the grill right outside the back door. The beds were very comfortable. The best part was the convenience to the quiet beach, Thomas Donuts, the Carousel grocery/gift shop/liquor store and Pier Park Mall! Chuck, thanks for sharing your beach home with us!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Loved the pink house, Chuck was really great when we had to call him (a couple of times) and resolved the problems ASAP that day. The house was very clean and well taked care of. The only down side of the house was no central AC, the bathroom got really HOT when you took a shower. This was our first stay in the Laguna Beach area but will not be our last. We loved the private beach and we only got in the crowds when we wanted too. I would go to St. Andrews Park at least one day of your stay, if walk down from the beach area there are great shells to be found. Pirate ship cruse is a must of you have younger kids.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was such a great experience! We were only a block and a half from the beach, and everyone in Laguna Beach was so nice! Although we were expecting a lot of rain, we only had rain twice. The first storm lasted long enough to order lunch at Subway. By the time we were finished eating, it was gone. The second rain storm started at 3:30 and only lasted about 2 hours or so. All other rain storms were just south of us. We got to watch it while sitting on our nice sunny beach. Not only was that great for us, but we also saw full double rainbows! Chuck is so kind, and was very attentive. We are already talking about our trip next year. We recommend Sandpiper, Carousel (get your kids snorkel from the gift shop for only $8.49- and WAY cheaper than Winn Dixie), Thomas Donuts (key Lime donut- YUM!!!!), Water Planet to swim with dolphins, Pahnhandle for helicopter rides, and PCB Parasailing. Make sure you get a net for sea shell searching in the water, but most shells you can find just up the beach. There were not too many people on our beach, unless the Church Camps were in full force. We even saw a small wedding! We were so sad to leave, and for the first time I cried coming home. I cannot say enough about how awesome this was for our family. There was never a moment that was wastedRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family went to Panama City Beach for softball tourney. Our stay was great. The beach house was exactly as described. It was very well supplied for all our needs, more so than I would have guessed. We walked to beach everyday. The location on the beach was very nice, not over populated, like most vacation spots.Island Time Snorkel and dolphin cruise was great. Everyone said it was they"re favorite activity. Deadeye Dick's Steak House was our favorite restraunt. Would recommend this vacation home for anyone who wants a relaxing vacation yet close enough to everything.....SoftballmomRecommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with young children.

If you are looking for luxury, this is not for you. But if you want a comfortable, clean, well maintained Florida beach cottage less than 1 1/2 short blocks from the beach, then this is the ideal place. We enjoyed it so much, we offered to buy it from the owner, who understandably declined (so we bought our own beach cottage two blocks away). The large front screened porch is a wonderful place to enjoy morning coffee and evening drinks and conversation. Rent it and have fun.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Clean, quiet, well-equipped home. LOVED the screened porch for coffee and some web-surfing in the morning. Five minute stroll to the beach...or to Thomas Donuts (the best!). My wife liked the proximity to Pier Park and I liked the nearness of Holiday Golf and the Hombre Golf courses. My favorite restaurants nearby were The Spicy Noodle, Boondocks, Scampys, and Schooners while my wife's favorites are Uncle Ernies and Captain Andersons. I love the white sand beaches of northwest Florida and Laguna Beach was less crowded than all the surrounding Panama City area beaches. I will be going back and will recommend this place to friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2012
About the owner: I am a high school principal in rural Tennessee. I was raised in Kentucky, but I fell in love with the beach at 12 years old when my parents took the family on vacation in Pensacola. I moved to Florida at 19, but only stayed a few years before relocating to New Orleans where I was a deep-sea diver in the offshore oilfields. At 28 I moved to rural Tennessee where I love to do almost anything outdoors. I love to golf, hunt, fish, and hike the woods.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes:
I decided to buy in Laguna Beach because of the dedicated beach and the charm of the neighborhood. There is no development on the beach. The beach is open and uncrowded.
My home is incredibly convenient to the hustle and bustle of Panama City Beach with loads of fun activities and great restaurants, but at the end of the day when I vacation I want to be able to get away from the crowd.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
It is really great to be so close to the beach. It is easily walkable in 5 minutes if you just want to stroll down to take in the splendor of a sunset. Yet you can get in your car and be at the Pier Park shopping center in five minutes, or at The Holiday Golf Course in less than 10 minutes. Frank Brown Park, a recreation complex which hosts several athletic events and community activities is less than 10 minutes away.
I love being able to walk to Thomas Donuts first thing in the morning. It is only 2 and a half blocks away, and they make fresh home-made donuts daily. The apple fritters are incredible! Grab one, walk back to the house and sit on the porch with a cup of coffee.
