  The location can not be beat. We fully enjoyed our stay and loved the wrap around patio and openess of the unit. Can not get much closer to the water and numerous snorkelling reefs are right there. Sat and watched sunsets every night we could from the lawn area. Wonderful kitchen set-up and well stocked with everything you need to prepare meals and there are even plastic containers for packing food for leftovers or for the beach which was a nice surprise. Clean, quiet, and everything you need is a short walk away including coffee shop, farmers market, health food store, mexican food, deli, and other services.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

  Great location to explore Maui. Clean, well kept, comfortable, and spacious with classy decor. Beautiful tropical jungle surroundings with the ocean just around the corner. Good food, shopping, and beaches are within walking distance. Thank you Heather & Michael for sharing your condo, and all the info on where to find all the amazing places around Maui. What a beautiful place and a great experience!

  Nicely appointed place with wrap around deck, well stocked kitchen, cooler, binoculars, lawn chairs and a good location on the island..a few miles to Kanalapali, 10 minutes to better surf, 15 to Lahaina.. no real beach view from the unit or the deck but it was less than 50 steps away. Beach out front is not sandy or very good for swimming for kids (rock and corral) but there is one that's not to bad a 5 minute walk away...Bottom line it's a updated unit at a good price and I'd recommend it... thanks Tom & Shawna

  In the recently renovated and tastefully decorated one-bedroom, second-floor unit (known affectionately as “The Treehouse”) within the Maui Sands complex at the ocean’s edge in Honokowai, Maui, there is an art print which hangs above the sink in the modern kitchen. This lovely island image is entitled Tropical Solitude and I can honestly say that it also fully describes my feelings about this special place. From the moment I entered this unit for an extended vacation stay, I could feel my stress beginning to melt away. Unit 720 is decorated with such warmth and style that I was immediately put at ease. The unit’s design, color scheme, furnishings and art all contribute to a sense of comfort and well being, and its second-floor, corner location in the building provides a sense of privacy and peace which is truly welcome. “The Treehouse” is an apt name for the unit because it is surrounded by a thicket of bamboo trees and palms. There are also plumeria trees and night-blooming jasmine growing nearby which produce a sweet-smelling perfume, and almost always there is a soft gentle breeze flowing through the sliding glass doors that lead to a wrap-around lanai. I had my morning coffee on this lanai watching the sunrise over the West Maui mountains. In the evening, I walked 50 yards to the ocean to watch a beautiful sunset while enjoying a frosty margarita or a cool gin and tonic. On days when I had the time, I indulged myself in the jacuzzi tub that is installed in the comfortable bathroom and at night, I fell asleep to the rhythmic sounds of the ocean waves which can be heard from the spacious bedroom. The unit is completely furnished; it has everything one would need to feel immediately “at home”. I was able to prepare meals with an array of quality pots, pans, knives and utensils, and all the kitchen appliances are modern, clean and up-to-date. The bathroom is stocked with luxurious towels and the bedroom has an ample supply of linens. Maui Sands is a slightly older apartment/condo complex but it is thoroughly modern, immaculately maintained, and beautifully landscaped. It is, by far, one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. Plus, given its ocean location and the wonderful amenities, it is also very reasonably priced. Finally, the people who live full-time at Maui Sands are incredibly friendly, thoughtful, generous and kind. All in all, Unit 720 is everything you would hope to find on a visit to Paradise.

  Stayed at Maui Sands 2 weeks and really pleased with the accommodation and the complex. There are numerous permanent residents at Maui Sands who will provide advice and assistance to make the vacation as enjoyable as possible. There are several good hiking trails at Kapalua which are accessed via a free shuttle from the resort activity center at the Ritz Carleton. Another easy hike is along Kapalua Coastal Trail. Loved sitting on the Lanai each evening. This is a truly lovely apartment, and we wouldn't hesitate to return on our next trip.

  Thank You so much for sharing this wonderful corner of paradise with us. Loved sitting on the couch with tropical surrounds not to mention the private lanai. We ate all our meals outside listening to the birds and enjoying the plumeria. The ocean front deck was perfect for whale watching and we took long walks on the beach. Hope to see you next year when we are on the island.
